We greatly look forward to serving you and welcoming you to our Home-Style Neapolitan restaurant.
Once again we had a 5 star stellar experience both in food quality and service.
While the menu is fun consisting almost entirely of true and tested favorites, what makes the place special is the ambiance. Every hostess, waiter, busboy and the 2 gregarious hosts, are warm and welcoming. It is impossible to not enjoy oneself at Rao's.
probably the best Italian food in the entire city. A rollicking, great time.
Great meal as always. Dine LA special good deal.
Amazing! Can’t wait to go again! Try the meatballs for sure.
Great friendly & attentive service.
Food was excellent as was the service, will definitely go back
New Years Eve was the bomb at Rao’s! A ew tradition.
Great food and service. Highly recommend
If you blink you would pass it, but that would be a tragedy
As you walk into the quaint front door you are
Greeted by Johnnie Roast Beef, the mIater D whom is a real
Life movie star from 100’s of gangster
Movies. Then the real show begins with some amazing ambiance, spectacular service and Fantastic Food.
The portions are envious of John Pinette, Jackie Gleason and any other food lover. My favorites are the meatballs ravioli and veal
I will be living (dining) here for
Many years to come
Rao’s has the most delicious food. The seafood salad is something you will never find anywhere else and we order it every time. The carbonara is creamy and delicious. We tried the cioppino and it was out of this world. The servers and staff are friendly and attentive. The mood is perfect for date night or celebration. It’s our favorite Italian restaurant in LA!
We have never had a bad meal here. We love Raos!
The nicest staff in world, plus absolutely wonderful food.
Holiday dinner out with the family.
Louis is a master and Rao’s is a fabulous place to celebrate a birthday or just have a great meal
This is the real Mc Coy. Maybe the best authentic Italian in the city. If you like this type of food and your digestive system can handle it, this is for you. Lots of energy in the main restaurant. If you want quiet, do the patio. We will be sure to go back.
Birthday dinner for my fiancé. We were sat by the kitchen even though there were nice tables in another room by the fire. Staff was very attentive at first but no where to be find when food was delivered. Meatballs, which we were told were a definite must we’re extremely salty. The salad was ok.. not worth $17 for iceberg lettuce. I had a seafood pasta which the spinach in it was awesome and the scallops were nice and large but the sauce was overly buttery. My fiancé had the veal chop which overwhelmingly tasted like peppers and it much veal. It was an overpriced meal with less then stellar service. Won’t be back
I expected more and was very disappointed. Box pasta and generic tasting sauce along with a really poor server let me down. The eggplant Parmesan was good and that was about all I enjoyed during my visit. My server was inattentive and rushed which just made my dinning experience that much worse. I won’t be returning.
Very enjoyable dinner at this “old school “ Italian restaurant. Just a classic.
Nothing fancy. Just good food. The maitre’d and his staff are all non pretentious, efficient and fun.
I great place for an enjoyable evening- and the world’s best cheesecake.
Everything is delicious on the menu. But you must try the meatball
All it is cracked up to be.
Meatballs a must have. Pork Chop was one of the best I've ever had.
Food and service were above average. The linguini and clams were very good. The Rigitoni Bolognese was a little chewy - would probably order a thinner pasta next time. Overall very enjoyable.
We had a great time everyone was friendly and helpful . Made you feel at home.
Had an amazing dinner at Rao’s. Big thanks to our waiter ‘Chicago’.
Great as always.
A truly great dining experience, celebrated our friends wedding anniversary and was their first time there,
we shared entrees, appetizers and the delectable seafood salad!! They absolutely loved it and want to plan
our next trip to Rao's very soon. Friendly staff as well, enjoyed them visiting our table
The wait staff had exquisite recommendations and we trusted their selections for all four courses. Every item on the menu is tantalizing and remarkable. We’re so lucky to have Rao’s in L.A.!
Amazing food and service! Will definitely be back.
This is my home away from home. They always take great care of us and our guests.
We can never get in to the original but this is one fabulous alternative. The food was every bit as good as we anticipated. The service was top notch. Will be back often! Just please some day get me in to original location
Knowing the reputation of the original Rao's in Harlem, my exceptions for this branch were quite high. Amazingly, they exceeded my expectations!! The atmosphere was classic upscale Italian (including the man who played Johnny Roasbeef in Goodfellas visiting all of the tables!!). The service was impeccable, very much up to NYC top end standards. The biggest surprise was the absolutely best veal marsala I've ever had!! The veal was tender and very tasty, and the sauce had a wonderful complex of flavors. Then came the classic New York cheesecake, which was creamy and exploding with flavor, accompanied by fresh fruit which definitely complemented the cheesecake. It will be very difficult for me to order any other entree or dessert the next time in LA. A full blown top place which hits all the right notes -- atmosphere, service, and food all top of the line.
I've been to Rao's over five times now and the food and service are always excellent. Classic Italian dishes cooked superbly. Waiters and staff are friendly and helpful but never obtrusive.
I love this place, best in LA
Good wasn’t good at all, wished it had more flavor. “Special sauce” tasted like chunky watered down tomatoes. Ambiance is fun. Wine was great, service was good.
Very disappointed with the food thou.
The rigatoni was dry. Not enough sauce. Otherwise the food was so delicious. A bit to expensive.
Meatballs are best I've ever had . Service was great!
