Willie G’s Seafood & Steakhouse - Galveston

My wife and I went there for dinner. The drink order was not correct and had to be sent back.the food order was wrong even though I went to extra lengths to tell the waitress what we ordered. We never got the salads. I wound up eating by myself. When we finally got my wife’s meal , all the waitress could say was that it was not her fault(whose was it?). The food has always been good, but the wait staff are severely lacking even taking COVID-19 into account. i’m writing this because this is becoming a trend which I decides to let slide in the past. I plan to avoid this place. Sad.

Unfortunately the entree was served cold. Great appetizers.

Great food and service!

The food was the best we had in Galveston during our stay. The wait staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The quality and portions of food were outstanding. Would highly recommend dining here.

Food and prices were really good. Service was not impressive. Could have definitely been better. We will go back.

We visited Willie G's for New Year's Eve dinner with friends. It was OK but could have been better.

I made a reservation several weeks in advance and ended up getting stuck at a table that was by the door and main thoroughfare. We felt like we were eating at highway diner! There was a constant flow of people and waitstaff and commotion around our table.

Maybe I'm expecting too much but I'm a local and eat at Willie G's a lot and would like to get a better table than someone who walks in or makes a reservation just a day or two in advance.

COVID-19 Comment
Willie G's was clearly at 100% occupancy the whole time we were there. It's hard to keep up with the latest regulations and related lawsuits and refusals to comply. In general, if you're at all concerned about COVID quarantine this is probably not a place for you.

Such a nice place to eat on Christmas Eve. Service was phenomenal and socially distanced. Thumbs up all around

We enjoyed our dinners, my snapper was slightly over cooked, but still very good, and the Parmesan risotto really made the meal.

A little underwhelmed if I'm being honest. Service was slow, seemed understaffed. Long wait (nearly 30 minutes) b/w salad and dinner. Never offered any bread even though others had it. Our food came out and seemed a bit cool (sat out a bit maybe?) and needed salt. Waiter never came back by in a timely manner to get salt/pepper. In fact, I saw a diner go up and ask for some at the bar.
I expect more from a higher-end restaurant (or at least as they bill themselves). Thought about joining the Landry's Select club but passed after this experience.

The food was great and service was wondrful

After being seated we were ignored by all the wait staff that were walking by us, they wouldn’t even look at us, after 15 minutes we stopped a waitress and she actually looked upset she said she would find us a server. Not what you would expect from this restaurant.

Had a most enjoyable dinner out with friends on the outside patio area. The waiter was super fun and made our experience very enjoyable. The food was exceptional and made to perfection. I would highly recommend Willie G's to anyone wanting to have an enjoyable evening out with friends.

Had dinner at Willie G's in Galveston on Sunday evening, Dec 6th.

Ezra was our waiter and he did a splendid job of making sure our meal, and table service, was first class.

The oyster brochettes were excellent, the cobb salad was above board, and my wife and I shared an 8oz filet that would give Joe Allen's in Abilene a run for his money.

Thank you again for a great evening, and thank you Ezra for your smile and energy.

Food was average but the service was very slow, it was the off season so maybe that had something to do with it but I won’t be coming back.

Birthday Celebration and experience was nothing special. Cocktails were diluted from sitting at the bar after being made, food was cold when it should have been hot. Server had no assistant... and the service was subpar. No happy birthday anything.

Visiting Galveston on a beautiful night on the harbor side. Decided to eat at Willie G's. The food and service was great. I will be returning to this place the next time we come bac.

Katie our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. She was the best thing about our trip to Willie G’s in Galveston tonight.

Once again, Willie G's was excellent food, service, beverage and ambience. Accommodating when we had extra friends drop by, busy tho they were! One can count on the level of excellence here. The service is always top notch. The friendliness of the entire staff is most welcoming. The view is relaxing and interesting, with the ships, dolphin and people going by at the Harbor. I highly recommend Willie G's, and their Happy Hour is one of the best on the Island!

Food was good 4 out of 5. Service was sloppy and rushed. Server kept showing up and pushing us to order.

The biggest foul was they were not enforcing mask wearing. Allowing customers to roam around the restaurant without masks. Our server pulled hers down halfway through service. We asked her to wear it which she did.

When we first arrived the host suggested we wait in the bar but we declined because one of the bartenders was not wearing a mask.

It’s not enough to have a policy, it needs to be enforced. We did speak to the manager about it and he was nice about it but based on his response I don’t think anything will change. We won’t go back.

Other than one of the dishes that we received was not one that was ordered, it was very wonderful experience. I would recommend the the waitresses use a notepad to verify ordered food.

Busy Saturday night, not as stellar as prior experiences because of the crowds, but still felt safe with Covid precautions.

Our service was wonderful. The food was delicious and the servings were huge.
