About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Neighborhood gem
Located in downtown Fairhope, Little Bird is a vibrant coastal Southern restaurant and bar that brings a
refreshing and thoughtful dining experience to locals and visitors alike. With a design that blends warmth
and modernity, Little Bird offers a welcoming atmosphere that feels just like home—where every meal
tells a story and every visit creates a lasting memory. Inspired by the cherished legacy of Virginia Eileen
Briand, the beloved mother of Executive Chef Bill Briand, Little Bird is named after her middle name,
“Eileen,” which is derived from the Gaelic word for “little bird”—a symbol of strength and grace. This
deeply personal connection to family and heritage is woven into the very fabric of the restaurant, creating
a space that celebrates both the spirit of Southern hospitality and the rich culinary traditions of the Gulf
Coast.

    Nov 12, 2026 only
Join us on November 12th for an unforgettable evening with the fall return of the Southern Grace Dinner series, as little bird welcomes five-time James Beard Award semifinalist David Bancroft of Acre and Bow & Arrow in Auburn, alongside two-time James Beard Award nominee Erik Niel of Easy Bistro & Bar, Main Street Meats, and Little Coyote in Chattanooga. The night begins with a cocktail reception where you'll mingle with these celebrated chefs over a signature cocktail, setting the stage for a 5-course seated dinner served with Little Bird's signature Southern hospitality. Chef Bancroft, a 2017 Iron Chef Showdown winner, brings his farm-to-table philosophy from Acre's own edible acre of gardens and orchards in downtown Auburn, while Chef Niel draws on his Louisiana roots and classic French training to celebrate the flavors of the Tennessee River Valley. Little bird’s own Chef Bill Briand will be cooking up a course as well, blending the beloved flavors of little bird with these celebrated guest chefs. Guests can elevate the experience further with optional wine pairings curated by Wine Director Will Jones.

Great dinner at Little Bird! We’ve been before so we opted for various small plates. The Gem Lettuce and Cornbread are outstanding, and the Pork Belly and Tuna crudo, phenomenal. Greg took amazing care of us.

Had dinner for the second time here and it did not disappoint. Everything is outstanding. We are fans of both Hope Farm and Little Bird. The care they take to give not only high quality, incredible food, but a whole dining experience is exceptional.

Cajun boy here, born on Bayou Lafourche, now 65. I’ve eaten good homemade Gumbo since I was a baby. The Gumbo at this restaurant is unique and phenomenal in a very good way. I think it is probably the best seafood gumbo I've ever had, and I’ve had plenty. I would definitely take this Gumbo over the Gumbo at Commander's any day. Also, the swordfish entree with a glass of French Latour was stellar. Well done, chef!
