What Insiders Are Saying
Tallulah’s is one of the best - and most attractive - places to eat brunch in Cap Hill. Bring someone who won't mind you taking pictures of your eggs.
Food was very good. Large portion
We were able to reserve a table on a Friday evening just a few hours before our planned dinner time. We were seated inside, but right where it opens up to the outside. It was a beautiful night. They had a special made with Copper River salmon (sockeye) which was delicious. The grain bowl was tasty. Other than the salmon, the appetizers and small plates were the highlight, especially the Brussel Sprouts! A fantastic place to eat!
My only complaint is that I just wish they had a less hoppy beer selection.
Great! So good really!
Lovely place, great patio, amazing food... interesting service strategies... tables around us remained w empty plates for almost the duration of our meal. I guess the tables weren’t needed & they concentrated in service... our server forgot that we wanted another round of drinks... saved us some $$$... overall it is great, just a semi busy Sunday brunch
Food was good, decor was wondeful, but the staff was kind of rude. When we walked in the hostess was standing there drinking coffee...totally ghetto. I ordered 2 things and only received one...where is that scone? And she didnt approach our table after we ordered until she brought the tab, so i couldnt even ask about the scone. We were about the 4th table seated early on a saturday morning, res was for 9:30, so it wasnt because they were busy. Food is expensive in this city. I could easily make eggs benedict at home for a few dollars, so i expect the service to be great when i go out! That and a good atmosphere are really is ALL a restaurant has to offer. Food is easy to make at home. Wont be back.
The service was awful. It took forever to get drinks and some of the food was missing. We had to wait a long time to reorder more drinks.
Definitely worth a second visit for dinner! Brunch was scrumptious!
We were visiting Seattle and having troubles finding places that offered healthier menu options, a variety of menu items (we have kids that are picky eaters) and offered items at a reasonable price. Tallulah's hit all of the above and oh so much more! Their dishes had tons of veggies in them and the decor was straight out of a magazine. Not to mention the tasty cocktails...We would definitely eat here again!
Atmosphere was great! Food was yummy but I think a $16 Huevos Rancheros dish should have 2 vs. 1 eggs :)
We really enjoyed our brunch and can’t wait to go back!!
It was all good & I’ll gladly return. My dining partner & I had a great experience.
The food at Tallulah’s is consistently great, but the staff makes it all the better. The staff is welcoming, efficient and friendly. Always an excellent meal experience.
Tallulah's is s delightful place to dine day or night. They offer a range of custom cocktails in addition to a nice wine selection. An array of small plates allows for a shared meal; of course, one can find large plates to consume solo.
Tallulah's has a great menu--something for everyone. I had a nicoise salad that was listed as an appetizer but was big enough for an entree (highly recommended!); my companions had a burger and a french dip sandwich. There were plenty of vegetarian options, fish, whatever. The fries were great. On a Monday evening, it wasn't too crowded so it easy to have a conversation.
The food was amazing for brunch. Everyone at our table loved what they got. The lemon ricotta pancake and the avocado toast were standouts. The only issue was that it was quite loud and we had trouble holding a conversation
I came here for brunch on a Saturday. It was near the end of brunch service, so the restaurant was fairly empty. Yet it still took 10 minutes for a server to come over, she forgot an item we ordered, and drinks took forever. Near the end of the meal I told her I might want another drink before getting the check. 15 minutes later I was never offered another drink and decided to just leave so we tracked someone down to get our check. We were watching our server goof off with the bartender behind the bar. It is very noisy the acoustics are rough. The food was pretty good though and the menu is interesting. This place just needs more attentive service.
We love this spot! The food is good, the service is great, and they are pretty kid friendly (minus no changing table in the men’s restroom). We’ve been a few times now and will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend the brunch. The breakfast bowl and avocado toast are delicious.
I've been renting a place in north Capitol Hill for three months now and I can't believe it took me this long to make it to this wonder of a restaurant. The food was delicious, the service truly top-notch, and the feel is warm and communal. Highly recommended!
Delicious food (with typical levels of salt for a restaurant—a little much for us), creative without being twee.
I like the open bright dining room in this mid century decorated restaurant. They we're donating $1 from a special drink to a cat rescue charity. They have a new "meatless" dish every Monday which I would like to back to try. I had the sweet potatoes and black bean bowl, it was really good. I did forget to order it with no egg cause I'm vegan but it was an easy give away to my table mate. I had the hibiscus ice tea, very refreshing. The Brussels were prepared in a way I had not tasted before, they we're also very tasty. My wife got the beet salad and it was so green and fresh. She had the mushroom risotto as a main but said Capitol Cider made a better version of this entree. We were a group of 6 and everyone overall enjoyed the food. Our waiter left a little to be desired, not much of a personality or attention to details. I would definitely go back here.
Our server was phenomenal! They were attentive, made great recommendations, and positively impacted our overall experience. In fact, they were one of the best servers I’ve ever had.
Sat in back of restaurant so it was quiet. Cocktails great. Added chicken to a salad and my dish wasn’t that exciting. Everyone else enjoyed their meal.
Nice dinner. Seattle restaurant week menu was a great value and nice assortment. Great spot for dinner with business colleague/friend that we were able to include our 7 year old.
Excellent meal. The brussel sprouts were absolutely divine. Everything was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. And the meal was topped off with a refreshing zabaglione with fresh berries. A little busy for my taste, but the service was very good.
Fabulous, from start to finish.
Love the ambiance and the food is usually amazing. We were there for brunch on a Saturday and there were only 2 servers so we waited probably 45 minutes for a check with our server talking in the corner with her coworker.... Only issue. All other service was fast. I was disappointed with my omlette but my guests loved theirs, all the other times I’ve eaten here has been wonderful.
Loud place. (Too) Loud waitress. Who, despite repeating the request twice, still got the order wrong. The food for the rest of was starting to get cold by the time the requested version was brought forth. Definitely not a "fun" moment there. But hey, minus the bogus service, the company was good and we had fun.
There should be a noise level choice beyond energetic—in the case of Tallulah’s, it would be “deafening”.
Had a lovely dinner for 5 adults here on a Sunday evening. Very laid back, easy going atmosphere and a little hum / buzz in the place but overall a nice hum and great ambiance.
Got in just before 6pm so enjoyed a few happy hour drinks and small snacks. Order several dishes to eat family style s/as brussel sprouts, eggplant & peppers....all good.
Had an overall great experience and recommend this place along with the nice neighborhood where it is located.
5 excellent dishes out of 5!
And the cocktail!
Great food and nice staff. Really cool vintage space.
Food was so good and loved the vibe and openness of the place!
I really enjoyed the interior that had the feel of a modern yet quirky Seattle restaurant.
We had a really great time at Talullah’s. This was our first time there and the perfect place to take our friends who were visiting from out of town. They had a great drink menu and the food was delicious. We made a reservation, but it wasn’t too busy for a Saturday night.
I’m sad! I always loved this restaurant and have had good experiences. The last two have been less than mediocre. The last time I thought maybe a one time thing- nope. Food was flavorless, service- was there any? Took 20 minutes to get a drink, never checked back, had to flag down servers and they had forgotten 2nd round of drinks.
Brought my friend and our coworkers here for her birthday. Everyone absolutely loved their meals and cocktails. I love bringing guests to Tallulah’s bc the food is always consistently delicious!! Best huevos rancheros I have ever had in my life - they’re a must-try!!
Food and ambiance were great, but we felt incredibly rushed. They must have been trying to turn the table one more time so they brought our food (we ordered many plates to share) very fast and almost all at the same time. When we were asked if we wanted desert and said no, the waiter was armed with the check and left it on the table without us asking, circling back 4-5 times to see if we had put a card down yet. We left feeling like we barely had a conversation the experience was so rushed. Not sure if we’d return.
Had to wait about 15 minutes for our reservation and the staff, while informative and friendly, were not particularly attentive. Food was great, the ambiance was great.
I really appreciated that there were several vegetarian options and definitely enjoyed my meal! However, a dish with anchovy was marked vegetarian on the menu, which the server assured me is a typo. The food was mostly good but we were really disappointed with the cheese plate. It was $15 and there was barely enough cheese to split, served with too crispy bread and and some jelly. Please put more cheese on that or drop the price. It’s bogus. Our server was really nice but had to apologize several times for being short staffed and inattentive. I would go back for sure, but had a few issues so I couldn’t quite give the 5 stars!
