    We requested a table outside to watch a Thursday night game for a group of 8 people. We were told they couldn’t accommodate that request when we arrived. Although we saw several open tables. The hostess did seem to be trying her best to make us happy but the evening was not what we expected. Server was ok, but was not very attentive. We ordered 4 different appetizers (all tasty) but they came out 20 minutes from each other. Left before game and dinner.

    I wanted to share some feedback on our experience on 10/20 at Tap 42. I had a reservation for 8 people at 6:30 pm. On first note, it wasn’t visibly busy inside. There were a lot of empty tables. We get seated and get our drinks which took about 25 mins to get to our table. At this point it is 7:15 pm and we ordered our food. As a type one diabetic, I have to time my insulin accordingly. I usually give about 20-25 mins for food to arrive. It was about 8 pm and our food has still not arrived. At this point my blood sugar started to drop. No one came to update us on the time our food will arrive. We started noticing the people who sat after us, left before us. Normally at this point a manager should have came to talk to us and apologize but we did not get any of that. Around 8:30 our food has arrived and one of the guests order was messed up. He ordered a steak sandwich but what came out was just steak. The guests who had fries as their side for the caesar wraps said they were cold. The manager finally comes out to talk after one of the guests spoke up to our waitress about how we should be accommodated a discount for waiting so long. The manager never apologized. She tried to gaslight the guest into saying “I heard someone may have ordered a steak, or maybe ordered a steak sandwich?” She then made an excuse that they were not expecting it to be so busy in Mercato that night due to the Halloween event and how there was something wrong with the chicken ceasar wrap station. The guest who got the order messed up decided he didn’t want food any more but ultimately he was given the steak sandwich to take home. We’re all laid back people and all we wanted was honesty. At this point we were one of the only tables left in the restaurant. We were comped our first round of drinks and appetizers but at the end of the day the service was not the greatest. This was in no way the waitress’s fault. Just wanted to share our experience.

    This is my 3rd time here got the same waiter twice I and I am surprised the employee is still there. Absolutely no manner or courtesy to the customers. If kindly asking for a water refill multiple time gets you eye rolls then I guess they need to advise their customers that the new generation of waiter/employees comes with an attitude. Sad to see this new Gen Z think they know it all. They have no idea what the world has coming for them.

    This is our 4th time eating at Tap 42. We always love the food, but we have yet to have good service. All 4 times the dining room was not busy- so it’s not as though the servers were swamped. The calamari came out cold- as it did the last time we visited. This time we didn’t even send it back because we never knew when we would see our waitress again. Our drinks were almost empty when the food was delivered. Completely empty halfway through our meal. Still no server. I ordered a 3 course meal. We were so ready to leave so we finally found a manager and asked for our bill and to have our dessert to go. The waitress finally showed up as the manager was at the table. She was defensive. “Your dessert is on the way!!!” Then she came back with an empty box- for the pie. I said- we don’t even have the dessert yet. Again she was snippy- “They don’t let us box it in the kitchen!” The last thing I needed after feeling stranded at the table without service is to be lectured by the snotty waitress after not taking care of us. There are too many great restaurants to deal with this. As much as we like the food-not sure it’s worth dealing with the staff.
