Truly the best restaurant near Vatican, in the historical Borgo area. Taverna Angelica restaurant has been creating traditional recipes with a modern mediterranean style and taste. For the past 20+ years, the restaurant continues to add new cooking techniques to realize unique dishes. Using some of the best seafood and select meats coming from the top farms around the world. A wonderful selection of notable wines beautifully showcased in the dining area. A cosy and comfortable setting, relaxing music, and servers that speak Italian, English, French and Spanish.

    It was a very quite night with very few pantheons which was most unlikely for other nights because the food, wine, and service were stellar. Definitely something we wrote home about. A wonderful find and recommend.

    We wanted an experience, and that's what we got. Staff were friendly and very informative, explaining both each course and the wine paired with the courses. We had the 5 course meal with wine pairing at a cost of €105 pp, that's not what we got, once seated we got an apperatife and a small tasting starter of 3 amuse bouche and a side of 3 different bread sticks, all not part of the actual 5 courses. Then we got a warm crusty roll, big enough for 2 with a delicious mushroom salted butter (which I wanted to take home in a bucket) and your 5 courses. Ok finished, no. We then got a pallet cleanser of an apple and basil ice lolly, then a dessert which was so light but so tasty. Finished now, no. As a thank you we were then given a platter of 4 sweets, one of which to me sounded too strange, a white chocolate filled with an oozy tomato coulis but omg again I would buy these. It was Def an experience and was by far the best meal we have had over 2 trips to Rome. Would advise people to give it a try 💯

    Very nice service personnel, nice atmosphere. Quality of food and dishes was unfortunately not at the expected level. Value for price of the menu not sufficient.
