WE have been to Pete Miller's many times. It is one of our favorite places. Last Sunday was a disappointment. The Steak was not up to usual standards and the service was a little off. The music was amazing. Petra Van Nueis is amazing and she alone made the trip worth it. I hope we just hit a bad nightas far as the steak is concerned. The soup and salad was as good as ever.
The food was really great. We enjoyed the music while we were having our drinks and with dinner. The music was not overpowering. I would definitely come back.
We had a fabulous meal. The draft beer, the wine menu and the food were all tremendous.
Great dinner & friendly staff! We went to an early dinner but the jazz band starting up as we paid our check sounded great as well!
My FAVORITE! Live music, excellent food, service and ambiance. Pete Miller's is a jewel in Evanston's crown!
Top notch service! I've been working in restaurants for over 20 years and this place has the best service. So professional. And the food is outstanding. Just went on Friday and going back again tonight to have the dry aged Kansas City strip.....again. And I love that each steak comes with a side. That's a rare find in a steakhouse of this caliber.
What an awesome experience! We will definitely be back!!
My burumundi was delicious. Two others in our party had ribs - also excellent, slide-off-the-bone delicious. Service was great. The jazz quartet was very good. The music added to our enjoyment while still allowing quiet conversation. We’re going to come more often.
All of the staff were cheerful and professional. The food was great. The jazz music was of high quality. I look forward to returning one of these days.
We love the ambiance and the burgers at Pete Millers. They are consistent with the quality of food and service.
We rate based on food, service and ambiance. The ambiance was good, the entertainment was great. Our waiter basically ignored us, we had asked for steak knives and didn’t get them, while tables around us did without asking. There was too much time in between courses.
The steaks were very dry and not warm enough when we received them and we had to wait at least five minutes for steak knives, as I said before.
We were disappointed. There are quite a few good restaurants in Evanston. We will not be returning to Pete Miller’s.
Best NY Strip in town. That live music was a bit annoying though....
We and our friends enjoyed the "Jazz Music" and the Lobster/Steak special. I had a salad and the other three had the soup. Everyone enjoyed their meals/music/drinks and the friendly waiter and the manager.
Will be go again??? You bet!
Excellent Lobster Bisque. Reliable for a good Ribeye, tender, juicy and great flavor. Romantic spot with live music.
Attentive service and delicious food!
As soon as we walked in, greeted with big smiles and seated us in a cozy booth, great food and excellent service
Our wait person, Yvette , was outstanding- very efficient, professional, attentive, and friendly. We would ask for her the next time. Our food was delicious.
Q-TIPS SAY: Service and drinks were outstanding. The Mr. had French Onion Soup and Firecracker Shrimp. I chose the Caesar Salad and Bacon wrapped scallops. Mrs. Q says: Thank you, the manager and bartender/waiter, for the awesome service and hospitality. They have Jazz musicians daily for the “Happy Hour” in the bar & “specials on food/drinks.” So go and enjoy the ambiance, service, Jazz, and drinks/food during “Happy Hour” and also dinner in the dining room. No dessert this time because we were full and had no room in the inn.
We always enjoy Pete Miller's for dinner and music. The food has never disappointed us, and the service is great. Our go-to place for special occasions in Evanston.
Our favorite "STEAK HOUSE" for any occasion or no occasion
Love the Jazz
Perfect place for a special occasion. The staff could not have been nicer and the food was great. The live music provided a perfect ambiance for celebrating our anniversary.
Our server Mike was the best! Jazz always a plus.
Just OK service and good for the money.
The music was too loud. There was no information given about the price fixe option until we asked if they still offered it. Our dinner was not hot. Our friend ordered his steak plain, but it arrived covered with cheese. We were disappointed in our experience.
Good food and pleasant atmosphere
Live music was an added plus
Overall it was a good restaurant. The service and food was very good. The ambiance is awesome with the live jazz music. However, be prepared to spend a lot of money. Also, I think the dish my daughter was a rip-off. Let this be a warning. Don't order the spinach and cheese ravioli. It cost around $21. All she got was 5 pieces of ravioli for that price. It didn't even come with a side dish. I looked at the menu again when I got home and saw it was supposed to come with asparagus and tomatoes and she never got it. I would have said something when we were at the restaurant, but didn't realize it at the time. Anyway, vegetarian ravioli is a cheap product and therefore, she should have gotten at least twice as much for that price. Also, the average entree was $30.
Overall this is an excellent selection for an upscale business dinner or a pleasant dinner out with your spouse or significant other. It is a bit noisy depending on where you sit, so the focus should be on the food and visiting. It is good for a business dinner as long as you are in entertainment mode rather than actually conducting business.
Pricewise it it about middle of the road for a steak house. There are others in Chicago that are a bit pricier, but you do not have to sacrifice quality to have a good meal at Pete Miller's.
Not clean!!! Very expensive restaurant..Booths were full of crumbs.. and we were seated at 6pm!
My wine glass wasn’t even clean- it had someones lipstick still on it🤮
My filet was not cooked enough and came out cold!
Creamed spinach was overloaded with greasy pungent cheese
Very disappointing, we definitely will not go back
We were in Evanston for our daughter's graduation and had an amazing celebration dinner at Pete Miller's. I'm sure all of the wait staff is amazing, but we had Jake for the evening who was personable, attentive, stellar memory and all around fun and great service. Phenomenal cocktails, appetizers, steaks, wine, desserts with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The live music was perfect!
Excellent food, live music added to the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing dinner
We have been wanting to go here once our son started Northwestern. Took him there for graduation. The whole night did not disappoint. The host staff were very enthusiastic and warming. We brought a cake to have and the took it to the kitchen to hold, cut and serve. The food was amazing. One of the best meals meals we have ever had. We will come back next time in Evanston.
Great food, great music and great service!!
Service was outstanding. We were celebrating our daughters grad school graduation and our dinner was a wonderful end to the day.
I’ve been to many upscale steak shops. The food should have been prepared better than this.I have high steak standards. This was not tender. No prep of the meat. Sides were a mess. Service was excellent so it saved the night for us. I could have made this steak at home.
Was amazed how good it was. I had the best time and love music was awesome. Would recommend to anyone.
The food was overpriced and of poor quality. The service was rather unprofessional. The crab cakes were the worst I’ve ever had. This restaurant is still in the 1950s without improvements.
The drink prices are about the same as fancy cocktails spots. The food is always great. It might seem pricey but it’s really not that much more than a franchise restaurant like red lobster or a longhorn . As I see it, for a couple of dollars more here and there you get a much higher quality steak. So delicious! The wait staff is pretty cool too.
Great atmosphere, the staff is awesome, the food is delicious
Went to Pete Miller's Evanston for Father's Day celebration. We anticipated that the restaurant would be busy, but had not expected at 2 hour+ dining experience that involved only two courses. Service was slow and, at times, inattentive. Waiter offered bread when taking our dinner orders but then disappeared. Most irritating was 45 minute wait between appetizers and main course. Once finally served, the featured KC strip steak was surprising tasteless, requested bearnaise sauce was presented in a slightly larger than a thimble sized container. Somewhat annoying host was pressed into duty to help deliver plates, referring to everyone as "my friend" and expecting platitudes about how we were enjoying the evening. Between the service problem, the high cost and mediocre food quality, we will not be making a repeat visit anytime soon to Pete Miller's Evanston
45 mins between appetizers and entrees, server never came over
