Booked a table for 3pm only to be told on arrival that the kitchen closes from 2:30-6pm! Update your settings here so people don't get caught out - like we nearly did! Also, surely keeping the kitchen open on a Saturday afternoon is worth it, no?

We booked The old Brewery Tavern on open table. The building is lovely & inside was also very nice, television was on which was a bit distracting. We all ordered steak & watched as each one was prepared . The steak was very well cooked & well presented but they were only warm which was so disappointing. We ate our meals & when the waitress took our plates we said the steak was only warm although beautifully cooked. She apologised & then came back & offered us 20% off the bill which was a nice gesture . Lovely restaurant just unfortunate that the steaks were out of the pan too long for plating up.

I guess at the time of my visit, it was very quiet. (only one other table there). So not much atmosphere, and the service was ok, not much of interaction in any way which was a shame. The food was fine, but the goat cheese starter was nice but nothing to rave about, the burger again was ok, (basket of bread - Outstanding). I think in regards of value for money, I would stick to their fine dining room as you can get nicer food for better value..

Food was bland and tasteless. There were good deals but I would rather pay more for better food. The dining room was dirty and the carpets were sticky. Not a good experience overall.

Really great quality of food - starters and desserts in-particular were outstanding. For the price we paid, on the toptable offer, this was outstanding value and we would definitely go again.

Food excellent and well presented. The set menu has limited options. One of the vegetarion options was 'off' so we were a little stuck. In the end my daughter chose a ploughmans minus the meat that would normally have been included. While there was no real obligation I was a bit disappointed to see that there was no price consideration for the missing meat or offer of extra cheese. We were also charged the price of the meal originally ordered but were too short of time to do anything about this. Service on the slow side and having been promised dessert in 5 to 10 minutes before deciding to order it actually took over 20 minutes. I was very happy with the food and would recommend it, the staff were also very pleasant and friendly

The food was good and excellent value with the TT deal, however the setting was a bit different to what I expected - it seems to be a pub with tables that turns into a dancefloor after the meals are done. As such, it didn';t quite have the ambience of a nice restaurant. But we'll probably return

we had lunch at The Old Brewery Tavern in Canterbury . I imagine that in the evening the bar is heaving with students as they offer special prices on drinks but at lunch time it is quieter but still has a nice atmosphere . We chose to eat of a special price menu which was excellent value 2 courses for 2 people and a bottle of wine for £30 (plus 12% service charge ) There is a very limited choice on this menu but the food is freshly cooked and well presented . A plate of bread & oil is included.

Our visit to the The Old Brewery Tavern in Canterbury was a plesant experiance except for the last course. We had the set lunch menu which for £9.95 (2 courses ) is exceptional value the starter was lovely we had chilli nachos and our other guests had the soup very good quality. Mains were very good portions sizes for a set menu good choice and quality excellent Now the bad bit we decided to have 3 courses (£14.95 ) and the desserts were dissapointing not enough sauce very dry but loved it
