Excellent food and drinks. Outstanding appetizers. If you haven't been..... GO.
Second time dining at Scotty’s. Good food, and appreciate that Scotty himself is working the tables with his staff
These chicken parm hands down.
Enjoyed both the food and the ambience. Very good service
Great as usual. Food, service and environment are always right on. Can’t beat the place.
Had two adults and 4 grandkids. Kids were extremely well bahaved and well received by the restaurant staff. Was great.
Scotty"s has a wonderful atmosphere, so welcoming.
Staff and service excellent as are all dishes that we have
tried. I like the meat preparations, my wife likes the seafood dishes.
It was my birthday!
Scotty's on Sheridan is fine. For a restaurant off the beaten path in a strip mall, it's run of the mill American fare was much better than I thought it would be. However, given how expensive the food is, I was expecting more. For a comparable amount, there are several restaurants in the area with more creative, flavorful meals and cocktails. I had the salmon, which tasted fresh, but was ultimately let down by it's bland accompaniment of asparagus, tomatoes, avocado and balsamic glaze. My husband had the pork ribs, which were tender and fell off the bone, inline with what you'd get at most places in the area. Our server was very pleasant and the atmosphere was fine for the strip mall location. Overall, it was an okay meal, but my husband and I probably won't be back.
Great menu and good wine list. Really solid service. You better go or someone else will.
Striped Seabass was excellent and filet was very good. Nice ambiance and great service.
VERY FAIR PRICES FOR HIGH QUALITY FOOD AND DRINKS
GOOD SERVICE AND WHITE TABLE CLOTHS
This was our first time to Scotty’s and the food was very good. Jay was our server and did a fantastic job and made great recommendations. We will definitely dine here again.
Our go-to eating out spot. Never disappointed! Our choice for birthday groups.
Great place. Excellent food.
Baby back ribs were the best I’ve ever had.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner with friends at Scotty’s on Sheridan.
The food was well prepared and the drinks were as ordered.
We had the special salad with mixed greens, blueberries, strawberries, oranges and lemon vinaigrette which was excellent.
The trout and the scallop dishes were perfectly prepared.
The scallops with sweet bacon was perfectly balanced with arugula, tomatoes & lemon vinaigrette.
The trout with spinach was the best trout I’ve had since I visited Montana. Delicious preparation! Highly recommend it.
Our friends had the chicken Parmesan and the special Rissotto with sausage, tomatoes & peppers. The Rissotto was light on sausage and heavy on the Rissotto.
The wait staff is very well trained - polite and attentive.
We had guests from out of town and we all enjoyed our meals. I had the White Fish, which was a Special, and it was wonderful. As usual the service was great.
Great as usual. A true neighborhood spot — good food, good drinks, friendly, reasonable prices .... care about the customers.
Great food and service. Exceptional desserts ! The owner and staff are so friendly and go out of their way to make sure you’re having a wonderful dining experience.
We went there on Friday 8/3/18. We had a 7:30 reservation but got there at 8:00 (I did call and let them know we would be late). Its location is a little deceptive - in a small strip mall on Sheridan. We had a choice of seats so we sat near the bar, not in the main dining room. The staff was great - attentive and helpful.
We took a while sorting through the menu options and settled on the beef carpaccio as an appetizer. It was perhaps a little heavy on the capers but overall, it was very good. We ordered entrees and glasses of sangria. The sangria took a while to arrive but it was good.
I had Veal Piccata, which was good, again, a little heavy on the capers. My companion had the salmon risotto special. The first time it was delivered, the dish was more like poached salmon on white rice than risotto. The server (whose name I have forgotten, sorry) checked on us and she mentioned that it was not well prepared. He took it back to the kitchen and they tried again. When the replacement dish came, it was much better than the first one, but still not great.
Overall, we experienced very good service but inconsistent food.
With all of the dining choices in the area, I don't think we will hurry back to Scotty's any time in the near future.
Haven't been to Highwood, IL in some time and was surprised to find this hidden gem located far north on Sheridan road. Food, service and ambience was very good to excellent. I will definitely go again!
Good restaurant even though it was in a strip mall it had a nice high end vibe.
Having been a fan of Lovell’s had wanted to try this place for awhile. Scotty the owner who was hands on and actually waited on us that night is charming . Food was delicious and flourless chocolate cake a piece of heaven. Bar area has comfy pub chairs dinning room white table clothes . We will be back
Poor service, food order came wrong. Overall a restaurant that shouldn’t be in business.
Good food and service. Nice place for a family dinner.
Great experience overall, excellent service and all four in our party enjoyed the food.
We were warmly greeted by the door and though we were a few minutes late it didn't present a problem. Within a very short time our waiter introduced himself and took our cocktail order and gave us our menus. There were wonderful choices with prices that weren't outrageous. The drinks came out promptly as did the food. The food presentation was very well done and no one was disappointed with their choice. The ambiance has a transitional feel...not too casual and not too fancy. There was a TV in the bar seating area and I would probably recommend that they don't show sitcom reruns as it doesn't do the restaurant justice. Everyone at the table said they would definitely return as well as recommend the restaurant to their friends.
Scotty's exceeded our expectations in every respect. Great place. We will definitely be back, and make it a regular destination.
Party of 3 for an early dinner. I chose to sit next to our host as she speaks very softly so I could carry on a conversation with her. Less than 2 minutes later, the restaurant owner (as I was told by my host), firmly suggested that I change seats, as I was encroaching on the adjoining table. I politely said "no", and began to look over the menu. The owner then, with a more forceful and demanding tone requested that I change seats! Diners nearby were now noticing the tone of his comments as well! I commented "I am here for an enjoyable dining experience, I am not interested in moving, and please leave us alone". At that point, he gave up and walked away. The exchange was unpleasant, unprofessional and was not warranted! This interchange was a "downer" on the meal. Too many other restaurants to visit when you are treated as a guest and not as an enemy!!
Great service. Food was amazing. Owner was our server and took great care of us.
we love Scotty"s , warm and inviting atmosphere, friendly yet professional staff,
nice variety of menu choices. liked the Seabass and scallop entree ! always great
Lovely restaurant with a nice bar area. Server was very nice. He brought out a key lime pie for my mother's birthday. Food was good. We had the mussels and octopus for appetizer, white pizza with goat cheese, and banana fudge for dessert
We regularly dine at Scotty’s
Superb service place an outstanding menu
Little wonder that every table is occupied on a Thursday evening
This is why we’ll be back again and again
Excellent salmon ada always
Scotty`s is an oasis in the sea. While being in a non descript "strip center", the warm welcome, the white table cloth ambiance, the variety of menu items....from burgers & pizza...to fine dining dinners ARE THE BEST.
Great menu with great choices. Large selection for anyone. Went there with my two daughters and we all found something delicious to eat. Service helpful and attentive.
Slipping since our last visit. I think the experience was spoiled by the fact we were there on a Monday, and staff seemed short handed. We had one check on the food after it was brought to our table, and we had to ask the young man busing the to have our waiter bring the check. Part of the difficulty was the activity in the bar, where many customers were enjoying drinks and appetizers, leaving the dining room short-staffed. Our food was so-so. We might try again, but never on a Monday.
Pleasantly surprised, but I was told by a friend that this place was great and it was! Great food, cozy, and great service.
