The Madison Bar & Kitchen
The Madison is open for dinner nightly at 5pm and brunch every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30am. Join us for our amazing bottomless mimosa bar and happy hour specials.
The service was excellent. Ambiance really cool - took my family out to dinner there and everyone agreed it was really cool. The sushi, tempura Brussels sprouts, and short rib were all delicious. Fish and chips weren’t the best I’ve had. Burgers were great too according to those who ordered. Would definitely come back and try a few other things on the menu.
Awesome drinks and food , including the sushi was excellent
Lived the ambiance, service and good at Madison! A great mix of food styles (some of us ordered sushi, some ordered short ribs) made for a great larger party dinner spot. Our waiter was fantastic!
Excellent service; must-try food! I would highly recommend this establishment for anyone looking for a great brunch meal in a pleasant setting. It is evident that the owner spent a lot of time designing the bar and restaurant, and it shows!
The Madison had a solid happy hour for being in a fairly expensive West Loop area. Half of Rosé and Old Fashioned cocktails, which were excellent. Our server was very friendly and helpful when asking about diet restrictions. They have a gluten free menu, which is what we ordered from. The food was very good, although a bit pricey for the amount you get, but the taste made up for it. I would definitely come back if in the area for happy hour.
I was not sure what to expect and I came with my parents and sister, all who I would say are quite judgmental. Overall, everyone loved our servers and staff as well as the food. The options were creative yet traditional so that they could appease any brunch goer. Highly recommend as it was a pleasant space that was comfortable and not too loud. Good to catch up with friends or family. Bonus, good brunch cocktails
Good place for a drink and some apps. Cool vibe. However the food on the main menu is just not that good based on what we ate and could see on other tables. We had the steak and fish and chips...average at best. Did not have it, but the burger looked really bad. not a place I would go out of my way to eat at again
Dined before a Blackhawks game after a recommendation from a friend. Food and service was excellent. Loved the half-price Old-Fashioneds. Provided transportation to the game. I've dined in a lots of spots around the United Center over the last several years and Madison Bar & Kitchen is now my go-to in the area.
Our food seemed under cooked and the server made us feel rushed.
We went for my fiancé’s birthday and it was a great experience! Never been to that restaurant before but we’ll defiantly be back! Our waiter was tall, bald, and had a beard. He was extremely nice & charismatic. We love that area because it’s not quit downtown but you can still see the city. It’s such a chill environment and not too busy. I also had the BEST chicken sandwich! Thank you for the great experience!
My wife and I enjoyed the meal and will be going back.
West loop never disappoints. Although the space was smaller than we expected it was still spacious enough that we didn’t feel like we were on top of one another. The noise level was louder than we would have liked. Food and drinks were great! Highly recommend the duck fat fries. Great atmosphere and decor. We were there for my mother’s birhday and they brought out a wonderful dessert surprise with candles. We will be going back!
Like it a lot, good vibe, trendy.
Food was fair but overpriced for the taste. It was a decent place
Food is outstanding, prices are what you would expect for downtown Chicago
The experience was amazing. Our waitress was very busy, but never forgot about our table. The food was delicious!
This was our second time here and both times were fantastic. It’s a little pricey but not overkill in my opinion. They’ve got a pretty large gluten free menu and everything from sushi to fries to lamb!
New Year’s Eve
As someone who frequents the Madison, my Caesar salad with chicken was disgusting. The dressing tasted like it was from a bottle at the grocery store and the “grilled” chicken looked like it was fake meat bought in a container and called “grilled”. The chicken had absolutely no taste near grilled chicken’s taste and it tasted like someone put a chicken breast in the oven to bake with no flavor. I was so disappointed with my meal, I won’t be back for a while and will never order the Caesar salad again.
Service - Outstanding
Cleanliness - Outstanding
Ambiance - Awesome
This is my new date night spot for drinks and appetizers. While we were not impressed with our dinners (fish and chips were bland and wagyu steak was dry and over-seasoned), the raw oysters and sushi were excellent and enough to make us come back.
Pleasantly surprised by the experience! The servers were the best and food was excellent!
From start to finish, amazing! Can’t wait to go back!
We went in for brunch on the 23rd, I really liked they had a Santa, that’s the main reason we went. I ordered the chilaquiles which were not for my taste at all. The sauce was sweet, if you’re into that, then you might like them; they were not for me. My husband ordered the steak and eggs and he really liked his dish, he said the steak was very tasty. The restaurant itself is very stylish and classic looking and the manager was very attentive. I will definitely be back, but I will try a different dish. One more thing to add, the staff was child friendly, this is a plus for young families like mine.
I’m live a block away and have given this place three chances before writing a review, which I never do, but since they keep asking, I will. The service is fine as is the ambiance I the bar, but the food is the worst in the neighborhood. In fact, it’s jist bad regardless of your neighborhood. In the past I’ve had the tilapia sandwich which was mushy and nasty. This time I had the chicken sandwich which had avacado on it and some sauce, making it mushy also since the bun was pretty soft. The cix itself was dense and seasoned but chic-fil-a is probably just as good. My 77 yo mom had the prime rib sand with horseradish and only are half and said it wasn’t very tasty. She’s generally not too tough to please,, which Is why I was back here in the first place. The philly steak down the street at Crossroads sports bar is good, so I’d recommend that instead. My daughters sushi came in a heap and had sauce drizzled all over it. It looked like a nacho platter of sushi, and she had a hard time digging the fish out with her chop sticks. They couldn’t even get the cheese curds right, again maybe undercooked and mushy. This place seems to do a lot of business for Hawks games and such. I’m not sure why, as Ive never had a good meal here and won’t be returning to eat. The bar scene is nice and the bartenders are friendly.
Celebrated the evening by dining at the restaurant. Staff was very attentive and welcoming. Food was fresh and very flavorful.
This place was so wonderful. The service was excellent and everyone appeared to be very happy that works there. Which makes a difference for an overall experience. Can’t wait to go back.
Great place for brunch however we had friends in the group with dietary restrictions and restaurant is not accommodating of such. They did their best effort but was a disappointing lunch for my friend that is a vegan. I think just being conscious of food allergies/avoidance in 2018 is important. Otherwise, it was super easy to make a reservation and the server was attentive and very welcoming.
Great place for before a Bulls game! Even though we were running late they saved our reservation and the shuttle made things so easy. Will definitely be back.
My girlfriends and I decided on The Madison to celebrate a birthday because it had openings and looked like a cool atmosphere. We were SO impressed from the minute we walked in. The atmosphere and interior design were awesome, from the velvet seat cushions to the details like rose gold silverware. The menu was unique and the food and drinks were phenomenal. Our server was fun and knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend it and come back again the next time we are in Chicago.
Had a very good brunch. Flavors were excellent. Restaurant is very comfortable. Street parking available.
Our 71 month anniversary and a great neighborhood place to celebrate!
Absolutely loved it! Food was delicious and service just a delight. Thanks Zack for giving us a memorable experience. Also, they have one of the best Old Fadhioned cocktails in Chicago!
Awesome place! Great food and cocktails! Staff super knowledgeable!
Food and drinks were great - lots of unique items on the menu - However, service was extremely slow for being the first table with a reservation, and one of only a handful throughout our entire meal.
Nice atmosphere and pretty place! I felt the food was mediocre but still good. I would try it again but not my top rating..
Great spot, did not disappoint. Lychee Martini was fantabulous, Old Fashioned was a little strong. Short Ribs of Beef were very good, my Steak was a tad bit dry, but edible. Need to work on their dessert menu. Will definitely be going back. Our server Samantha was fantastic and attentive.
Fun Pre Bulls game dinner
Great service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend!
I really enjoyed dinner at Madison Bar & Kitchen! I can’t wait to return!
Great atmosphere for our going away dinner. We really appreciated the helpfulness of the staff! The cocktails were great too!
