Terrible service and meat coming our table every 20 minutes. Food was good though
The service was awful, the waiter did not want to bring the correct meat, the plates where never change, he would take our glass with the refills and touch our straws. The service used to good, but it went down hill.
Surprisingly for Father's Day it was not that busy. You would think that the meat rotation would go faster however it was very slow. We were waiting quite a while to get a piece of meat. Also out of the 16 meats listed on their menu only 9 were available. And of that 9 there were 4 that only came around one time. They did bring around bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers once when my son asked if we could get more the gaucho said they would have any for a couple of hours. Our waiter really did not check in on us a lot. For a meal that cost $45 a person it left much to be desired. Also when we got home both my husband and I had meat juice dripped all over our pants.
Overly awful experience. We realize there is an issue getting workers at most places of business, so we took that into consideration. But, overall it was just an awful experience. We didn’t have much meat that actually made it to our table in the 90+ minutes we were there. And, the meat that did come was overly-charred on the outside. The service was ok for the current circumstances. The lobster bisque was good, as was most of the other items on the salad bar. But, the meat, which is supposed to be the main attraction at all Brazilian steakhouses, was a huge letdown and this Father’s Day meal was incredibe waste of money. I don’t believe we will return.
First, it was very very cold in the dining room. Uncomfortably so. Secondly, the meat wasn’t coming around quickly at all. We would wait at least 15 minutes between meats and the place was not that busy. We asked twice for a certain meat. We were told they had it but never brought it around. Plus, we had to wave the meat carriers down for them to bring us meat. Less than stellar experience. We have been here before but this visit was not great especially for the money we paid.
Even though the meat was good, the variety and timeliness was not up to normal Texas de Brazil standards. I understand Covid has an impact on the availability of staff, limited supply chains, etc, but the price of the meal did not change. So with that being said, overall it was good, but not the value we normally experience with Texas De Brazil.
Very EXPENSIVE and it was just okay! Was so stocked about going and trying this and sad that it was a bummer!
For a place that specializes in preparation of meat I was disappointed that almost every selection offered was over cooked. All but one were well done.
The salad bar was perfect.
The table they sat us at was dirty. We had to wipe it off ourselves. Then she took our drink order. The drinks sat at the bar for 15 minutes. Eventually we got the manager and he brought them to us. The waitress was a ditz and barely did her job. The salad bar was nothing to enjoy. There was lettuce, dressing that was empty and croutons. No other toppings. No onion or cheese. It was a joke. The meat was horrible. I tried everything and pushed it all to the side of my plate. Everything tasted like it had gone bad or something. One of the servers dropped the meat on the table. ( the same table we had to clean ourselves). That was the last piece of that meat selection. He said hed be right back and he never came back. It was an awful experience that cost us $160 with drinks and tip. We will never come back. We will never recommend to anyone. We already told all our family how horrible it was. I was waiting for Ashton Kutcher to come out and tell us we've been pranked. I learned my lesson, we will remain loyal to Tuscanos in St. Charles. Heck, even the McDonald's we had on the way home was better then this waste of money. I honestly have no idea how it is even still open.
Food was good, plenty of servers for the meats and good pacing.
Found it odd that they told our party of three to wait outside since we were there 8 minutes early. When we were seated, on time, I noticed they let other patrons wait inside and get service at the bar. Isn't an huge deal, but interesting that they let more than one party after us do that.
We had a reservation but still waited 20 minutes to be sat and it was not busy. Meat was salty, not bad or anything but not nearly as good as before covid.
Been to this location multiple times. Saturday evening service and food timing is not as good as late afternoon. Will not return at this time again.
Worst experience at a Brazilian steakhouse ever. Have eaten an a few different Texas De Brazil before and this has to the worst. Period. All of these style restaurants have 10 to 12 servers walking around with different kinds of meat and this one had 2 and towards the end a third person was seen. Waitress was extremely friendly, but after we got our drinks, never came to table again until the end and apologized for not being back sooner. Bartender looked as if she was new and clueless and waitstaff and manager were back there making drinks. Meat servers were horrible and spilling juice off of trays all over table and floor and slashed myself a couple of times. At $45 a person, more is definitely expected. Most meats were over cooked and very chewy while one was so undercooked, not even considered rare. Whole experience was not even worth it at a tenth of the price. Never will go back, but should also mention that I do not live here and was just visiting my daughter. Have always had a great experience at other Texas De Brazil, but if I had eaten here first, would have never eaten at any other. I was embarrassed to have taken my daughter and her boyfriend there as they had never been to this style restaurant. I assured them that this not even close to the standard anywhere else!!!
Nothing like Chicago
Poor service, waitress, had to give us3d plates to managers standing observing nothing.
Anniversary champagne toast for1? Told only for I person
Oh well it was a night out, they need help here
Service was slow. Drinks took 15 minutes and they were not busy at that time. Food was good but overpriced.
There was not as much meats passed as usual. It took at least 10 mins of sitting before our first meat. All meat was over cooked.
This is supposed to be the premier Brazil style restaurant. It was certainly no better than Tuscanos in St. Charles, which is cheaper. The meat was OK, but in the beginning it was undercooked and as the meal progressed it was very well done. Side items were not brought to our table until more than halfway through dinner. The salad bar was probably the best part of the experience. These types of restaurants can be kind of hectic, but this one seemed more so. We felt rushed and a fine dining dinner should not be finished in under an hour. Our meal took about 55 minutes from the time we arrived until we left the establishment. I cannot recommend this restaurant at 50+ dollars per person it fell way short of expectations.
Very clean. Nice staff. Very pleased. Great food.
I waited a long time since COVID to get some steak. This is the only place I know that knows how to cook steak the right way.
Ambiance was pretty good, service was OK and food was mostly bland
I have been to multiple Texas de Brazil’s, this is the only time I had left overs
I just keep giving these guys a chance to get their act together and just keep getting disappointed. This is probably my 4th or 5th visit this year starting in February or so and they continue to disappoint. The problem is still not with the food or the staff, it appears to just be the lack of adequate staff. There simply isn't enough meat being cooked or being served during what I would consider the "prime time" dinner hours of about 5-7. It is pretty common place to not have any meat come to your area at all for 10-20 minutes at a time sometimes which is just crazy at the prices they charge. What I noticed this last visit that may be a reason why not nearly as much meat is coming around to the tables is the carryout orders. You can see them in the back all the time pulling meat off the heat, cutting it up and putting it in to go containers for to go orders. It makes me wonder if that is the reason people dining are sort of getting left behind is because the meat is so frequently going out on to go orders instead of making it's way around the dining room like it would have in the past. At this point the only reason I really continue to go is because I bought the discount card they sold earlier this year and I want to make sure and get all my uses from it, but even at half price I am still not sure it is worth it. Really hope this place can get back to how it used to be and was well worth the money. This is also not a set of problems other churrascaria places have as I have gone to some of their competitors in this same time frame and they are still giving top notch service and tons of meat. This specific location just appears to be struggling.
Our fist visit was outstanding. This was disappointing. We live in Austin Texas and have 2 Brazilian restaurants there. Estansia and Fogo de chao. My birthday. Reservation was for 4:00pm . We had to wait 20 minutes outside so they could set tables. They were not ready for our party of 8. There was another group about the same size. They also had to wait. We had to ask for plates for the meat. When meat did come out there was not enough. You don’t go to a table of 8 with 2 sausages or with 1 piece of filet mignon on the skewer. We had to keep asking for meat. Servers were few I think only 2. They started to remove plates then stopped when we asked for 5 cups of coffee. So we had dirty plates, when we finally got the coffee with the birthday cake. Cups were only half full. Not a large selection of meats offered.
Waitstaff was inexperienced, host was slow and unorganized and food service was slow and unusual for Texas De Brazil.
The food was great and all the servers were very friendly.
Waaaayyyy too expensive for what you get. You can get the same experience at Tucanos for half the price.
Service was very slow. Over 3 hours start to finish.
Service was horrible we had an reservation and still did not get seated for 40 minutes after our reservation we didn't get much food brought to our table so we didn't have chance to really enjoy our food overall I was very disappointed
Service was awful from every angle. From not being acknowledged by four different people at the bar when we were trying to ask a question to our drinks never being filled, nor an offer to get another alcoholic drink after the first. When we didn’t see our server for most of our time there, we asked another for help getting more drinks and they said “I don’t do that, you’ll have to ask your server.” This would have been fine, except we couldn’t get our server.
The plates piled up to the point we couldn’t go back for anything else. We wanted dessert and wanted wine, but no one. By the time we finally got our ticket, we had given up.
We will not be back despite the well-cooked food and nice ambiance. There was such potential for us to have a great dinner, but the service ruined that.
Not the way to celebrate an anniversary and birthday at all.
Staff was limited so service was extremely slow. We waited for seating even after having a reservation. We waited for drinks, didn’t have water or napkins until well into the night. The same meat was being offered, there was no selection.
Our initial contact upon arrival was less than pleasant with the Hostess, but after finally being seated, everything was exceptional! The service and food were excellent!!!!! We will definately return.
Very expensive and bad food. Worst meal I’ve had in a long time.
Asked to wait until entire party of 6 arrived, moments later everyone present, no table of six in restaurant. Taken to table of four, chair pulled up to each end, one end a place setting set while we waited, other end place setting dropped off all stuck in glass to set up ourselves.
Service slow, more people were in back of restaurant, so food was not brought by very often, we were in front and few tables, so less interest.
Asked how like meat cooked, I specifically requested some well done meat, was brought 1x, 1 serving.
We were celebrating a graduation. No one asked, they don’t care.
My family and friends had a great time yesterday, they were an 100% satisfactory with the crew.
The foods are excellent! The only problem I noticed is that although dessert is introduced in the same way on the menu as the soup salad bar and meat selections they are in fact charged separately which is a bit misleading marketing.
We have been here a few times. The service this time was absolutely awful. We were not brought out some of the extra foods we were supposed to get. When you spend over $250 for 4 people for dinner, it's disappointing. We will not be going back.
Excelente service . The special attention . Food delicious
We had a surprisingly disappointing evening at this restaurant. We made reservations for son's birthday at his request and selected a time that we figured all variety of meats would be available. Unfortunately due to staffing issues, we sat at the table for two hours with extremely slow meat service. Also, the sides like mashed potatoes and bananas weren't even brought out until an hour into our meal...
We did notice that an extremely large party that was sitting right next to the kitchen was very well taken care of and every meat offering that came out, that table was visited first and finished all that was available. The rest of the restaurant did not get the same level of service.
We also learned from our waiter that we weren't the only ones that noticed this issue that evening. The manager didn't come over to us until we asked for a second time. However by that point there wasn't really much he could do to make it right other than offer a small discount. For that reason I am giving 3 stars instead of 2 stars the experience truly deserves.
The meat was delicious . And the salad bar is open again where you put on plastic gloves to serve yourself. It felt very clean and safe.
I'm not sure what to think... we were there about a month ago and it was fantastic. So maybe we'll give it one more shot. If it's better, I will come back and update my review.
We drove 3 hours from Springfield to go to dinner for a friends 30th, the restaurant was severely under staffed. Our waiter was doing the best he could with a large number of tables. The problem was the meat, you come here for the variety of meat choices that are cooked to perfection. This was not the case. There were maybe 3 people coming around with the meat options, but it was only filet mignon wrapped in bacon, sausage, and filet not wrapped in bacon, that was pretty much it. It also seemed like the “gauchos” walking around with the food were the ones cooking it, instead of the normal chefs in the back. So it took 15 minutes at least between each cut of meat they would bring by. The meat wasn’t seasoned as it usually was - some way over peppered and some hardly seasoned at all. We were told by our waiter a lot of the staff took off for religious reasons, I wish we were told this before we sat down, we would’ve gone elsewhere and had a more pleasant experience. We were here for 2.5 hours and literally got 6 pieces of meat - most of which was the same thing. Highly disappointed in this experience.
Not enough of a selection and the food they did have was overcooked. The best thing was the salad bar.
the food was amazing! we were really impressed with the salad bar and of course the meat. everything was juicy and flavorful!
