The music was way too loud. Even people with good hearing struggled to catch the conversation.

We loved this restaurant. We went to try the Sunday Gravy dinner and Jonathon, our great waiter, suggested since this was our first time we try a variety of dishes. He was right. We had a meatball, yum, seafood salad, to die for, bone in veal parm and pasta carbonarra. All were amazing and we had leftovers. This restaurant is on a side street off of SM Blvd in Hollywood and does no advertising. I would give it 11 or 12 out of 10. It is real old school Italian and just wonderful.

Best Italian food I’ve had in LA. Waitress was excellent and knew about every dish, how it’s made, and was very helpful and attentive.
This is the place for a legit Italian food experience.

Old style Italian American where one can imagine that the food was once as good as the atmosphere still is. Sometimes that helpls the food taste a little better, especially the signature meatballs.

Amazing- every aspect was incredible...lots of easy charm here, from the owner, server & busser to the food and ambiance, and I must give special mention to the cheesecake, wow. Most of all, it’s not trying to be anything it’s not, while being everything you’d ever want.

Just not impressed with the food or the service. The one in New York is still great, the one in LA well sequels aren’t always as good as the original.

Rao’s lived up to all the hype. Close your eyes and you’re in Manhattan.

The Porterhouse and Fritto Misto are hard to beat.

The food, service, and ambience were equally fantastic. The manager and two additional gentlemen support the server and the friendly conversation make you feel like you’re at a house party. The food came quick, hot and delicious. We started with the outstanding meatballs followed with a seafood dish, two pastas and finished with the cheesecake, it’s a must. We plan to return on the the second Saturday of every month for table 13 until we have tasted everything on the menu. Thank you for the fabulous experience.

We went to Rao's for Sunday dinner and, like always, everything was perfect. Johnathan was out waiter, and he is the absolute best. He is attentive, thorough, and very personable. And of course, the martinis made by Gabriel were spot on! It is always a pleasure dining at Rao's.

The place had a nice setting and the food was delicious. Can be pricey depending on your budget but I thought it was fair pricing for the quality of the food/service. They also have some cheaper menu items. Overall, am going back for date night and would recommend to others.

Service could have been more consistent. Food was very good and timely. We came early evening and the sound level was good, when we left it was getting objectionable. Biggest drawback - valet at $13!

Brought friends visiting from Reno. Everything was even better than we expected from the moment Johnny Roast Beef warmly greeted us to saying goodnight. Our server was attentive but not pushy and gave great suggestions like the fantastic meat balls to start. The four of us each had a different dish and all of them were fantastic especially the shrimp scampi. Great wine suggestion from the sommelier. Look forward to our next dining experience at Rao’s Hollywood.
