Sushi Kappo Tamura
Tamura is a Kappo style restaurant where food is prepared in an open kitchen and served quickly in a lively environment where staff and guests talk about the food and beyond. Our goal is to become the very best restaurant to our guests by getting to know them and serving them in a personable yet professional manner.

Excellent sushi as always. The butterscotch and chestnut crème brûlée is to die for!
Always delicious, the freshest fish, sustainable choices. Great desserts.
Excellent service and delicious. Everything was prepared perfectly and tasted great. The staff were very helpful and nice. They helped us decide what to order for our very large group eating family style. They made a recommendation for a dish that everyone loved.
The first was good. But I thought that the sashimi cost a lot more than it should have. I don't think having squid should be one of the sashimi that should have been in the Combo. I would replace squid with another fish.
We had a FABULOUS experience -- 5 stars all the way!
The owner, Steve Tamura, is very hospitable and runs his award-winning team very well. All of the sushi is authentic and fresh and the housemade mochi dessert is delish for those who know good mochi. : )
Absolutely fantastic, as usual. Outstanding good and excellent service.
I would recommend to anyone eats sushi 1-2 times a month. But for the frequent sushi connoisseur, not a place for you. The fish is not up to par for that pricing.
The quality of the fish they serve at Sushi Kappo Tamura is the best I have had in Seattle. The service is excellent. I highly recommend the restaurant.
We live Sushi Kappo Tamura. The fish is amazing is the best in town and the service is fabulous. Our favorite Seattle restaurant.
I found this restaurant outstanding. I ordered the Azo Gozen and found all elements to be very authentic (having lived in Japan for 8.5 years) especially the Agedashidofu which is my measure of a Japanese restaurant. The chawanmushi was delicious with chunky pieces of crab meat. And a lovely surprise was the house made Yuzu Ginger tea. So delicious. I’ve already been twice this week!!
Sushi was sub-par, did not feel well afterward. This was for my birthday dinner visiting town.
The food was really fantastic. The menu had great options that go beyond sushi, sashimi and nigiri with is wonderful.
Excellent sushi. They were very accommodating of my gluten and dairy allergies, even changing the preparation of a dessert so that I could have it.
Delicious tuna and salmon.
The food was delicious as always. We sat there for about 5-7 minutes before we were greeted which felt like 10-12 when you’re starving. The server wasn’t busy, one table was closing out and the other was half way through a tasting so he didn’t appear to be weeded. The chef kept making eye contact with me and I saw him speak to our server who headed over right after. He made up for his attentiveness throughout the rest of the meal. The Black Cod Belly is where it’s at, we had it 3 different ways lol!
Amazing food and lots of fun
A new favorite neighborhood spot! We will keep coming back.
The food was delightful and our server was AMAZING. He was not only knowledgeable but passionate about the food and providing a one-of-a-kind dining experience. It has been YEARS since I received such exuberant and passionate service at a restaurant. If you have been feeling lack-luster about Seattle food service, or have lost a little or even most of your foodie love, this could be the place to revive you and your senses.
Best sushi in the City. We have dinner here every other week.
Excellent as always. Great preparation of local seafood. Oysters are superb.
Outstanding sushi and a great sushi chef...great meal.
The best weekend brunch spot in Seattle. Try the "gozen" sets - delicious. Chawanmushi is smooth and savory, hearty beef-maitake nabe, sashimi... Always outstanding!
Sushi Kappo Tamura is consistently superb in the fish they procure as well as the other ingredients they serve. I always feel like I’m going to a friends house for dinner. They make you feel welcome and taken care of.
Taichi has one of the best sushi chef personalities, he makes eating at the counter a fun experience. Steve Tamura does an excellent job running operations. They make a dynamic duo producing delicious meals and ambiance.
SKT is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle!
Everything is so delicious and so fresh. Service is perfection.
This gem serves the best sushi in Seattle. After several visits, my expectations become greater and greater and still, expectations are exceeded. The weekend brunch is underrated too.
Great service as always from Edward. Fish here is always fresh and prepared/presented perfectly by the sushi chefs
Our Chef’s Omakase experience was above and beyond amd was perfect to celebrate a dear friend’s Birthday!
A Wonderful experience in Seattle. We chose the chef's Omakase. Such a great selection from the chef. A must do for all the foodies out there.
Fantastic food and very friendly staff. Best omakase we’ve had in Seattle.
Went for wife’s birthday dinner. Excellent food, well presented with friendly but not overly fussy staff. Unrushed meal with nice drinks choices. This is our second time visiting and the high standard of our first visit was heightened by a nice table side conversation with one of the staff. Arigatou gozaimasu, gotisousama desita!
Absolute best sushi and best service in Seattle. Recommend the black cod belly and uni.
Our go to spot with exceptional service and flavors.
Best sushi in town but expensive
Love love love this place. The fish is so fresh and delicious. The service is always friendly.
Best sushi I have ever had. Beats the best of the best, including Nobu. Would definitely recommend 100%
Great birthday dinner!
