Unusually, this hotel had nothing to offer in the way of non-alcoholic wine. Most pubs and restaurants do, so thisxwas very poor. The cappuccino didn't resemble cappuccino at all. On the plus🫥idea, the battered haddock was very tasty, and the young female waitress, cheerful and helpful.. A candle on the table, perhaps, or even flowerswould have created a better ambience.

The overall experience was great. Service very good ,only downside was my beef was a bit tough. My husbands food was excellent, Gravalax and Seafood Risotto. Very tastefully decorated.

Good food reasonably priced for Valentines Day. The restaurant itself is a huge dated and needs refurbishment and it was a little bit bright - needs warming up and darkening a little. But the food was very good and the service a little perfunctory but quick and comprehensive.

Even in mid January the dining room was nice and buzzy and as well as my Mum, another family group was celebrating á birthday. Chef adapted for a special diet being temporarily followed for medical reasons. Portion sizes were perfect for us but would be on the small side for many. DIning room with high ceilings, chandeliers gives a lovely sense of occasion. Definitely recommended

There were another couple finishing dinner when we went into the restaurant. The waiter showed us to a table right next to the other couple when the rest of the restaurant was empty! I asked a couple of questions about the menu. The waiter had to go and ask the chef because it was a new menu. I had Thai fishcake starter which came missing the noodles. I had venison for my main. I asked for no blood which the waiter decided was medium/well. I found it almost as difficult to cut the blackened roasted carrots as the venison! Given the chef only had 2 meals to prepare I honestly don’t know how he got it so wrong. My husband had soup followed by fish and chips. He enjoyed his. Overall I regret wasting my money on food at the hotel restaurant.

Service was good after I asked the waiter to slow down . My wife and I were presented with 2 a La carte menus and a Sunday lunch menu. No explanation other than it was not permitted to mix menus. My wife decided on the same main course but afterwards we were discussing the other options and we discovered that we had been given different a La carte menus; some dishes were on each but others were not. Additionally a lady on the next take placed her order and the dish she chose wasn’t on either of our menus!’ The food, when it came was very good.
