We had a reservation at the bar but they did not honor it - Nothing available? Ultimately they found us a table and it took 1 hr to receive our first drink. It wasn’t that busy for a Saturday night, but totally under staffed.

We had made a Valentine’s Day dinner reservation two weeks in advance for 9:30 PM, expecting a special and smooth evening. Instead, it turned into a complete disaster. When we arrived right on time for our 9:30 PM reservation, the girl at the front who seated us casually informed us that the kitchen was closed. Closed? At 9:30 PM? On Valentine’s Day? When our reservation was literally for 9:30 PM? Why the hell was this not mentioned earlier—either when we booked two weeks ago or at any point before we showed up? To make it worse, we could clearly see other tables still being served food. People around us were receiving their meals while we were denied service. How does that make any sense? Why were we singled out and refused food when others were still dining? As if that wasn’t bad enough, our drink order took 30–40 minutes to arrive—and only after we had to remind them. No apology, no urgency, no effort to make up for the situation. The entire experience was unorganized, unprofessional, and honestly embarrassing. Valentine’s Day is supposed to be special, and they completely ruined our night. We planned ahead, made a reservation well in advance, and were treated like an afterthought. A total disaster. Would not recommend.

The pizzas were hard and mid and we found hair. We waited a long time before a waiter came to us. The drinks were horrible. They ended up offering dessert to apologize which was a great gesture and they removed the drinks and the pizzas off the bill but I wouldnt go there again because when we told her about the drinks and pizzas we werent waiting for something we just wanted to pay and leave. But even the dessert took forever to come

FAQs

The ambience is refined yet relaxed, think casual-elegant bistro beneath chandeliers with piano music, plush seating and thoughtful decor. Many guests praise the warm, welcoming vibe, beautiful decor and comfortable chairs. A few guests note hard acoustics can make conversation tricky when busy, and noise levels vary by night. Seasonal décor (Christmas) and a cozy feel make it appealing for special occasions and relaxed cocktails.

Sunday or a weekday evening (Monday–Thursday) is often the best choice for a quieter, more relaxed visit with attentive service. Guests specifically mention Sunday nights as peaceful and Mondays or non-peak weekdays as less crowded. For a livelier experience, choose a Friday or Saturday evening.

Generally yes, families do dine here and guests celebrate birthdays with children and older teens. The menu leans bistro-style (burger, pizzas, platters and pastries) rather than a dedicated children’s menu, so bring flexible expectations. For younger children, consider an early seating, the bar-friendly lounge, or a private table, and call ahead to ask about menu options.

Yes, the Palm Court accepts private parties and can accommodate celebratory or group bookings. For a private dining request, contact the restaurant directly to discuss group size, menu options and any special arrangements; booking ahead is recommended for holidays and large events.

The Palm Court runs afternoon tea and bar hours: Afternoon Tea daily 11:30 am–3:30 pm. The bar is open Mon–Thu and Sun 4:00 pm–11:00 pm, and Fri–Sat 4:00 pm–12:00 am. If you plan a dinner outside these times or during holidays, call ahead to confirm service and any special hours.

For a quieter experience, visit on Sunday evenings or weekday early evenings, guests note Sunday nights can be pleasantly calm and Monday/early week nights are less crowded. Avoid peak holiday nights (Valentine’s, Christmas Eve) and busy Saturday evenings if you want faster service. If you prefer a lively scene, weekend nights and holiday evenings deliver more energy and full bars.

Business casual is the stated dress code. Guests typically dress smartly for the lounge’s elegant setting, think neat, polished attire suitable for a hotel lounge or a relaxed fine-dining atmosphere.

The Palm Court accepts reservations and it’s wise to book, especially for weekends and holidays. Guests report reservation mix-ups and long waits during peak nights (Valentine’s Day, busy Saturdays), so if you’re visiting during a busy period, call ahead to confirm your booking and ask about waitlist options or alternative seating.

Yes, The Palm Court is a classic choice for date night. The lounge mixes casual-elegant French/Canadian bistro fare with chandeliers, piano music, Champagne by the glass or bottle, and a warm, romantic atmosphere. Many guests praise the beautiful decor, attentive staff and cocktails, though service can be slow on very busy nights. For a more seamless evening, consider an earlier seating or the bar area for drinks and small bites.

Portions feel bistro-style and generally moderate, suitable for sharing starters or enjoying a main course. Guests mention items like Ritzy Pizza, charcuterie/cheese platters, salads, burgers and desserts, suggesting a mix of shareable plates and individual mains. If you’re sharing, pizzas and platters are popular; if you’re very hungry, plan for a main or add a starter. When in doubt, ask your server about portion size for specific dishes.

Busiest: holiday evenings (Valentine’s Day, Christmas Eve), weekend nights and busy Saturday evenings. Quietest: Sunday nights and many weekday early evenings, when guests report a calmer atmosphere and quicker service. If you prefer minimal wait time, aim for early weekday dinners or Sunday evenings.

Yes, the staff accommodates special requests when possible. Guests have received celebratory touches like a dessert tower for birthdays, and the pastry chef is mentioned positively. For dietary needs, seating preferences or celebration extras, call ahead so the team can prepare and confirm availability.

Accessible seating: not explicitly stated in the available info, so call ahead to confirm wheelchair access or any special needs. For celebrations, ask about private or quieter seating when you book.

The Palm Court is set up as a lounge and bar within the Ritz-Carlton, with chandelier-lit dining under relaxed, elegant surroundings. The venue offers lounge seating, bar service and accepts private parties, so you can book a table in the lounge or reserve space for celebrations. For specific seating requests (quiet table, corner seating, private party details), contact the restaurant when you reserve.

They do operate during major holiday periods (guests describe dining there on Christmas Eve), but holiday hours and service levels can differ. Because reviews note busy service and occasional issues on holidays, call ahead to confirm opening hours and any special menus or reservations for the specific holiday you plan to visit.
