Redbird - Los Angeles
Great food. Lots of it. Large portions.
We always have great food and service at Redbird. It is one of our go to spots when friends and family are in town.
Exceptional in every respect. Go to this restaurant ASAP!
Our $100 steak was raw, and the manager did not even try to compensate in any form for it. The overall food is not great and Definitely not worth the price. The sommelier made us feel uncomfortable to ask for wine suggestions. Overall a bad experience. Unfortunate as we were really looking forward to try this restaurant based on the great reviews. Will not come again!
Great food, service and ambiance. Very innovative food and drinks.
It was great. Good service, great ribeye steak and potatoes. It was our first time there and we enjoyed it very much.
Delicious food in a beautiful setting. The staff was very helpful and attentive.
Choice this restaurant based on the reviews and boy am I glad we did. Took my wife, son who now lives here and his girlfriend. Amazing atmosphere. Food was amazing from the appetizers to the entree’s and finished with a crazy dessert! The Axis venison was wonderful, tender and full of flavor! My wife and some girlfriend split the ribeye for two and allowed my son and I a small bite, LOL. Literally the beat steak I’ve ever tasted and I’m a steak lover! Try this place and you won’t be disappointed!
The combination of a broad selection of well prepared and artfully presented dishes served by a friendly and attentive staff set within the rectory of the historic St. Vibiana Cathedral makes Redbird a restaurant worth visiting at least once and more than once if quiet conversation isn't an important part of your dining experience. The lack of any sound absorbing material on the ceiling, walls and floor elevates the noise level to a roar making it difficult to conduct a conversation with anyone across the table without raising the voice to a near shout. We visited the restaurant on a Friday evening when people were celebrating the end of the work-week, so it may be better to choose a mid-week evening if conversation is an important part of your dining experience.
Food was great! Service even bettah. A little loud but whatareyougonnado.
I was in LA on business from Ohio and liked what I saw on-line about Redbird. This was the perfect restaurant for a business dinner, but would also be great for a nice dinner for a couple or just a group of friends. Food was amazing and the service was spot on. I like how they organize the food order so everything comes out at the perfect moment. Our food was unique and excellent. Recommend the Wild Boar and Scallops along with the Risotto.
The ambiance was lovely, menu fresh with items from many cultures and regions, food delicious, service excellent!
We had such an amazing dining experience at Redbird for dinner on our last night in LA. Our server Matthew was excellent. Food was impeccable. Atmosphere was engaging and beautiful yet comfortable, lending itself to good conversation and an all around excellent dining experience. Would recommend to anyone living in or visiting the LA area.
For a party of six, there is a corner table away from the most noise. It is square and makes conversation easy. Our group gave the scallops and rib eye high marks. And the olive oil cake is a rich delight for dessert. We were a somewhat quirky group, and our server was highly professional. Would choose this place again for a special occasion.
I love the building and the food is consistent and excellent. I really have enjoyed going there. Everything about is terrific!
This place never disappointing. The food, drinks and ambiance is always amazing.
We’ve been here before, one of our sisters favorite places to eat, she passed 14mos ago, so it was nice to be there reminiscing her love of food.
Overall great experience, originally, we were to have 11, but last minute, a few dropped out, and you were able to accommodate/ reset the table. Staff was kind and helpful.
Food was spectacular, as always. And of course the drinks too.
Thank you for everything.
Great food , awesome cocktails - a good time !
Amazing experience with a very kind and knowledgeable staff. Delicious!
I went with a group of six of us and we ordered many of the dishes on the menu. The Brussel sprouts are a little spicy and nicely charred. The geminelli (goat) is also a little spicy. The rest of the dishes we tried were not. We had the chicken pot pie, based on Jonathan Gold's recommendation. It is a little small to share, but we managed. We also tried the scallops, sea bass, duck, avocado salad, barbeque tofu, all of which were yummy. Not one dish was a miss.
Great service, amazing cocktails and delicious food!
A lovely location, with attentive service. First courses were OK, but both our main courses were so heavily over-salted, and so poorly cooked as to be the opposite of enjoyable
The food is absolutely impeccable! Surprising, complex flavors and thoughtful presentation. First class service too. Am lucky to live within walking distance, this remains one of the best restaurants in LA!
Redbird is just as good as it gets when it comes to great food and location in LA. Service including host was impeccable. Wine recommendation was fantastic and the food (venison & wild boar) simply perfect.
Redbird is the word for fine fining. No peckin’ and
scratchin’ here as it’s all good.
For the first time we sat in the bar area for dinner. It was quite lovely, much better than I imagined it would be. The food is always delicious and staff provides stellar service. A real treat!
The food must not be the reason Redbird has managed to stay in business. It is not good even if it cost one third as much. We sent back mushy risotto, a tasteless sample plate of pork and grossly rare venison. The only good dish was the scallops.
HOWEVER, the service was beyond excellent. The assistant general manager (Gustavo) attended to us the moment the first dish was sent back and continued with us the rest of our 3-hour stay. Our server and everyone else was efficient and cordial.
amazing delicious wonderful -- the cavateli dish was one of the best dishes i EVER had i could not say enough about what an incredible dining experience
An evening meal at Redbird is like looking at the world through rose-colored glasses. Wait-staff in pale pink shirts, deep pink upholstery, a complimentary pink aperitif made with rosé, and all of it aglow in the candlelight reflected off the tent-like ceiling. But don't think frilly and feminine--there's a masculine vibe here too with the oversized bar stools, dark wood, and tall plants reaching to the ceiling. The hamachi appetizer was fresh, full of flavor, and topped with something crunchy and delicious. The lobster risotto had me wondering if I could make that lemon foam at home. Year of the pig is just about the most masculine thing I've ever seen on a plate, and the duck was rich and buttery. My date and I shared the kitkat dessert, and I was a little underwhelmed with it. Or maybe I was just full. Redbird is perfect for any time you want to feel and look gorgeous and have a very memorable meal.
Probably the best restaurant in LA at this time. We would recommend it to any and everyone who has not learned about it.
Nice restaurant! The wine is really good, especially for those who cannot drink too much! The amount of food is really large so if you come here by yourself don’t order too much (the waiter will give you advice tho!), the waitress is really kind and helpful, and all the dishes are delicious!! Will come next time :)
The food was amazing. I got the shrimp and grits and my friend got the buffalo chicken and waffles. We cleaned our plate. Peter was our server and he was amazing. The ambiance was beautiful. I would return.
Excellent service, ambiance, and food. All around a great evening. TY!
Food is very good and wait staff very helpful. Risotto superb, baby gem lettuce salad great, chicken pot pie good flavor but needed more chicken. Stay away from the KitKat bar dessert. My dessert maven friend took one bite and said “ nasty”
I love this place for brunch. The noise level in this place is heaven. One of the few LA restaurants where you can actually hear the person you're eating with. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the food and cocktails are great.
The food was excellent, in particular we lived the pork chop and the sea bass. We have a person in our group that has many allergies and has to be very careful with what she can eat. The wait staff & kitchen took tremendous care of her needs. It is a beautiful restaurant and we truly enjoyed the evening.
My husband has been to Red Bird many times before for work lunch meetings, and it was my first time there. I was very impressed with the restaurant set up and service. I was most satisfied with the quality of the food. My entree of seared hare was phenomenal. Will definitely return.
Service was good. Valet parking good. Extensive wine and spirits list...probably one of the longest we’ve ever seen. Overall good experience. Won’t return not because of bad service or limited food offerings but rather because we want to try something new.
Terrific meal at Redbird, as always.
