Seven Stars Inn
The Seven Stars Inn is the original Chester County steakhouse. We may be new to OpenTable, but we have been wowing our guests for over 275 years by featuring overly generous portions of the finest beef, veal and seafood served in a gracious white table cloth atmosphere. Legend has it that the Inn even served President George Washington himself in this very same historic building set in scenic Chester County.
The cocktail lounge is warm and inviting, and the well thought out wine list includes a broad spectrum of varietals and geographic origins.
Family friendly, the Seven Stars has not only a great Children’s Menu but also a Young Adult’s Menu. Both of these menus scale down the size of the serving and price of their offerings to help mom and dad afford an evening out with the whole family.
All major credit cards are welcomed.
Roast Prime Rib of Beef
Twin 6 oz. Lobster Tails, Stuffed with Crabmeat and Served with Sauteed Shrimp and Hollandaise Sauce (market price)
Everything was great. The prices were sky high from what we remembered but all was good. The staff was very helpful and friendly and we did not have to ask for any refills or anything. Would absolutely recommend and will be back.
Awesome service, great food and plenty of it! Lemon drop martini was great!
The food was absolutely amazing! Our waitress was very attentive as was everyone else who helped us during our dinner. This is one of our favorite restaurants.
Incredible food and service in a cozy atmosphere. Look forward to returning
It was cold, they tried to sit us downstairs and it was freezing down there. I refused, they didn’t even have the fireplace on and had the nerve to try and sit us. No one else was downstairs eating. I wonder why??? (FREEZING) I would definitely suggest wearing warm clothes, there is a draft that comes thru the windows also, I understand it’s an old building. The food and service outside of that was amazing.
Seven Stars has been an institution in our area for I don’t know how long, but a very long time. To be honest, my boyfriend picked it and I was not looking forward to it. The last time we were there, I had brought my father and I was a little embarrassed. The decor just leaves a lot to be desired. I understand historic but this reminds me of someone’s grandmothers house that hasn’t seen daylight in a long time. Also, with my father, he insists on paying. If he had allowed me to contribute, I wouldn’t have minded the cost as much.
All that being said, one will never get a bad meal there. The steak is the highest quality you can find. I wonder, though are the enormous proportions 100 percent necessary. We couldn’t finish the leftovers after indulging 3 or 4 times!
Our experience at Seven Stars was great as always! The food was excellent and portions were great! You can never go wrong with Seven Stars!
16th Birthday for my Twins
Bringing in the New year with a great dinner.
New Years Eve dinner with my guy! Always a great place with great food. Moved out of the area but came back to see family and have a great meal on a special night!
Just as I remember from 20 yrs ago. Loved going back!!!
Great food, good service I would recommend reservations
Beautiful historic inn with large portions of traditional American fare. Service was excellent and food was superb. Highly recommend!
We hadn't been to Seven Stars in more than a decade. Nothing about the building or ambience has changed. I couldn't find any updates whatsoever. However, the portion sizes were much smaller and the meal prices were more than doubled. We were shocked and disappointed. Other than our company and a night out, I wasn't impressed and we wouldn't choose to go there again anytime soon.
Excellent as always. The portions are huge, staff is friendly and very professional. This is one of our favorite places to eat. If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor and give it a try.
Preference is not to package my own leftovers.
La comida excelente pero los precios no se condicen con la realidad extremadamente caro
Great meal but you can’t finish all the food served.
I love the cozy feel of Seven Stars. The food was very good, and our server was lovely. A drawback is that it is insanely expensive, and we did feel rushed. For the amount of money we spent, we didn’t appreciate that. Overall, it is very nice restaurant for a special occasion.
definitely a favorite, if not the favorite place to go for special occasions.
Way too much salt. It was like chewing on a salt lick. Waiting for my stroke.
everything was excellent but was surprised at the menu rates. Other comparable restaurants have not raised rates so severely even with Covid. I am reluctant to return because of the cost.
The seafood was amazing and delivered to the table with a short wait time. The wait staff were attentive (as usual); cleared away finished dishes and refilled water glasses in an efficient manner.
Food lived up to its reputation….had not been there for quite some time however was very well pleased as was all in my party….
Only suggestion - please put up more outside lighting around the Inn as well over the name on the building….somewhat hard to see and recognize in the darkness of the area….
The food and service were fabulous--had the prime rib. It was done to perfection, and they are not kidding when they say "portions are generous"! Lots of leftovers!
Food was incredible and the service was amazing. Will definitely go again
Just wished we knew that there was a limited menu. Also put way back in a corner which was very dark and couldnt hear any Christmas music which would have been nice. Had a hard time getting a spoon.
Seven Stars never disappoints! We had impeccable service from John. The prices are steep but the portion sizes are extravagant which make for delicious leftovers! Everything is really top notch.
Christmas Eve Dinner with family. (2 kids ages 9 and 11) absolutely delicious. Our soup was forgotten but given to us to go at the end with no charge. Wonderful experience for older kids and adults. Best meal in a very long time. We will be back!
We had never been there and when you sent the menu so we could view it really as well as pictures over half of the items were not even available due to the Christmas menu. If we would’ve known it was gonna be limited we would not of come. I really wanted to experience something that wasn’t on the Christmas menu. Also The strip steak was super tough I could’ve got a better stay at Texas roadhouse for a third of the price. I was really anticipating a fabulous meal. The staff was awesome, as well as The facility. Debby McGee 484-529-4033
Food was pretty good but we felt it was overpriced. Huge portions. Ambiance is a lacking considering the price point. Nice cozy bar. Might go again for drinks because we live nearby but probably won’t go again for dinner
Lovely evening with friends. We appreciated the option to bring our own wine.
The food here is amazing! The drink service was a little slower than we had hoped but everything was top notch. We were worried with some of the bad reviews, so I wanted to write this review to say… go! It’s so good and worth it for a special occasion
Service was wonderful. I just felt the seafood dishes didn’t taste so good and were overpriced for what you got. The beef dishes were wonderful I understand price increases but it seemed a little excessive
Food was horribly overpriced with no taste. Bree our waitress was kinda rude although knowledgeable. Seafood dishes were horrible and poor quality. Our bill $995 for mediocre food. I could have had a better dinner at a chain restaurant for a quarter of the proce. Never again!!!!!
Worst most expensive dinner we’ve ever had. All 3 dishes. We are not ones to send food back so we let it go because we couldn’t even choose, but each dish: NY Strip ($69), Chilean Seabass ($46) and the surf & turf which was $100 was disgusting. All dishes had zero flavor. Huge chunk of strip was fatty and couldn’t even cut through it. Sides which was a head of broccoli was pretty much dipped in water and that’s it’s. When i say zero flavor I’m taking bland that salt couldn’t even help. It was a loss and we’ll never go back. We would of had a better meal at Texas Roadhouse for a quarter of the price. Service was ok. And again not ones to not tip 20% so we did, but we went without water for quite a bit of time and between the salad and main entree was at least 25 mins. When Bree finally came to our table after we received our meals and ate she asked us how the food was. We just handed her the card and said we’ve had better. Again we call this a loss. And we’ll never go back. The end.
Food was excellent but service was very slow this time. We were taken to our table very quickly but we spent 3 hours at a 3 course meal with very long wait times in between.
It took over an hour for us to place our food order! We waited about 20 mins to place our drinks/wine order and 20 minutes to receive it. We ate a lot of bread with our wine order. Another 20+ mins passed to place our food order of any kind. We decided to skip appetizers, that we had already decided on, because of the long wait to actually place a food order. We would have liked to enjoy some food, appetizers for instance, with our first bottle of wine but it was almost finished before ordering any food. We were eating the first of 3 course meal almost an hour and a half after sitting at the table.
We had a large group and expected to be at the table for awhile to enjoy our time together. The biggest disappointment was not being able to have appetizers instead of just bread for such a long time.
Otherwise it was a great event, although very pricey the portions are generous, food is excellent, great ambiance and everyone was very pleasant.
Great food, great service. We love it here.
