Our private dining room seats 7 to 12 guests and aims to replicate the experience of our dining room in terms of offer and service albeit in a separate and secluded space.

As in our main dining room, we offer an a la carte menu. It begins with welcome snacks sent from the kitchen while you enjoy a drink or wait for the last few guests to arrive, followed by a choice of first course, main course and dessert from our a la carte menu. The menu is £69 at lunch and £105 at dinner for 3 courses and welcome snacks.

Fantastic set menu and wine pairing. The private room was great for a group of 8 of us, with very good service.

Hosted a dinner using the private dining room and everyone (7 of us) had a fantastic time. Warm welcome and charming staff, just right menu (range, variety) coupled with top notch wine list. Dishes were unanimously lauded and pace of serving ideal. Wines were all excellent and well served: right temperatures, decanted where appropriate, not hurried.

This was a business meeting in a private dining room and service and food were on point and well delivered to cater for the meeting. Many thanks to the professional team for their on point delivery.

This restaurant, along with its’ sister restaurant, ‘ 64 Goodge Street ‘ truly are right up there at the top. The food, presentation and service are amongst the best in London for me so do not hesitate to come here as you will see it for yourself. (Head of Guest Relations) - Racheal Pang does a first class job in representing the ‘ Woodhead Restaurant Group ‘ and is a dream to deal with when you use as many restaurants in my role as I do so thank you Racheal. I intend to use the other 3 establishments in the group soon and will be returning to the Portland Restaurant in a few weeks time!

This is a great value gig. A short walk from Great Portland Street you are very central and you are taken to a chilled, relaxed but excellent bistro. We even got the private room. An excellent experience The tasting menu is excellent value at £125. Very competitive. As a group of 6 we chose our own wines rather than the tasting; an excellent english sparkling to start, a very good pinot noir from Oregon x 2 across fish and meat and a Bordeaux to finish. The menu comprises turbot, duck, mackerel and pork belly with summer vegetables. The mint desert was my dish of the day; brought me back to my childhood; almost like a posh Viennetta - the cheese course was like nothing ive ever had; superb. Check this place out; would come again. Theres loads of restaurants out there, worth a look

This has been our go-to restaurant for special occasions for the past 5 years. The service and vibe are lovely. Unfortunately, the food isn’t quite there anymore. Out of 8 dinners there were no stand outs. Everything was good but nothing shone. The private room was convenient but it’s quite a dark room without a/c on a hot summer day.

I went to dinner with my work team last night to Portland and we weren't disappointed. We were able to have the private room which made it feel very exclusive. The food on the whole was delicious. We had the set menu and the and the welcome snacks stand out - the mushroom macaron was outstanding. I had the rabbit starter which was tasty, followed by the monkfish which was nice but didn't wow, followed by the tarte tatin which I would definitely go back for! All the dishes were presented beautifully as you can see from the photos. The service from Lucy was great. Overall, Google doesn't do half stars as I would give the food and overall score 4.5. The reason is that most of the food was delicious but some was just nice; and 2.5 hours on the leather chairs wasn't totally comfortable (fabric material would be better). Thank you Portland!
