Takam’s philosophy is about #filipinofoodforward which showcases to their culture, nostalgia and passion for the traditional flavours and techniques of Filipino cuisine, but delivers in a elavated, harmonious and personalized manner. Takam are also inspired by the native Australian produce at Sydney’s doorstep, using native ingredients in their traditional cuisine and honouring both, will be at their forefront. A hybrid concept bought to life from lifelong friends, Francis Dela Cruz, Aileen Aguirre and Lesley Roque.

Best service we’ve experienced in a while. The $60pp feast option is exceptional value for money. We thought the food was true to culture, while having a modern spin. Would highly recommend.

Loved the food - very flavoursome and having not eaten Philippine food before I was excited to experience the tastes. I wasn’t disappointed and I won’t comment on that as for me that was 5 star. What for us on the night were a couple of hiccups with the service. When we arrived we were greeted very warmly and in a very friendly was so felt very welcome. The staff member who showed us to our seats and explained the menu then disappeared and we had other servers. This is where things weren’t quite spot on. So top ups for wine and water were slow in coming and maybe this was a product of us being seated upstairs. At the end of the main meals we were just presented with the bill. Never asked if we wanted dessert. we would liked to have tried the specialities but felt were were being rushed out so didn’t bother to ask for the menu. It wasn’t late and this was a missed opportunity for Takam to complete the experience for us.

The service and ambiance were great, but the food really missed the mark. . The entrée was literally just a very plain bread I couldn’t believe bread was considered an entrée it felt really low-effort. The chicken dish was generally good, but it was inconsistent some pieces were juicy while others were quite dry. They served the main with rice and small side of lettuce and tomato, the sides felt completely like an afterthought. Even the dessert was underwhelming. Overall the food quality just didn’t match the cost.

We had a wonderful experience at Takam. The food was amazing and the service even better. I cannot wait to go back and try the rest of the menu and experience the great hospitality again.

The swordfish, cuttlefish and chicken were the highlights of the meal. I would come back just for the swordfish. There is magic on the charcoal BBQ grill. The cream caramel dessert was so good. Definitely recommends it! The only thing that was a bit distracting is the noise when you sit upstairs. It is echoing quite loudly when you have groups.
