Located in the charming beach town of Gearhart, OR - possibly best known for being the summer home & final resting place of James Beard, the godfather of American fine dining, The Pacific Way is located in a history filled 1929 building. Depending on the coastal weather, you may chose a cozy space indoors, warm by a fire or dine in our covered dog friendly patio. Our menu changes seasonally & the chef offers chalkboard menu items regularly, so for the latest information please see our website: pacificwaycafe.com. You'll find our menu is seafood forward, but it is worth noting our pasta is made in-house and there's always something special on deck for the vegetarian and carnivore in the group.

We recommend making reservations for dinner, but accept walk-ins when we can.

The food was excellent. The king salmon with roasted vegetables was one of the best I’ve had. Appreciate that gluten free items are indicated on the menu. I have celiac and had no problem with selection or tolerability.

One of the best meals in recent history. We both opted for the tasting menu with wine pairings and each course was just amazing. Service was wonderful and we had a great time overall. The most memorable items were the oysters, vegetables and the cheesecake, but everything was so delicious!

They had 3 people out sick, so service was a bit slow. I hope that’s not normal. Food was really really good.

We had a great time dining at this restaurant. We loved how creative and vegetable forward the dishes we ate were, and the server did a great job taking care of us and making recommendations. Everything we ate was DELICIOUS. We would definitely go back.

The food was OK, the appetizers were very good. We enjoyed the peppered carrots and bread very much. The miso king salmon was so/so, not much flavor. The mushroom pasta was tasty but the mushrooms were overcooked and tough. The service, well that was definitely subpar. Our server never checked on us after taking our order. The bus staff were spot on and very attentive. I was very turned off when our waitress processed out tab. I do not like the server bringing a remote card processor to the table and hovering as you process your card payment. Why do restaurants do that? It makes the customer uncomfortable. I tipped 20% for the food portion and 10% for the $75 bottle of wine. That seemed more than fair given the subpar wait staff service. However, I felt the waitress ATTITUDE as she brought my copy of the receipt. Which incidentally, had a note on the bottom with a "suggested additional tip" amount starting at 2% and listed every additional increment up to 7%. This is an example of "tip entitlement" if I ever saw it!! If she had stopped at the table and poured a little more wine ("fine dining establishments do so) or checked to see if we needed anything, then she would have received a bot more. Also, this restaurant touts their tasting menu but had run out of the first course on that menu by 6:30pm. Huh? Another oddity is the lack of a host/ hostess when you enter the restaurant. They have everyone cluster around a prep counter in a tight space with the servers pushing their way through customers waiting for their tables. One more question, When did yoga pants become standard uniforms for servers at sit down restaurants? It is the beach, but if your customers are dropping 2 bills for dinner, maybe a bit of professionalism?

What a fantastic restaurant!! This place takes pride in serving their clients the freshest and tastiest food available. The service, food, and atmosphere were outstanding and I enjoyed every minute of the experience at the restaurant. I highly recommend it.
