We were looking through Bangkok’s top dinner spots on TripAdvisor, found Siam Tea Room and booked a table a few hours before dining. Loved it so much that we went back for brunch the next day. Lovely staff and gorgeous, delicious food. My photos don’t do it justice – definitely go.
I asked for the vegetarian options and it was encouraging that they had a reasonable choice of dishes. The starter (deep fried spring rolls) were excellent: moist and tasty. However, the main course (red curry with tofu) was rather disappointing: spicy certainly, but otherwise having a rather insipid texture and containing dull “western” vegetables that I might have eaten at home. The service was excellent however, and the restaurant was smart enough, if a bit soulless.
It is nice place to enjoy the food. The taste is good. Ingredients are fresh enough. The waitress are nice, helpful, friendly. I got an enjoyable luch in this restaurant.

I absolutely loved the food. The crab pancake appetiser was amazing! The staff were helpful and attentive!
One thing I might alter is atmosphere. Coming into a restaurant through the shop is odd. Also it was very quiet while we were there. Maybe some music or some connection to busy street outside would make atmosphere more lively.

Nice atmosphere and good Thai food. I went with my Thai girlfriend and we both enjoyed the food, especially the pad thai. My only negative was that the staff are so diligent about picking up empty plates they seemed to always be hovering.
