We're always a little wary of Greek restaurants in the UK as they tend to be 'wrapped vine leaves and plate smashing' and nothing like the experience we have every year when we go to Crete, so have avoided them. However, after seeing a review of Theion we decided to take the plunge and try it out - so glad we did, the food, ambience and service were all outstanding, as good as the very best we've had in Crete. Of particular note was our waitress Constantina who really looked after us and even gave us a bag of wine corks as we collect them. This is a very special restaurant.

The food was brilliant. Particularly the Meatballs (starter) & Seabass (Main) - great if you don’t like pasta or would prefer a lighter meal. Staff - very friendly and welcoming, knowledgable about the menu and happy to offer recommendations. Drinks - good selection including classic cocktails. Atmosphere - set in the beautiful Centenary Hall, exposed brick, wood and well placed lighting gave a lovely ambience. Covid - hand sanitise at entrance, waiters/waitresses wearing masks.

Overall a very nice experience. Had family lunch on a Sunday. Food was authentic, innovative and delicious. Good wine list with reasonable prices. Also the staff were careful die to Covid19 situation. Will definitely go again.
