Yes, this was the best brunch I have had in a long time. Marie
Consistently great dining with generous and creative menus. I love the setting in an old Seattle Craftsman home. It is quite popular and often quite crowded. For me the two primary negatives are the tables are too close together almost elbow to elbow and the noise level. One other thing: the print on the menu is really tiny and the lighting is low. I'd recommend more contrast on the menu and larger font!!
So, I try to select a day where there is likely to be more room. Love the place!!
Fantastic food in a quaint atmosphere with great service. Joel Panlilio is a master at culinary creations and blending various flavors into fantastic new experiences. Can't wait to go back.
Wonderful!! We love Maria Hines!!
The foraged mushroom omelette is what made us return. It is cooked perfectly and the mushrooms are the best we have ever had. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious! My son insists that the peanut butter waffle with pomegranate and maple ricotta can't be beat! The service is also great and atmosphere very comfortable. It's our favorite Seattle brunch!!
The cutest ambiance!! Settled in an old home. It’s quite cozy and the food is INSANELY good. The flavors burst in your mouth. I could eat that duck gnocchi every day!
Service was wonderful - we had a great waitress who was super friendly, helpful and made our experience a great one. The food was excellent. Our waitress made great recommendations and helped us pick out the right amount of food for two people to share.
Everything about our dining experience at Tilth--the food, the service, and the ambience--was first-rate. It made for a perfect evening. My only question is: why isn't this restaurant full every night?
staff were so rude and unable to interact with people it kind of ruined our evening. very strange place - nice food though - would not recommend.
Food was excellent, but not really worth the experience. Notwithstanding a reservation, we were asked to wait on an unheated porch with minimal information as to when our table would be available. After getting quite chilled and complaining that their "sun" porch is cold, we were moved into the bar to wait until our table was ready - 25 minutes after our reservation. Eventual table was so cold my wife needed to wear her coat indoors. Waiter explained that we were near an air return and it would be cold - and they would not be doing anything to improve our dining experience. (Many empty tables by the time we left but they never offered to relocate us...)
When the final bill eventually arrived, $10 was taken off with no explanation. So, I guess they understood that it was not an ideal dining experience. Nonetheless, from the host, to the manager to our eventual waiter, we encountered an attitude of indifference that bordered on callousness. Food was good, attitude from the the personnel we encountered was unpalatable.
Food was excellent but the area where we were sitting was drafty and some of the food was on the cool side once it was served.
The food was creative, beautiful and delicious. I loved hearing about where the ingredients were sourced from. Their constantly changing menu will keep me coming back again and again.
We were celebrating our son’s birthday. We have always enjoyed the food at Tilth. They were at the forefront of the farm to table trend. My husband and I started with a delicious cocktail. The 4 of us shared several appetizers. The beet tartare was outstanding , on a cauliflower horseradish purée. Excellent burrata as well. Our least favorite were the hush puppies. There was an excellent coconut squash soup. The main courses were excellent as well. Our son had scallops, his girlfriend seared tuna, my husband the gnocchi with braised duck, and I had the pork cheek which was served with wonderful baby carrots and turnips. We shared the best tapioca pudding ever, as we were all full at that point. A good, reasonably priced wine list as well.
We always enjoy going to Tilth for special occasions. We have two vegetarians and having a tasting menu for them as well makes life good. Food and service was excellent as usual. We'll return.
Really good food for the most part (the burrata & prosciutto in particular was a stand-out), but of the 6 dishes our table sampled, I was a bit underwhelmed by a few of them. I still love Tilth and plan to return, but this particular visit was less fulfilling than previous visits.
Suffered discrimination from the host at the Sunday brunch. We were told we needed a reservation even though there were several empty tables. I made a reservation online right there, but they told us the reservation was not valid as they had been admitting walk-ins (does not make sense as we were walk-ins). We asked to be seated at the bar as they were two empty seats, but the host told us he didn't expect the people at the make to make space for us. After some time, we were able to make the bar which served as our place us for all the brunch. We thanked the other two people at the bar for making room for us, who worked at the place and hence were happy to make space for us. Shame on the host that made everything so difficult. During all the time we stayed, there were several empty tables which apparently were not reserved.
Michael, our server was fantastic and so sweet to give us small plates to try. The scallops were great, husband enjoyed his gnocci and the tuna was amazing!
Food can be really good but realize it is VERY EXPENSIVE for what you get. The menu is also very deceiving in that some entrees are micro small while appetizers can be massive. Best to ask.
Tilth remains my favorite restaurant. I went again for my birthday. The food was incredible as always.
Delicious food with unique blends of flavors. We got the duck meat gnocchi and hazelnut scallops, but our favorite was actually the mushroom caramel dessert. The mushroom aroma could be made subtle with the ginger and chocolate or very pronounced with just the tapioca.
I love coming here because of the seasonality and variety of the menu from season to season.
Great tasting menu for Valentine’s Day.
As always, great food and great service. Sadly, we were surrounded and in close quarters with people who apparently don’t get out much and don’t have restaurant manners...very loud conversations and disrupting and interacting with others at tables next to them. From under which rock do these people come? I encourage the restaurant to double its prices on holidays like Valentine’s Day in hopes that the crowd can better sort itself. I am quite sure that Tilth would still be booked solid.
Tilth is ordinarily one of the most civil dining experiences in the city. That would seem to be the third leg of its brand stool after quality of food and quality of service. Ambience is perhaps more difficult to control and yet so valuable when found. I hope Tilth can find ways to set expectations in the future. Canlis has done it.
I've never had a meal short of excellent at Tilth, I only ever get the vegan tasting menu and it never fails to satisfy. The cuisine is never particularly adventurous but the execution is pitch perfect every time. Plus, it's pretty much the only restaurant where I can get a truly fine dining experience and eat vegan without having to call ahead and pray the kitchen doesn't just phone it in.
Took my boyfriend here a couple days ago to celebrate his 28th birthday. I was nervous because Seattle was in the middle of a extreme blizzard; Washington had declared a state of emergency and almost all stores and restaurants closed all weekend. Most roads, highways were closed off from the snow and cars were scattered on every street abandoned, unable to drive through the ice. Luckily, we made it to Tilth and were greeted by the most friendly server who was ready for us and took our jackets and settled us in. We had the grand tasting menu and were STUFFED before the end of the meal. I had requested on OpenTable through the comment section that the staff acknowledge my boyfriend's birthday by writing "Happy birthday!" on a plate or light a candle during dessert. They held true to their word and we had a wonderful night. Thank you!
I really wanted to love Tilth for brunch and while the food was tasty, it wasn't exceptional. I also feel like there are other brunch options nearby in Wallingford that served better food at lower prices (Julia's for example). We did go during the big snow though so I feel like maybe they were a little short staffed and the experience and food might have been better if that hadn't been a factor.
We had an absolutely fantastic dinner for my birthday. We had the large chefs menu and we could have been fine getting the regular chefs menu. And we are not small eaters. We also got the wine pairings which were fabulous. We did not leave hungry or thirsty. The tuna course was stupendous. For a special event we would definitely go back. Loved it!!!!!
Always lovely and delicious for breakfast. You feel like you're in your best friend's house, servers are always nice.
Yum! Atmosphere was comfortable and the food was great too. Staff was patient and kind as well! Would recommend!
Top notch food, drinks, and service.
Tilth is always lovely - the food is excellent, seasonal, & tasty and the service is always helpful, without being overbearing. We sat at the bar this time which meant it was a little louder than it is elsewhere in the restaurant, BUT it's a really fun spot because you can see into the kitchen and experience all the goings-on back there.
Tilth is always exceptional, friendly, accommodating and innovative.
Great dining experience at Tilth. The service was excellent and the food really interesting and tasty. I would recommend this for a special occasion as the prices are a little high but worth the experience.
Tilth is one of our favorite restaurants. We like the tasting menus and think they're a great value!
This is a place that strives to make magic in everything you eat. Most times they achieve this goal. Every morsel is amazing. The combinations are typically an epiphany. This night (my birthday, which they totally did not acknowledge even though it was listed on Open Table; maybe an Open table faux pas?) everything was as always; amazing except for my wife's entree. A very badly conceived gnocchi with braised duck (almost ZERO duck could be found) in an asian fusion pomegranate seed wild honey mess that was totally inedible. This restaurant prides itself on hand making things so why were all the "home-made" gnocchi all the same size, same shape and all stodgy. My wife ordered a small portion and was billed a large.
Other than this, Tilth is still a place to try.
Very friendly service but never intrusive. Fantastic coffee and very good food. I will be back and I strongly recommend.
Got the Tilth tasting menu and everything was very good. Their soups have been incredible each time I've eaten here.
We had a fabulous time for our 5th wedding anniversary.
We enjoyed the cozy ambiance. Service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. And the food was delicious--from the creamy coconut squash soup to the rich, earthy mushroom risotto and seared scallops! We arrived early, and the room got a bit noisy as it filled up. But we thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. We'll be back--soon!!!
We had the brunch prifix menu—delicious! A great way to sample the menu and plenty of food for the price. Enjoyed everything! Would recommend the baked egg, the quinoa salad, and the French toast.
