What Insiders Are Saying
Brawn in Shoreditch might be one of the city’s best neighbourhood restaurants. One that might even make you want to change neighbourhoods.
Brawn is an amazing place to eat and drink some good natural wines. Such a lovely restaurant, with its colourful chairs and flowers. In the plates, crispy artichokes and raw beef with parmesan : an original recipe which wakes up a traditional meal. A touch of British Pop, a piece of french mind, somewhere between Chassignolles and the Fooding land. A hot spot in Shoreditch, sincerely and warmly.
I think Brawn is quickly becoming one of my favourite restaurants in London. The food is outstanding, the wine is relish and very fairly priced. This was the second time we've been and it did not disappoint!
Perfect! Nice tempo. Everyone really on their toes!
Great service, amazingly delicious food and great value for money. Highly recommend it.
Great service and ambience. Duck breast for main underwhelming
Haven’t been for years - still as good as I remembered. Had a wonderful lunch, clams & mussels, then lamb neck, and a gorgeous chenin blanc. Great service, spacious room.
I love this restaurant- been several times over the past few years and it’s still as good as ever. Very tasty food, reasonably priced. There are two dining areas, both nicely appointed to feel cosy and relaxed. Despite being buzzy and full on a Tuesday night, it wasn’t too loud. The staff seem well trained and friendly. I wish I lived closer- I’d be here every week.
This is a gem of a restaurant. I love coming here. If you want a great meal, in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where you can kick back and enjoy yourself, this is the place. It never disappoints and always impresses people I bring here. It's great! Don't change a thing!
Food is delicious- highly recommend the pork, which was succulent and had a perfect mustardy sauce we asked for extra bread to sop up. Service was friendly and helpful. The ambiance is cozy and spare but warm.
An excellent outing for foodies.
The menu was top notch and excellently cooked. My wife had the Turbot, which she said was more tasty than another restaurant in the area which specialises in this dish. We tried three small plates and had a main course. The courses we tried were fantastic! The desert was creamy and nice (the Tiramisu) but given the superb standard of the other dishes it was slightly underwhelming. If I return I will probably try something else.
It's moderately priced and has a canteen-kitchen vibe. It's a little far from the other bars and restaurants in the area but during the summer months this is probably a plus.
It’s been a while since I was blown away by a place - I think Brat pre it’s Michelin star was the last one - but this was exceptional. Everything from the ambiance, service, cocktails and food was fabulous. I’ve already booked my next table!
Little bit expensive for the food - the starters seemed of a higher standard/better flavour than the mains, but the overall experience was good and the staff were great. Would probably come back!
Great food, squid starter was amazing!
Great interesting wine. Okay service. This is the sort of place where you need food to go with your wine
This is our second time at Brawn. We LOVE the food. Both time we’ve had an amazing culinary experience. However the service on our last visit was quite disappointing. We understand that you are busy and there is going to be a waiting time, but we chose your restaurant to celebrate our graduation and it seemed that the waitress was having a hard time dealing with her tables or maybe she wasn’t in a good mood, but it’s not fair on us, specially bc we are paying and wanting to have a good time - We were told that we had to order fast because there’s a lot of people in the restaurant. We could tell she was stressed and made us feel stressed... putting pressure on us and serving us with actitud.
But other than that, the food was heaven!
This is the third time I have eaten in Brawn and each time it has been a delight! The space is light and airy, the food is delicious and the staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. There was a bit of a delay between our starters and main courses, but as we were sitting, drinking wine and chatting away it wasn't a problem. Perfect spot for a relaxed evening with family and friends. I will be back!
My favourite restaurant <3
Been here a couple of times and loved it every time.
Loved it. Such a great vibe. Food was fantastic. They even remixed my Negroni for me when I said it was too heavy on the Campari.
The squid, cod and anchovies were delicious - the rest was ok. They ran out of half of the main menu but we kind of forgave as we were a late table (8:45pm).....although they continued to sit several tables after us? I could see it was super busy and there was a drive to turn tables over quickly but what Brawn may have gained on sales they lost on impression. I've left thinking lovely anchovies but not the best customer experience (except the guy who greeted us was very friendly).
p.s. Nice loos.
The best in East London.
About as good as it gets. Never had a bite of food at Brawn that wasn't delicious, a glass of wine that wasn't excellent or service that wasn't charming and friendly. I work as a restaurant manager and go here when I need to remind myself why I do what I do.
Very good! The food is amazing! And we enjoy the cozy environment as well
Was our last meal in London and my best meal of my vacation. Incredible.
Our favourite restaurant, which is saying something with the choice available in Hackney & Shoreditch. Always come on our anniversary. Amazing again thank you!
My only comment would be that it was my third time having the burrata and I have much preferred the combinations on the previous two occasions - but - always a pleasure in this restaurant!
Excellent ambiance and food, with a great team!
Highly recommend for a great time out
My partner and I went for lunch and it was delicious as always! The food was amazing and the wine fantastic! The staff is always very friendly and helpful with the food and wine selection! It is definitely our favourite restaurant for a special occasion!
This is one of the best neighbourhood restaurants in London. Don’t miss it.
Fun restaurant good food on a frequently changing menu.
Staff attentive open kitchen so nowhere to hide
Particularly good fish but disappointing cheese plate not worthy of the price
Brawn is a lovely space, and we dined on a nice sunny day which was perfect, as the restaurant is nice and airy. I found some of the dishes nice and others underwhelming, and all quite expensive for what they were. Service attentive but lacking some warmth, I just seemed to get the sense we were a real bother the whole time, for some reason I’m not clear on.
Always fantastic. Wine list epic but pricey. Food quality is close to perfect.
Amazing food, wines and atmosphere as always! One of my favorite restaurants in London!
My lamb entree was great, my dining partner’s pork was tough. It was a good experience and overall I liked it very much.
I was very sceptical booking this restaurant. The reviews were generally good but also some were bad, particularly about service. For me, they couldn't be more wrong. The service was excellent from start to finish. We were at the table for over three hours and were never rushed. Always people available to help and our main server was friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel special. The food options are all excellent and it was a case of choosing what not to have. Sharing small plates to start is definitely good advice. Wine list is long but there are plenty of options under £40 which is great. The dining room is loud an buzzing. we were in the area overlooking the kitchen which for me is the best part to be in. Can't recommend this restaurant enough and to top it off, the prices are entirely reasonable.
We love Brawn. Great food, great service, unpretentious, always a treat.
You see that all the crew is committed to give you a great experience!
Friendly, helpful staff. Yummy food (my only suggestion is that the cod dish needed a bit more flavour), great service, lovely ambience, buzzy vibe. Would definitely go again!
A fav in the neighbourhood. Love the food, service and ambience. We try to avoid dinners (cause very noisy) but launches are great!
Hits all the high notes. Great location, lovely staff, and fantastic food. What more could you want.
