First of all they were out of 3 of the 5 appetizer options, they served frozen ahi tuna, cold hamburger buns, a chipped old fashioned glass, store bought potato chips and $24 old fashioned. Probably the worse meal I have ever paid for

Twisted Liquid is a fun addition to Blacksburg! The cocktails are definitely the star of the show...excellent, creative, beautifully balanced, and clearly crafted with a lot of thought. The ambiance matches them perfectly: super modern and chic, colorful, funky in all the right ways, and just a really fun place to spend an evening. We happened to be there on a busy night when it felt like everyone arrived at once, and the staff handled it incredibly well. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and while the food took a little longer than usual, it was completely understandable given the crowd and the fact that it’s a smaller restaurant. The food was good and certainly a step above typical bar food, but for me, it didn’t quite reach the same level as the cocktails and overall experience. Everything we had was enjoyable, but nothing from the kitchen really left a lasting impression. I’d love to see the food elevated just a bit to match the creativity and quality happening behind the bar. Overall: A+ for cocktails, atmosphere, and friendly service. Twisted Liquid has a really cool vibe and a ton of personality. If the food kicked up a notch, the entire experience could be a standout.

Party of two. We enjoyed our drinks and appetizer. My entree was really good (my companion wished they'd gotten the same thing). The dessert was good too. My biggest issue/disappointment was actually the menu. I was expecting the menu on their website online to be what they were currently serving. It was not.

Twisted Liquid remains welcoming, with an appealing atmosphere and attentive service. In the past, we enjoyed their creative, upscale appetizers as well as distinctive, elegant mains - making it a fine choice for milestone celebrations… different and more sophisticated than most anywhere else in Blacksburg. Unfortunately our recent (June 16, 2026) visit revealed some changes. Appetizer choices were more pedestrian and a fillet (all diners agreed) was brown & overcooked rather than medium rare. However, the lobster sandwiches & chips were nicely presented and delicious. Twisted Liquid seems to have become a great place for casual after-work apps & drinks rather than a distinctive restaurant for a truly special, expensive dinner. At least based on our recent visit/menu. Of course we wish this attractive restaurant well in what appears to be its new approach.

I felt disappointed this time as they ran out of ingredients. I ordered Korean ribs, said they ran out. Then I ordered falafel, but they ran out of tzatziki sauce, and they asked me what I wanted to substitute with instead of offering me choices. Ended up with hummus with basil oil as substitute. Cocktails were on the sweeter side. Overall food quality was good, but the whole experience was not great

I wanted to share feedback regarding our recent dining experience to celebrate my son’s graduation with family and friends as it was unfortunately very disappointing — especially considering the price point and expectations presented for your restaurant and event reservations. First, the menu was extremely limited for both food and drinks. While the cocktails were enjoyable, the food quality and portions did not come close to justifying the $300+ we spent. We ordered the shrimp and wagyu skewers expecting thoughtfully prepared dishes. Instead, the shrimp appeared comparable to pre-made shrimp cocktail shrimp placed on a stick rather than freshly grilled seafood. The wagyu skewer lacked the quality and presentation expected from a fine dining establishment and honestly tasted more like beef stroganoff without noodles. I also ordered the lobster bisque, which was served lukewarm and tasted as though it came from a can. The Caesar salad with smoked trout was acceptable, but the trout resembled salmon more than smoked trout, and the dressing tasted bottled rather than house-made. What made the experience more frustrating was the lack of transparency regarding the menu prior to the event reservation. For a restaurant that strictly enforces reservations and cancellation fees, customers reasonably expect a much higher level of quality, preparation, and overall dining experience. Our server was kind, attentive, and did their best throughout the evening, so I truly appreciate their effort. However, much of the remaining staff appeared stressed, overwhelmed, and unwelcoming, which added to the uncomfortable atmosphere. Overall, the experience felt far from the fine dining experience being advertised. The drinks were honestly the only standout part of the evening.

Unfortunately disappointing - limited graduation menu served pre-cooked food that was just heated up, confirmed by the fact that it came out within 4 minutes of order. $32 for a 4oz burger and tortilla chips; interesting… Frienfly, nice staff; small intimate interior.

The food we got was not good. About half of the mussels I ordered didn’t open (were dead) and the two I felt brave enough to try mealy. The potato skins reminded me of Applebees. The steak and shrimp skewers had three small chunks of beef and three small shrimp, for $28 dollars. The cocktails were fine but overpriced. Look elsewhere.
