The Bear of North Moreton is a welcoming village pub in North Moreton, South Oxfordshire that dates back to the 16th century and has always been the heart of the village. We offer a humble menu of traditional home-cooked pub dishes, using the best local producers and seasonal ingredients. We serve a range of ales, beer, and cider and have a small and curated wine list.

There’s a large beer garden that backs onto the village cricket pitch, and we hope to open up the Aunt Sally pitch soon.

Came for a Sunday roast and the staff were extremely accommodating and allowed us to have our food later than usual as one person was running late. The pork roast is delightful as well as the hollygog pudding! Dog friendly was a perk, with lots of space!

As always, a lovely time at The Bear. Food was good. Starters were magic. Mains were okay but a few things were a bit different to usual and not as tasty. Puddings are always a bit of a let down but were mostly good on this occasion. One pudding was a bit stale and didn’t have enough custard… Great taste though and we will certainly be going back. Nice drinks and really good service, especially for how busy it was.

I have lunch out with a friend every 4 weeks. We like to try different pubs and this is one of the best. The abmbiance is very pleasent with beams and a log fire. We both chose the cumberland sausage served with spinach and mashed poatato. The onion gravy was espedially nice. The portion was a sensible size so that we did not feel bloated when leaving. We sat comfortably chatting for 3 hours; thgere was bno pressure to leave and the manager seemed genuinely pleased that we had enjoyed our visit.

Always enjoy a roast dinner at The Bear, probably the best we’ve had in the area. Service was great and staff are always very friendly. We will be back!

The three of us had the Sunday beef roast which was excellent, with an great vegetable variety, we couldn’t fault it. We will definitely be returning. The ambience was great and welcoming and a lovely warm fire kept us cosy on a cold Sunday.
