The Elgin is a bar & restaurant serving upscale fare situated just south of Rockefeller Center & steps from Broadway & Times Square. Our goal is to provide sophisticated cocktails, a carefully curated craft & seasonal beer list, amazing food in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Please join us!
The Elgin’s 4 main principals, Peter Pernicone, Darwin Conner, Paul Baum & Christine Trauben, have known each other for 30 years. They all grew up on the lower west side of NYC in Chelsea & had a goal of owning a bar together & could not be more excited about opening The Elgin. As an acknowledgment of their collective history, they named a signature cocktail—the Chelsea 1724—after their neighborhood. Darwin & Paul grew up in Chelsea on 17th St and Peter & Christine lived on 24th St. They are joined by Patrick Callaghan who has been working with Peter for many years.

    Prompt service prior to a play. Food was very good. Place has a lot of energy. Would not recommend if you want a quiet conversation, but seemed to be a great after work place to go.

    The food here is mediocre at best. The ambiance is fine if you’re going to watch sports or drink with a friend. But the service we received was unacceptable. Our bartender ignored us several times while serving the folks who came in after we did. And I mean SEVERAL times. Won’t be back and unsure what gives them a 4.5 star rating.

    Food was great. Waitress was not. Had to ask for plates and silverware and she seemed annoyed. Cleared plates before we were done. Tried to walk in but was turned away and not asked if we wanted to wait. Made a reservation for 30 minutes later. Food almost made up for staff not so welcoming.

    We enjoyed our visit to The Elgin. The burger and avocado toast were both delicious. This spot is close to Radio City so it was the perfect pre-concert spot. The service was great.
