   The setting is lovely and the food was quite good, but the service was atrocious, especially in relation to our (extremely high - more than $500 for 5 people) bill. Our waitress, who was certainly trying her best, told us when we sat down that drinks were taking forever because the bartender was new. Our appetizers came long before the drinks, and when the drinks came they were very, very wrong. Going up to the bar to correct made it clear that the bartender was not only new to the restaurant, she was new to bartending or alcoholic drinks in general. The food was really great - especially the brussels sprouts, Cobb salad, Thai seafood curry and a meat pasta. But waiting forever for everything and having most dishes come out wrong made it unlikely we'll ever return. There's a lot of good food in the East Bay!

   We were seated at a table that had no relief from the direct rays of the summer sun. The reflexion of the sun had us change our positions periodically during dinner. The service person was friendly -- too friendly. The food was very good.

   It was by birthday and my husband and I went there to celebrate. It was our first time. The location and ambiance was very good and the staff was attentive, polite and professional. I especially appreciated our waiter whose name I can’t remember (sorry) who took time to take pictures of us. We will definitely go back.

   No host or hostess available to seat us. No other restaurant personnel helped. In fact, we were told we would just have to wait. I finally went to the hotel guest gift shop and asked just me. The service was so poor, we finally walked out.

   We made a reservation for outdoor dining and when we got there no outside tables were set up. It took forever just to get water and coffee. The milk was lumpy that was brought for the coffee. No one took our order for quite a while. Once we ordered about 20 min later someone came to ask if our order had been taken. Food finally came and my friend ordered salmon ceaser salad but the salmon was on the side. I added bacon to my burger than they forgot and the food was luke warm. They didn’t ask if we wanted anything else and left the bill. Then wouldn’t collect the bill after we told multiple people we were ready so we had to walk it and hand it to someone. Needless to say, not impressed and seemed like the staff didn’t know what they were doing.

    Poor service: forgot items requested; wrong items brought to our table. Waiter only returned at the end. Made our party of two sit at tiny drink/bar tables; would not let us use regular table for four, yet the tables went unused for the one hour we were there. This restaurant has a very dated decor in keeping with the Double Tree Hotel where it is located. I wil not return again.

    We enjoyed dinner and breakfast at this restaurant. Service was great and every selection was outstanding. At dinner, the calamari, salmon, and fish&chips were all perfectly prepared. For breakfast everything was delicious, poached eggs were perfect, and the meal portions were generous.

    I really enjoyed the location, so beautiful right out on the water. Definitely worth coming to sit outside and have a beer. Their whiskey flight also was excellent. The food though was not good, the mussels we were served had turned. Would not recommend coming for a meal.

    I guess we didn’t realize that this restaurant was inside of the double tree Hilton hotel which kind unexpected. Food was good… the employees were awesome. Our server was great!

    Such an awesome location & beautiful space. The service was a bit spotty but we came at a weird time . . . .4:30 pm so maybe it was just a shift change sort of thing? The food was OK - nothing bad but for the price, I was expecting more. I will say the wine list is phenomenal, craft beers on tap & the cocktails were fantastic! Overall, I will return but probably more for drinks & appetizers.

    If you want to wait forever for service and then to get cold food, start your night at the Boathouse. While the view is wonderful, nothing else is.

    Service was very slow . We waited too long for our food!. We dined outdoor and my husband had to go inside the restaurant to hollow up on our food.Food was good but not for the price. We ordered the halibut and it did not taste fresh. Staff were not very accommodating to our needs. When we got our check the amount of tip was already there. We paid it but I don’t think they deserved that tip. A lot of times even if the food is not that good or even if it’s expensive , reviews are good because of service . I seldom write reviews but this was really not a good experience.

    We asked to be seated outside, which we were, but although there were heaters (unnecessary for brunch), not a lot of shade. The service was sooooo incredibly slow… from taking our drinks order to getting the drinks, then taking food order and getting food was way to slow for this party of four (they didn’t seem to have a lot of other customers!) When 3 meals came out (1 had forgetter the added egg!), we were told they were out of the fourth meal completely, so that person had to order something else, but our food was served. This resulted in 3 people eating in front of the 4th person; by the time the 4th meal came out, we were done with ours. Wife had to go to bar herself to get refill on iced tea because service was so slow. Carafe of water was left as we were seated, and not refilled the entire meal (on a very hot afternoon). In the end, the food that we had was good, but the $ and bad service cannot compensate.
