We weren’t real hungry so split the crab dip, Fall salad, and fries. Cheryl was great, understood exactly and advised we be served all dishes at once. The portion sizes were perfect for splitting! Plus, the food was served quickly, fresh.
Service was very slow and non attentive.
after having had good experiences here, this time was nearly a disaster. What looked like a good location for a booth, turned into a terrible location. Was by a service station, near the bar so people were hanging around the area all the time. Then we were located next to a party room and once the party ended, the staff paraded past us multiple times with chairs to reset the room. Our server, who had a nice personality seemed too busy to really be attentive to us. The $30 lobster roll was good, which 2 of us had. We ordered salads with it and they came with french fries. My brother ordered what he thought was a duck potato appetizer but got regular french fries. They did bring him the right dish and we did get our salads. The manager talked to us a couple of times after complaining and did offer to move us. We finally chose to stay were we were. We were comped 2 dessert drinks and one app. But the place looks run down now and the good dining experience has been overshadowed by neglect or whatever ambience these 2 years of Covid has imparted on the place. I won't be returning. I'm being generous by not commenting on the service which has clearly been affected by the staffing shortage most places are now experiencing and I know it can't be helped.
The food was absolutely delicious - the octopus and kampachi crudos were a fan favorite! The service was excellent and very attentive, and the booth was comfortable and cozy.
Great food, very good service. Always an excellent dining experience.
The patio was super cozy with heaters and nice spacing between tables, and the food is always delicious. Definitely a great spot!
We were with friends for dinner before a performance at the Arena stage.
The food is fresh and it is a smaller menu selection but that may explain why each dish is great.
The appetizers were great. We ordered stuffed oysters and the dip. They brought extra chips without having to ask when they initially brought the appetizer. DELICIOUS!
I had the crispy rockfish. Two in my party had the Portuguese Stew, another the Seafood Ragú and 4 had the lobster roll.
Everyone lived their dish and eyed others’ dishes wishing they could taste each other’s dishes.
The only complaint from a friend was that they thought $30 is a lot for a lobster roll.
The noise level was fine when we got there at 5pm but was really loud by the time we left.
My crispy Sea Bass entre looked liked an appetizer I thought I made but forgot I had ordered-because it was so tiny. It was no bigger than my fore finger and the great sounding garnishment was miniscule - most a few droplets in size. zi will order the eafood stew on my next visit.
Had a wonderful brunch. Food was delicious and thoughtfully presented. The wait staff was attentive and friendly (shout out to Eunice). Had a table right by the river, very scenic. I would highly recommend, especially the clam bellies, octopus carpaccio, and apple pear pie they bake to order... and of course the excellent cocktails.
Kevin’s serving was fantastic!
Great meal! Food was fast & anazing! Server Chris was awesome! Heat lamps were present and putting out heat just not great placement.
I've frequented this place a few times, and for the price that I'm paying to eat here, the service is subpar. The hostess is not welcoming or friendly, the booths aren't spacious enough, the waiters going missing for periods of a time... I absolutely love the lobster roll, but I'm just going to order pickup from now on. I don't want to waste time here.
The Salt Line is one of our favorite restaurants in DC. Whenever, we have out of town guests, we always take them their. The oysters, fish and lobster rolls are always outstanding. My in-laws enjoyed their burgers as well. Great selection of local craft beers as well.
Very nice. Could have used actual crab in the king crab breakfast, but it was still delicious!
Just stopping by
One of the guests got severe food poisioning from an undercooked burger
We had a reservation and still waited 20 minutes upon arrival. We also seemed to be sassed by the staff after we were understandably frustrated with the wait. Then eventually put in a corner table inside after there appeared to be several tables around us that were open the entire time.
The oyster selection is great! And they have nice fire pits outside.
We were celebrating a birthday - great table with view of water. Wait staff attentive, friendly and masked. Tables well spaced. Oysters were amazing; entrees very good. Wine by the glass surprisingly good. Parking a bit of a challenge - either $50.00 close to on site or a bit of a walk. Will go again.
The food was not very good, though service was. I would probably not come again. I ordered the steak tips for brunch. There was about 2oz of overly cooked, hard to chew and unflavored meat, two slices of zucchini, two eggs, and four thin, charred Sears of asparagus. Nothing was seasoned well.
Great views! The crab dip appetizer is a solid pick!
Great night out with my wife. The food and drinks were outstanding.
Everything was delicious. We got there earlier than our reservation
They were very kind and managed to seat us earlier. The only hiccup was the clam chowder was more of a soup. Still delicious just not what I usually expect as a chowder. I will go back in a heartbeat!
The device was good, but the food was less than it had been in the past. Probably will not return.
Nice twist on some great seafood. Small portions and a little pricy.
It was right by the water in Navy Yard, but they have great heaters outside! The food was wonderful and the service was great!
it was our first time trying salt line and I’m glad we did! their oysters were so fresh and great quality. our server Ben was really great as well. we’ll definitely be back
Our guest loved it. She was visiting from Atlanta and was blown away by the Navy Yard area.
Great experience, the food was awesome.
Visiting nephew in college
Great view out to the river. We sat outdoor and they had heaters and a covered area which was great. Food, service, and drinks were all awesome. We would definitely go again. Also, great allergin menu (I'm gluten-free) just ask and they'll bring it out.
The oysters were excellent, but the food went seriously south after that. The Lobster roll was poor and the swordfish was also poor. The person at the next table said their hamburger was the "best in DC". Maybe that's what I should have ordered.
A very nice ambiance, with great views of the Anacostia river. Our party dined outdoors, and the restaurant did a great job of making the seating comfortable, considering the late October weather.
We were not received well at the hostess stand.
Told them we had a reservation through Open Table and were promptly shown to a table next to the waitress station. All tables were vacant.
After an objection,we were seated next to the front door. No one else around.
Service was attentive, yet mediocre.
Food was ok- won’t rush back.
Beautiful river front dining and the food is great.
Lovely day with a water view. Plentiful outdoor seating. The heaters were great for the little chill in the aIr. The menu had creative options, and everything was delicious!
One of our favorite places. Food, atmosphere, and service are always top notch. We especially love that the restaurant is on the river, is next to the ballpark, and is owned (in part) by Zim.
No waiting, server was pleasant and had great recommendations.
I’ve been here a few times and after our experience last night I likely won’t be returning. The food was…fine. Our server, however, was extremely rude to us for no reason and almost ruined our entire meal.
Overpriced, average food. Service and ambiance was top-notch. Probably won’t return based on the price.
