Wonderful, as always!
Food was excellent, as was service. Only slight hiccup was waiting a little for our bill, which we realized happened because our server was called outside to wait on a large party. And one other hiccup is that between the restaurant and Open Table it seems it was noted we were a no show, when we were definitely there. Hopefully that can get cleared up soon.
Outstanding dining experience. Food was excellent. Drink prices were very high.
Food was just ok. We had been before when it was Family meal, I noticed when making the reservation that the menu was pretty much the same as the previous restaurant. Food however was not up to par for what we were expecting. My scallop meal was incredibly salty, my friend got the shrimp and grits and commented hers was also very salty as she drank 3 glasses of water. We ordered tea to drink but it was so weak it should have been water. Probably will mark this one off the list.
Server very attentive!
Outstanding expresso milkshake
Loved beet salad and heuvos ranchers
Dogs allowed on patio
Food and service was great!
The service was excellent! Staff was polite, prompt and attentive. The food was good. I liked their potatoes and biscuits. I didn’t like the taste of their syrup. Will definitely come back to try their chicken and waffles.
Attentive service while dining on the outdoor patio. Enjoyed some new additions to the menu - whipped ricotta appetizer, scallops entree and desserts including sorbet trio and graham cracker ice cream sandwich - it was enough for two people to share. The meal portions were nicely sized and well prepared. This restaurant never disappoints, always a 5-star experience.
Great food! We thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks!
We sat outside and the band playing next door was so overwhelming I could barely speak to my wife. After we finished dinner and left we noticed there was another outside area to eat which was on the other side of the building and way less noisy, wish we were offered that by the staff.
The service was great and our waiter was helpful and pleasant. Our food “looked” amazing when it was presented but the taste fell very short once we tried everything. The Mac and cheese was bad with hints of cinnamon, the risotto was over cooked and missing a lot of the main component mushrooms. My shrimp and grits fell very short with almost no flavor. The shrimp Tasted as if they were boiled and plated the egg that came with it was over cooked as well. I never write reviews about places but for $120 I felt unsatisfied when I left. Hopefully this helps the next person out. We will not return
Went here for lunch with co-workers and had a great experience. Our server was good overall, but he missed a couple things like brining out app plates when our onion rings were served for the table. The food was great; the cheesesteak I had was one of the best I'd tried in a while, and the Nashville chicken sandwich that my friend got was also very good. This restaurant consistently pushes out quality food, and I look forward to returning.
The service was top notch with the exception of a delayed greeting upon arrival. The food was extremely good but slightly overpriced. I’m all about spending when it comes to great food but have limitations when comparing to similar establishments. Outdoor seating is nice and drinks were tasty.
Everything we ate was so delicious and staff was so friendly
Food was great as always but service wasn’t great and happy hour prices are no longer available unless you’re sitting at the “bar”. Took 20 min for my husband to get his drink and it was not crowded.
Our favorite app from past visits--chicken pot pie fritters--had less chicken this time and was too deeply fried. A disappointment! Our server was friendly and charming, but twice forgot our drink orders and brought the check before asking if we'd like dessert. When served, the desserts arrived without utensils.
Overall, most of our food choices were tasty and well-executed. But the staff's serving skills put a damper on the experience. Perhaps better training would help?
From the beginning the atmosphere was very pleasant, we were greeted right away and very warmly. We were seated right away a little sooner than our reservation and we didn’t wait much at all for our food. The food was simply delicious with a very nice presentation. The servers were prompt, nice and not on top of you, just checking enough on you. The price does not break your wallet considering how good the food is and looks. Overall, we were very pleased with our first experience at Showroom and highly recommend this restaurant.
They accommodated outside because my daughter was under 12 and was not vaccinated.
I went in expecting an Upscale American Diner, and after following Brian V’s career for so long I expected much higher standards than I received. Waiter was completely untrained and couldn’t answer even basic questions about the menu or drink offerings, “supper” portions were nothing more than a tapas plate, the atmosphere was very clean and modern but I certainly wouldn’t say it was any kind of an original idea.
All in all, could’ve been just another chain diner anywhere.
Our first time at Showroom and overall a very good experience. We were seated quickly and didn't have to wait long for a server so seems like that has improved from some of the previous reviews. We ordered some drinks and chive biscuits which were delicious. I ordered the steak and cheese and my wife ordered the fried chicken. Steak and cheese a bit different but was one of the best I have had. Main difference was the type of cheese, not sure what it actually was but a mild white cheese. The steak was super tender and well seasoned with grilled onions. The chicken was tasty as well. We will be back.
This is a rebranded Family Meal. Every bit as good as the original. Fried chicken always excellent. Friendly staff. Plenty of free parking.
We loved the ambience. The food and drinks were delicious! We will definitely be back.
Service was absolutely terrible ; will not return
The Restaurant Week menu was a great deal with a lot of food. I loved the gazpacho and swordfish. I was just ok on the deviled eggs but I'm fussy about them. I would definitely go back and try the regular menu.
Our server (Grace) was phenomenal! Friendly, courteous, attentive and a true pleasure!
If you ever want bad food and bad service this is the place for you. The crab cakes were mostly filler with only a hint of crab, the burger was so overcooked it may have been been on the grill for hours. The service couldn't be worse. Soup served with no spoon, waitress everywhere but attending to our table when only two other tables were occupied . Better off going hungry and saving your money than dining at Showroom.
We were fans of Family Meal, and this new iteration in the same space with a different menu but similar flavors and Tidewater inspiration was well worth the visit. The almost all-day brunch menu offers lots of choices. My brother loved his meatloaf. My sister her breakfast sandwich. We devoured the rich, delicious chicken pot pie fritters. I had the restaurant week menu of gazpacho and crab cake. Both were both classic and inventive at the same time.
Everyone enjoyed their food. However, the service was really off -- several things had to be requested multiple times. There seemed to be plenty of staff working and it was not busy so we could not tell what the cause of these issues were. The worst of it was that we were there for my daughter's birthday, which the server knew. Her dessert never arrived even though we asked for it three times. Finally, it was taken off the bill and a take out version was given to her, but the take out container was a drinking cup with a lid which had a hole in it so it wasn't really a suitable container.
I wanted to love this Voltaggio restaurant, but the service and salt made it a little bit difficult. We made a reservation, specifically asking for indoor bar area. We were led outside, and asked if we could please be sat inside. The host made it feel like a complete imposition so I apologized and mentioned I’d requested the bar inside. He took a minute to look and tell me I was incorrect, then said you can go sit at the bar. When we went to the dining room, only 2 tables were occupied. Not a great start!
We found our way to the bar, where someone greeted us promptly with menus and water, thankfully! We asked a couple questions, got thoughtful answers and ordered. The apps were amazing- chicken pot pie fritters and biscuits. Carb overload and glorious! We ordered sandwiches, which were a bit disappointing. Both the steak sandwich and Nashville chicken sandwich were very heavily over salted. The duck fat fries were delicious though! We had a milkshake for the road, taking most of our entrees home. The shake was delicious!
Overall a meal of highs and lows, but I’d try Showcase again and order more carefully.
First time there. The food was delicious and the service was great. It wasn't very busy when we got there at 1930. We will definitely go back.
Loved waiter Jordan! Super professional for being so young (?)
Not happy with the distance between tables outside. If we choose to sit outside due to COVID the tables should be spaced further apart. Food was amazing kudos to the chef! Loved the wings, scallops with creamed corn and shrimp with risotto! Surprised at the style of plates and glasses used for serving such great food. Plates seemed cafeteria style and maybe use flutes rather than banquet hall dessert glasses? The manager was super attentive to the level of service his staff was providing and coached them respectfully. Not five star review due to the outdoor seating experience.
Great time at showroom for dinner. Staff were very attentive and accommodating, and our waiter was great. The food was amazing, and would definitely recommend to anyone
I made an 8pm reservation. No where on the opentable app nor the restaurants website said the bar was closing at 8pm (8pm!!!). The kitchen was also closing shortly after we sat down. I would have gone somewhere else. You shouldn’t be accepting 8pm reservations if that’s the case. We were hovered over by the waiter (who was really nice) but still felt very rushed. Will likely not be back. My trip to and from the restaurant were both longer than the amount of time we spent in the restaurant…
Had the Bryan burger and duck fat fries and yes goodord yes do you need these in your life!
I dined with my family. This our first visit to Frederick. The restaurant was hidden in plain sight with no signage from side where we entered the parking lot. Once we entered we were pleasantly surprised by the decor. They had our table ready for outdoor dining which I had not requested so we waited for them to add chairs to a table indoors. The way we were seated we had traffic running behind both sides of the table in a narrow passage. I asked for a different table and they moved us to one in front of the bathroom, the serving station and the entrance to outdoor dining. I considered leaving but instead took a deep breath awaited. A peppy young waitress with a trainee waitress greeted us and talked me out of my sour mood. All of the staff seemed young, energetic and pleasant.
The food was really good and well presented. We had cheddar biscuits and pimento cheese for appetizers. My children had Nashville chicken sandwiches which they said were not spicy but the mayonnaise that was served separately was very spicy. My parents had the 1/2 fried chicken which looked and tasted fantastic, especially with the hot honey sauce. I had the special, a lamb burger with a fried feta patty and fries. The special was served with an ale that was complex and tasted amazing. My whole family enjoyed the food immensely. I really appreciated the servers who made our visit enjoyable.
Food was delicious- large portions. Service was excellent!
The biscuits and gravy are amazing and the Bloody Mary is out of this world.
Delicious food and great service!
Our favorite from the Family Meal era was their fried chicken and meatloaf dinners. These dinners were flavorful and well seasoned.
The new Showroom ( still owned by Bryan ) was a true disappointment.
Our favorite dinners were tasteless. Just plain bland and greasy!
Save your money and buy Royal Farm chicken! It is the best! If Royal Farm made meatloaf it would be 1000% better.
Food and service was great. Interesting take
On some classic dishes. Duck fat fries and greens were delicious. Crab cake sandwich had different flare with coleslaw added, I preferred it without. Entrees came with pickle which was delicious
