What Insiders Are Saying
Bill and Giuliana Rancic force us to like them with excellent Italian food in a trendy setting.
Went for Valentines Day and had a lovely dinner. Great food, wine menu, and service. Loved every appetizer/small plate but I’ve had better pasta at other Italian restaurants in Chicago.
This is the italian restaurant that changed my attitude to Italian cuisin
We’ve been here a lot - unfortunately have lost the ‘feeling special’ vibe this last time. The whole place seemed focused on getting people in and out.
Small portions but great service/food
Started at the bar. Wonderful bartender, Luke. Knowledgeable and polite and went the extra mile with all of our questions. Moved to dinner... great selection. Went w apps. Gotta get the cheese stuffed peppers and meatballs. Seafood risotto was wonderful and I don’t even like seafood. Gelato w espresso over the top is phenomenal. Great experience.
Always phenomenal food and service!
It was a nice night, but we ordered meatballs and never got them, our waitress forgot. Was looking forward to them, maybe if the waiters/waitresses could write down the orders they won’t forget.
Great service from management. All recommendations
Very expensive, small portions, quality of food was disappointing.
Great service throughout the experience, food was good, portion size was small (but that's OK)
Always amazing! Excellent food and service.
Ambiance was first class as was the bartending and server staff! Food was just so-so.
Everything was amazing! Food was absolutely delicious!!
Had an early valentines dinner date and the waiter and servers were outstanding as usual. They provided a complimentary Valentine’s dessert at the end. Always dependable for an excellent meal on special occasions.
Loved it, Truffle Risotto was the bomb...will be back.
Absolutely wonderful dinner, server was attentive but not overbearing, food was perfectly timed and delicious, and cocktails were awesome!
Amazing food and service and great wine list. Very memorable dining experience!
Table reservation did not work well, services not good, receptionists were not kind people, took a long time to someone take the order, food also took long to be served and the appetizer came together with the entree. Pricy for the services standards, although food was good.
Visiting Chicago for a friend’s birthday and heard from multiple people that we had to go to RPM! We actually commented on how lively the atmosphere was, but that you could hear each other and not have to yell across the table. Our waitress, Jackie, was so great. Even sent an appetizer to the table to celebrate my friend’s birthday! The food was INCREDIBLE and the wine and cocktails were delish! Definitely would recommend to all ages, and would love to come back again!
Amanda took care of us! I have been wanting to go to RPM for a long time, and finally decided to celebrate my birthday there with my family. I loved the fine dining experience for my kids and we all enjoyed the food and the pacing of the courses. We were impressed before the bread came out!
Service was excellent as was the food. Pasta a bit pricey for size of plates
One of our favorite spots (we order in from RPM often too).
Our food was delicious. Fresh hors d’oeuvres- radicchio salad and Jerusalem artichokes, then extra large shrimp; others had steak, pasta and risotto with truffles.
Our server was excellent and uber patient as we took forever to order.
Always a safe bet. Always awesome.
Overall BEST RESTAURANT EVER!!! Hands down the most enjoyable experience and our server was absolutely fantastic (ask for Dre, you won't regret it). Food is outstanding, they are SO accommodating to dietary needs and you leave feeling good! I will forever travel to Chicago JUST to eat at RPM! Thank you to the staff and everyone that helped us!
A wonderful ending to an amazing day. We went to the Hamilton matinee and traveled the short distance to RPM Italian for dinner. The valet parking made for an easy arrival. We were a little early for our reservation and were directed to the spacious bar area. What a beautiful place. We ordered a drink and were escorted to our table moments later. Our waitress was very nice and patiently explained those dishes we had questions about. Her suggestions for appetizers (octopus) and wine were spot on. Our entrees were delicious, dessert scrumptious and the over all experience memorable. If you are looking for a special evening, this is a great spot.
It was amazing!! The drinks, the food, and service were incredible. It was perfect for our bday celebration.
Fantastic food, but I didn't realize the gift certificate I had been given as a gift could not be utilized on Saturdays, per Lettuce Entertain You rules until I went to pay. Very strange - I've never encountered that before when trying to redeem a gift card or gift certificate at a restaurant before. A tense end to an otherwise great meal!
EVERYthing about our visit to RPM Italian outstanding..the food, the service (thank you JC for treating us so well!), the decor, the impeccable cleanliness of the bathroom...it was so worth the wait and a perfect first-ever dinner in Chicago. We can't wait to go back!
I made a reservation for my husbands birthday in advance so that we could get a prime time. We arrived just before our scheduled reservation time and then had to wait 45 minutes PAST our reservation time! They were unapologetic and so snotty. Then we were seated in probably the worst seat in the house. It looked like they pulled a table from the back and put it right in the walkway. Although the food is good - it is NOT worth going.
Never disappointed! Been to RPM Italian many times and we always enjoy the experience.
Everything about this place is top notch
This is my 2nd time to dine at RPM Italian in Chicago. The food was delicious as usual, and I particularly enjoyed the octopus (appetizer) and fried olives very much. I look forward to going back to RPM very soon.
Bobby and Monique were wonderful, as was the food and wine!
Such an amazing experience. Server was so great and the food was beyond delicious! Would go back in a heartbeat
Had the veal Parmigiano and it was incredibly spicey. The zucchini fritte was very greasy and not very flavorful. The desserts were great and by far the best part of the meal.
Portions are too small
I loved the carpaccio, excellent, in overall, great experience
Was excited about going, our friends rave about RPM Italian. In the end, our local Italian dive had better food at a much better price point. I was annoyed my veal parm came without a side of pasta but not nearly as annoyed as when the bill reflected a $9 charge for a very small bowl of plain pasta.
Waitress was delightful. Wine was very good. No bread on table.
Felt bare bones. So many better choices in Chicago.
