Outstanding experience of modern Indian taste. My favourite stop to dine and invite friends.
Food was a bit different to normal, offering street food at very non street food prices! Set theatre menu seems to offer good value but extras and drinks very expensive. Good place for a quiet meal but can catch you out in terms of overall bill.
Outstanding as usual!
Outstanding food and authentic Indian vegetarian fare. Will come back again
Very pleasant staff. Food disappointing.
The slow cooked lamb was dry, not tender and lacked flavour. Other dishes also lacked taste although Bindi Okra was good.
Terrific. Creative menu. Will be back!
Outstanding range of food in a relaxed environment with friendly and helpful service. Go for the soft shell crab starter in particular
Excellent evening at Tamarind Kitchen. A little tight on a table of 6, but everything else was perfect
We loved it! The food was excellent and the waiters so nice! We will come back!
Incredible dinner! Staff was perfect and the food was amazing.
We have been to Tamarind Kitchen several times, but it has become much worse value than before. The food is good but the prices are too high and the portions are too small.
This is a total different dining experience for curry 😊 the staff too were so very helpful
Nice atmosphere and good food but very noicy.Nice staff.
Nice food,we had a business menu and a vegetarian one(vegetarian menu was great). The only I did not like was the seabass that could be fresher. The lamb kebab was insane. Next time I would order a biryani that looked great
Service was great
Wonderful food. Really good service.
My only issue is that the tables were so close that every time someone walked past they bashed my chair. EVERY. TIME.
That said a WONDERFUL evening. Really Really good food.
Lobster SENSATIONAL. Service attentive and considered and for a venue based in Wardour St, it wasn’t ear numbingly noisy. In fact a really nice balance between buzz and calm. Great evening. Thoroughly recommend !
Food was delicious (the okra not so much) and a really interesting array of tastes. The decor was great and the rose was fantastic
Possibily the worst Indian food we had in London and we have visited many restaurants. Thought I would give this one a try and was disappointed.
The quality of the food produce was of poor standard and overly priced.
The food came out cold and the platter of kebabs came with no sauces or garnishes, not even a wedge of lemon;when we enquired about it, we were told no nothing comes with it!!!
Very few dishes seection a la carte, bad food, very expensive, very noisy, and the service is just normal
I would recommend this to friends, however I would hope for them that the restaurant doesn't put them up next to a group of shouting youngsters.
The noise levels did spoil the beginning of the evening. On top of that, the staff didn't intervene and left it to ourselves to ask the table if they could please get the volume levels down to a normal level.
Beautiful decor was let down by mediocre food. Starters were fair but our two main dish curries were very unimaginative. A thin sauce with no sign of a vegetable, even an onion.
We had no wine and the bill was just short of £90.....expensive even for London. Such a shame as we only had two nights in the city.
Second time I've visited Tamarind. The food is delicous and the service was fantastic. Our server took great care of me and my partner who was running very late. She ensured our food arrived quickly so we could still get to the theatre on time and made me feel really welcome and that nothing was too much bother. Highly recommend.
Fantastic shrimp and lobster dishes...
Super food - lovely blends of spices. A lovely waitress who was very attentive (but not intrusive).
Good choice of food and drinks which were fairly priced
soft shell crab was dry and flavourless, prawn curry had the consistency of water and was bland, crispy squid was ok-ish. garlic naan was good. mango and avocado salad was messy and difficult to eat. mixed grill for £19 was 2 small pieces of lamb kebab, one tiny piece of chicken and one prawn, taste was nothing spectacular so I don't know how they can justify charging that much. A lot of money for well below average. Not worth it.
fantastic food and we were treated super nice. we were looking for great indian food in a not too formal/casual environment and were totally happy with the choice.
The food and service was great but our table was situated in an awful location. Right by the kitchen gateway so was noisy and we had a constant stream. We asked to move but there were no available tables. There should not be a table in that corner location. After a long week you want to be able to relax and enjoy your dinner which was sublime I might add!
Fantastic place; always go there. Food is outstanding and super wine choices
Very much enjoyed food and drinks (I recommend chilli/mango martini). Atmosphere and staff very nice
The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. However, the portion size for what we paid was not at all worth the meal. Over £60 for a meal for two and it was just not worth it. I would not recommend this to anyone.
Poor experience. After another customer broke a glass and the glass dispersing over over table and over us the manager ignored our complaint and then we where left waiting for a dessert menu for 30mins.
Excellent food, nice presentation and a very enthusiastic waitress who was also very helpful and « smart ». I had ordered a side portion of rice and she very nicely pounted out that my vegetarian meal already had rice in it. In many restaurants they would not pay attention to these details. I also had a glass of wine (Malvec) and their Moscato for « dessert ». It was lovely. I would definitely go there again!!!
Good food, good service, good ambiance, bit on the expensive side...
Absolutely love this place. Every time we go to London, we book this place for one evening. I recommend the set menu to get a chance to taste a modern twist of indian cuisine. Over the years I booked for business and also just a relaxed dinner with my lovely wife. Thank you again for great service and great food. A special thanks to our server Yolanda who was top of the line!
The food was good, just a bit on the expensive side.
All the food tasted lovely, though some dishes could have been hotter. There was only us and one other table in but the service was dreadfully slow and disorganised. Being so quiet it lacked atmosphere, but would be fine with more people - provided the service could cope!
The food tasted and looked amazing with a modern twist on some Indian classics. Some of the dishes on the menu were very original in their concept. The Service was really good too. It's not the cheapest place in London but you get what you pay for. The picture with this review is the deconstructed passion-fruit trifle.
Great food, tried a couple of vegetarian dishes had never seen on a menu before and they were just lovely. A good level of spice and innovative too. Lovely staff, quite quiet for a Sunday lunchtime, but that was okay with us.
Great meal on a saturday early evening. Lovely service. Relaxing. Fabulous flavours.
Yes more expensive than your average curry .. but this isnt your average curry!
Loved it! 😊
One of best Indians in town!
