Service was only good because the server seemed to have too many tables. I thought he was a very good server, just not available when we were ready.
The service started out great, but then the server was hard to find, so that was disappointing. The was very good.
We were impressed with the brunch. The menu is small but what is offered is very good.
The food was a little bland and tasteless. Lacked seasoning. My fiance and I both had fish (salmon and the sea bass). Everything literally tasted like they just put butter on it. The setting is very nice, except we were seated next to the window and I kept my coat on the entire meal.
Love it! Everything was so good!
Delicious food, nice place to go for a date and then switch to the movie theater. I enjoyed the fact they take into account whether you have a movie planned and make sure you are in and out in time for your movie.
Fabulous experience from start to finish everytime! Food, service and atmosphere is on point! I usually sit, to the left, in the bar/lounge area, to do a little work and enjoy some of Peter's libations! Top notch mixologist! This is Alpana Singh's spot/"Check Please" host & she does not disappoint! She is also a wonderful person & know her wine! Grazie, to all!!!
The meal was delicious, the ambiance nice and the service was excellent!
So this is a difficult one. I had searched open table for a pizza restaurant - this came up and and I reserved but guess what!? No pizza served on Sunday lunchtime.
So either Open table needs to sort out its tagging or there should be a note when you book. After 2 weeks away we just wanted a simple thin crust pizza but instead we had to do sandwiches and breakfast.. our server asked the kitchen if they could accommodate but the dough wasn’t ready. Shame
On paper the menu looked good
Our server wasn’t a massively happy person. I had no idea that the restaurant closed at 2.30pm and we spent 15 mins deciding our food. In the meantime we weren’t offered drinks - weird but tbh we didn’t even realise because I was so annoyed with the passive aggressive response (when I said we were ready to order) of “that would be good as we close in 15 mins” Jeez. So why not say when we arrive that he would appreciate us ordering promptly because the kitchen would be closing.
Again Open table took our table reservation of 2pm for a table if 6. If the restaurant couldn’t accommodate then they shouldn’t offer that time.
Food: colder than I would have expected
Took a while to assemble
We had avocado toast, country breakfast, kids cheeseburger, grilled chicken sandwich, calamari
Calamari tasted very good although not that hot. a burger was eaten quickly, potatoes hash - sliced potatoes wasn’t enjoyed by hubby or son. Again a little cold. Hubby wondered if they had turned the fryer off and quickly put it on when we ordered.
Server got better as the meal progressed although
I’d give this place another go in the evening to see if it is better - I don’t believe in one time and you are our mentality - we all have bad days!
Excellent place for dinner. Wonderful food, great and accommodating service. Definitely would go there again. Everyone in our group had a great time and would recommend and return. Great value and the Mussels Bomba were awesome!
We went on a Sunday after a concert. We were one of the first clients of the evening. Service was good and the wine paired with the meal was great. The positions were very generous. The food itself, while nicely prepared was not unique.
The dinner was very nice. The waiter was attentive, but missing at the end. I also ordered a nice bottle of wine and it was out of stock.
Pretty empty on a Wednesday evening. Food was quite good. Interior needs some touching up. Especially noticed if you headed toward the restrooms. Kinda messy...
Mediocre food, nothing to write home about or recommend.
Horrible food, not an italian restaurant, a joke. Service good but food very bad.
Terrific meal, great wine list and excellent service. Overall great value for the experience. My Short Rib was delicious and paired great with the Chianti Classico Riserva we selected.
Went there for one of our frequent Tuesday Night dinners. Split the Pear Salad and Short Rib Ravioli Marsala with my wife. So good! Ended with the Tiramisu. Thumbs up as always
This was our first time there. The food was wonderful. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful.
Food was great - and portions well sized. Service was not up to scratch but it was after the movie and the restaurant was realy crowded, so one has to make allowances. I really recommend the mussels.
First time there. They were packed. Great service. Will for sure return.
On a rainy, late Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was cheery and full of life. The service and food was exceptional. And best of all, the featured Italian Wines selected by the Sommelier, were outstanding. Highly recommend for couples, groups, and/or families. Convenient Self Park garage across the street.
Great restaurant. The food was good - the appetizers in particular really good. The service was amazing. Really enjoyed this place.
The food and service were excellent. The roasted cauliflower was delicious and very filling as were the mussels which came topped with a "flying saucer" of pita bread for dipping into the savory broth. This restaurant is a jewel and one that we will return to often.
Great service and very lovely inside. The wine list was well built and the appetizers and salad were fine but the entrees were a bit lacking in flavor.
Beautiful restaurant, great good.
The wine list is the star here. Food is good but nothing you would want to come back for. Service was terrific though. Need a little more interest added to the room [ art and lose the 70s ferns ] and get back to using the wood burning oven for pizzas, etc. Salads never seem to hit the mark but appetizers are generally very good. Keeping it simple will go a long way to this restaurant surviving. Would only recommend for good bottle of wine and appetizers.
Great table for 8 in a back secluded area. Was perfect- kids could play a bit and we didn’t bother anyone
This was our first experience at Terra & Vine. There were some hits and some misses but they made good on the misses. Our server was wonderful, attentive but not intrusive. They were out of the wine we wanted but he substituted a good alternative. The cauliflower and Brussels Sprouts dish he recommended as an appetizer was actually an entrée, so plenty for 3 to share. And it was delicious. My only suggestion would be to forego the big glob of dark pesto over it. The dish was pretty and would have been better without it. My roasted chicken was just so-so. The breast piece was cooked well, but the skin wasn't nice and crispy like I like. Luckily, I had eaten that before I cut into the thigh piece. It was undercooked and a little trail of blood oozed out. Yuck. But, I was full at that point. I pointed it out to the server just so he could advise the chef. Undercooked chicken is dangerous. Without prompting, they delivered two desserts for us to share. My husband had a pasta dish with sausage and he enjoyed it. My cousin had a different (vegetarian) pasta. I tasted a bit and it was ok. Not spectacular. I think a $19 bowl of pasta should wow you.
Was “just okay” food and not great service. The dishes looked great, but lacked very much flavor. Our server seemed rushed constantly and we had to ask for refills before we would get them. They comp’d our dessert which was nice, but we see no reason to return.
Visiting my daughter and her new boyfriend at college.
Our waiter was outstanding! After someone served my husband the wrong dinner our waiter noticed right away and took care of it quickly.
I had the cauliflower dish it was a tad salty to my liking. My friend had the salmon which was cooked perfectly to his liking. The lentils and green beans were a nice compliment. The waitress Mallory was exceptional friendly and perfect with timing. I also find the host very accommodating and friendly. The best part of the evening was the bottle of wine we ordered. It was an Italian frappato . Very enjoyable for three people to share and a complete compliment to the dinners.
We were seated in a room that reminded one of a library. It was charming. Our waitress was extraordinarily helpful and pleasant, even jolly. The food was wonderful, and Alpana's suggested wines were great. It would be hard to find a better meal in Evanston.
Order the Roasted Cauliflower as an App or entree. Delicious! Wonderful food, great service.
An amazing experience, as always. This time we did the special Valentines Day prix fixe menu, and it did not disappoint. Lobster bisque was excellent - not as thick as I'm used to but it had all of the depth of flavor. The red beet risotto was surprisingly amazing. My fiance had the golden beet carpaccio and branzino with couscous. The fish was just as good as what you would get any any of the high end seafood restaurants downtown. And the wine pairings were phenomenal! Alpana has yet to disappoint.
Was nice valentines date
The food took a very long time; my partners dish came cold.
It was fun seeing Alpana Singhgh in the restaurant.
New menu has improved the offerings and the execution is much better than when we were there last. Special wine offerings are a real value and outstanding. Given the owner's background, the winelist is a real star here! Noticed Ms. Singh in the restaurant but she didn't make the rounds. The truly best of the best have owners that are out and about watching every detail. That touch would definitely elevate the place from very good to outstanding.
The very least of what is expected of Arpana.
