Terra & Vine
Food was very good and service was great. Would come again. If weather permitting eat outside.
We had a after-movie dinner, and it was great. My wife had short ribs, which were tender and juicy, and enough to take some home for our Bichon! We shared a large portion (only size) of pasta fagioli soup, and it was more than enough as a starter for both of us. I had rigatoni with sausage in a tomato vodka sauce: again, so delicious, and enough for my lunch the next day! The wine list is excellent, and prices moderate. Service was extremely friendly and efficient. A great place pre- or post-theatre, but also anytime!
The food was delicious, and the ambiance was fantastic. The wait staff left something to be desired - we were rarely checked on throughout our time there, but with that said when the waiter was around he was extremely helpful. Overall I would say this was a good experience!
We love the food-burrata, octopus, meatball appetizers.
Pasta is always good!
Cocktails and wine are fabulous!
Servers are courteous
We will be back!
Was given happy hour menu and when ordered off it was told we had to sitting at bar. They shouldn’t give the menu to dinner guests
Sat outside/ great dining/ got to my movie on time
Great food and service.
Great place for dinner before the movie.
Wonderful meal. Would have loved a bit more variety.
We ate here following a college tour at Northwestern University. The quiet, sunny patio was a great place to “digest” all the information from the tour. Our server delivered prompt, efficient, and friendly service! The salads are excellent and very large!!
Really good food, nice staff, great ambiance.
The Pear Salad and the Cheesecake were great. The spaghetti with seafood was also really good. The beets and burrata wasn't (I was expecting more burrata than beets and more a creamy burrata), but I don't really like beets so there's that. Drinks were good.
Staff was friendly but I feel the place was a bit understaffed (took longer to get their attention than I expected. Remember the client also wants attention/be served swiftly, not only just to eat good food).
Almost 120 USD for a meal for 2. A bit much, but ok. Would come back.
Former Chicagoan visiting long time friend. I'd heard about Terra and Vine and also knew about Alponna Singh (family are longtime fans of Check Please). We went early on a Thursday night - 5PM after busy day. The timing was perfect - it was still low key enough and not yet overly busy that we could talk easily and catch up. (It became much busier and the decibel level had definitely gone up by the time we left 2 hours later.) The food was adventurous without being over the top. I'm a wine lover and always seeking to learn. Based on our food choices our waiter decided to consult with Alponna on what would pair best. We wanted to try different wines with our various courses so opted to go by the glass. The wine suggestions were sublime and paired perfectly with our various courses. Exquisite dining with the best company.
Great spot for before a show or as a date night venue. !
As Italian goes, Terra and Vine was Meh. I had much higher hopes. For what we paid, it was very ordinary. The service was unbelievably SLOW and it was a random Tuesday and they were not busy. There were long pauses in between courses when there was no food on the table and no waiter in sight. Not awful, but definitely not remarkable. I won't come back here-nothing was good enough to want again.
Everything we ordered was delicious. The beets and burrata cheese was a delightful summer salad. The house salad was huge. Two of us couldn’t finish it. We shared the short ribs. It was a very generous portion and we both loved it. Even the gelato was wonderful. Our server was friendly and competent. We will be back for sure!
An empty wine glass was tipped over and shattered
I have a gash in my leg
I was bleeding using napkins to try to stop the blood
It dripped while we finished our dinner.
THE ONLY ASSISTANCE WAS 2 BAND AIDS!
Would definitely recommend. Had the mussels that come with the naan topping and delicious sauce. Pedro is a great attentive bartender
Excellent for and service at lunch. The Brussels sprouts crostini was delish. Soup and half sandwich delish also. Cream of broccoli soup and tuna salad 1/2 sandwich. I asked for cold tuna, no cheese. No problem!
Very nice lunch menu too. Outstanding, attentive, and friendly service.
This restaurant is fantastic! The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. I also thought that it was a superior value for the quality of service. Definitely make a trip to Terra & Vine!
Great service - good food pleasant ambiance
Papardelle con funghi was very good, but could have used a little more spice. Frutti de mare was excellent with lots of seafood, shrimp, mussels, etc. We shared a poached pear tart for dessert - excellent. Patio dining is available and pleasant in warm weather. The restaurant offers a happy hour during the week, but they say you must be at the bar. This wold be much nicer if they let you sit on the patio, and then I would be tempted to even buy some appetizers to go with.
Quaint corner restaurant on Maple in evanston. Food quality good with larger than anticipated portions. Had the Brussels, octopus, mussels, short rib, rapini, chocolate flourless and Spumoni. All great flavors but a little salty. Had a few different wines and those were great selections as expected from Singh’s place. Service was quick, delightful, knowledgeable and unexpectedly hospitable with recognition of our anniversary. Thanks, we’ll be back.
Convenient for theatre goers, fantastic wine list but sadly, uninspired food.
Good service but food was okay.
Had an excellent very fresh meal with my family, food and service were both on point and everyone said their choices were really well done. Will recommend to those asking for sure.
Wanted to like Alpana Singh’s restaurant but the food was average. There is better Italian for far less. Wine was very good and cocktails decent. Food needed more creativity
Went to movie, food and service was great!
The ambience was wonderful. Relaxed but wonderful character. I wish we had Terra and Vine at our hometown! Perfect to celebrate our son’s graduation! The food was fantastico!!Perfect!
Had a nice lunch to celebrate two birthdays
After movie dinner: excellent! Walk out of the theater and right into the restaurant. Imaginative dishes that were excellent, soups were hearty, and pasta out of the mainstream! Terrific place to return over and over. Great service and good prices!
Food was decent but nothing special. All in all, was just OK. Decent place to eat if you're seeing a movie next door but not worth going out of your way.
All was good, except the ladies’ restroom ran out of toilet paper and there was paper all around the floor. Disappointing for such a nice restaurant
Excellent food preparation for 3 vegetarian dishes; tasty, imaginative and well prepared!
The food at Terra & Vine is exceptional! It's not always in my budget, but it always make special occasions SPECIAL when I decide to go! We were greeted by a local hero and the owner, Alpana Singh, which began our awesome adventure towards dinner at the restaurant. The staff was attentive and nice. Even got a free dessert for my partner's birthday. Definitely going back!!!!
The food was over salted and the mussel sauce had too much tomato in it. The wine was excellent as was the service.
Unfortunately they were dealing with a water leak when we were there, but the interruption was minimal. Also very cool to meet Alpina.
Terra and Vine has been uneven since it opened. As a brunch spot, it's excellent! For dinner or for a pre-movie meal, it has struggled to meet our expectations. The pizzas are good thanks to the oven that has been there since the space was a Wolfgang Puck, and the seafood pasta I ordered this time was very good. Still, why no burger, even a high end one, for dinner? No Caesar salad? Couldn't they offer more fish or even fancy tacos? It seems they are trying not to be the pre/post movie restaurant that Evanston has long enjoyed in that location which usually sends us over to Smylie Brothers or the Mexican Cafe. I hope they can evolve. Thanks.
Service was tremendous. Outside area is nicely arranged.
Love the Brussels spout crostini
