Great staff and food, enjoyed our daycation here at the resort’s pool and bar thanks to resortpass.com, $50/person and totally worth it since our pool at our Pono Kai condo is tiny and subpar. We enjoyed pool, jacuzzi, loungers, bar, football playoffs and foozball in the lobby. Great time!

Great drinks and food, bartenders and servers were all very nice and attentive. Service was quick. Quality of food was very good but Caesar dressing was a bit weird ((I still ate it) and I don’t think pickled onions belong on a Caesar even tho I like pickled onions. The servings were generous. Wings and fish and chips were yummy.

This restaurant does not take reservations! Do not book on Open Table!!! We arrived to a busy bar/restaurant and there was no place to sit. Directed to a pool hall/game room with uncomfortably bright lighting for dinner. Food was good once we ordered. I recommend the Mahi mahi “burger”. Waitress was sweet but kept getting waylaid by tables closer to the bar area on her way to get to us. We moved ourselves to a table just outside the game room on the patio and that was better. Overall good experience, but when you make a reservation, you expect.. well to be expected.

FAQs

Yes, The Crooked Surf is a relaxed, oceanfront spot that works well for a casual date night. Guests praise the beachside patio, attentive service, and strong cocktails (margaritas and specialty mai tais are popular), which create a fun, tropical vibe. Note it’s a casual, first-come-first-served bar/restaurant at the Sheraton, so plan to arrive a bit early for a prime table or enjoy drinks at the bar.

The atmosphere is casual, tropical and beach-focused, think poolside bar vibes with ocean views, live music at times, and a friendly staff. Guests repeatedly highlight the relaxed, lively setting, making it a good pick for casual dinners, drinks, and small celebrations rather than formal fine dining.

Portions tend to be generous. Multiple guests specifically call out generous servings, wings, fish and chips, and the Mahi Mahi “burger” are described as hearty and satisfying. If you’re sharing plates, the bar-style menu and shareable items (wings, garlic fries) make it easy to build a filling meal for two or a small group.

For a quieter experience, aim for earlier in the day or early dinner soon after opening. Guests report it can get busy in the evenings and is a popular late-night spot, so arriving early increases your chances of a beachside table. If you want a livelier, bar-style atmosphere with possibly live music, later evening hours are ideal.

Yes, families do dine here and guests report seeing teens and birthday groups. The casual beachside setting, shareable plates (wings, fries) and relaxed patio seating make it family-friendly. There’s no mention of a kids’ menu in the available information, so for younger children consider an earlier seating or ask staff about kid-friendly options.

Evenings and late-night hours tend to be the busiest, with a lively bar atmosphere after dark. Guests also report busier periods during events (sports viewings or live performances). The quietest times are typically earlier in the day or early dinner right after opening; weekday afternoons are likely the calmest times to visit.

Likely yes, the restaurant lists hours as 'Daily 11:00 am–10:00 pm, ' which implies it operates every day. However, holiday hours can change at hotels, so call the Sheraton or the restaurant ahead of a public holiday to confirm service and hours.

The Crooked Surf is open daily from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. Guests also note a lively late-night bar scene at times, so evenings can feel energetic. If you’re planning a holiday or special event, it’s a good idea to call ahead as hotel or seasonal hours can change.

The dress code is business casual. Because the restaurant is oceanfront and relaxed, guests commonly wear casual resort attire, but business casual is the official guideline. If you’re attending a special event, you can check with the restaurant or hotel for any specific expectations.

Weekdays or weekday afternoons are generally your best bet for a quieter visit, while weekends and evenings are livelier and more crowded. If you prefer a relaxed beachside meal, try a weekday lunch or early dinner; if you want a festive bar atmosphere or live music, choose a weekend night.

Yes, The Crooked Surf offers outdoor, oceanfront and poolside seating with patio tables by the beach. Guests frequently praise the outdoor seating and beach views, which are a key part of the restaurant’s tropical, casual appeal.

Special requests may be limited. The restaurant is a casual, hotel-operated, first-come-first-served venue and does not appear to honor OpenTable reservations, so specific seating requests aren’t guaranteed. For accessibility needs, celebrations or large-group requests, call the restaurant or the Sheraton directly in advance, staff can advise on availability and best timing.
