The Crown, Smallburgh is a beautiful thatched country pub serving up great value, home cooked food and well kept real ales. Join us for lunch or dinner, breakfast on the weekends and traditional roasts on Sunday. Make the most of our daily deals, which include 2 for £24.95 and Kids Eat for £1. We have a cosy bar area, a lovely separate dining room, and a large beer garden to enjoy on those warmer days. We are family & dog friendly, with water bowls and treats by the entrance, and play equipment in the garden.

Nice pub with a cute country vibe, nice drinks and seating area. Food was a bit disappointing, asked for the pie of the day and was told it was shepards but they failed to mention the steak and ale which other diners were told about, burgers were overcooks with incorrect ingredients as advertised such as no bretzel bun or cheese, steak was asked to be cooked as medium but was clearly well done, fish was overcooked with bones in it. Starters were good and people were friendly just wasn’t the standard of food that was advertised/ that we were expecting.

Amazing staff really friendly and welcoming, food was great and the price was astounding reasonable at a time where everyone else seems to be rising their prices.

Nice little pub, very accommodating to us. We had someone with a dairy free requirement and they were more than happy with that. We had a baby with us and they were alright with it, the only thing to be conscious of is they don't have a changing facility but if you are confident to work around that like we were you'll be just fine. The staff were lovely and service was great. We all had a Sunday roast and everyone was very happy with the food and portions.

We were very disappointed with our Mothering Sunday lunch. We all had a roast which was served cooler than lukewarm. We did say something, and we were all given fresh hot lunches, which was nice (but by this point we had been there over an hour). Plus points: Good value and friendly waitress. Bad points: The ambience could be improved & the speed of service.

Service was great. Food was good, but plates were overloaded which was off putting. Sunday roast was advertised to have 5 different veg, which would have been more than enough, but it came with 7 types of veg plus potatoes, all piled high. Either stick to veg as shown on menu or put the veg in a separate dish, not on the plate. Starter was just right. One of us is GF and they did go out of the way to accommodate, but Sunday roast wasn’t a GF option. Would go again but not for Sunday lunch.

sunday roast was not as good as normal this week. no stuffing, meat was a bit chewy, the whole thing was just not uo to its normal standard.

Exceptional value for money- Dining room is clean, tidy , warm and nice place to sit and eat. One of the best places to eat and drink in the immediate ares.
