Ruggeri's - Dallas
Live Piano nightly.
Good food and great service. Very friendly neighborhood. Live music over the weekend
excellent menu with one of the only restaurants in Dallas that keeps Sweetbreads as a regular menu item. Plus a great veal chop. Many items, all cleverly prepared. Highly recommended.
Missed seeing that handsome Tom. We had a lovely time. Chicken Kiev very good. Nice time
Being from the NE I have had my share of authentic lasagna, but I must say that Ruggeri's was the best I have had. They use green pasta and it t was chuck full of meat and plenty of bechamel sauce and tomato sauce.
A real gem with terrific food. Pasta is a standout.
Place feels like you have stepped into the 1950s. Service was not great but for some reason it almost felt like part of the schitk. But make no mistake the food was top notch. “Delicious” does not quite get there. Go for the food. You will be a happy camper.
wait staff was remarkable- food amazing & we sat by the fire on a very cold night ! Loved it ! Will def go again !
Wish they had a better white wine selection. the live music is great. Very romantic place.
Best Italian in the city, hands down! Sergio was great!
Nice menu selection and good service.
The food is consistently very good. Elderly wait-staff so you must be patient. Soft piano playing with excellent selection.
Ceasar salad is authentic and the lasagna is fantastic!
Place was dirty expensive the waiter obviously did not want to b there poor food choices
This was our second Christmas with Ruggeri's, and it was totally wonderful experience.
This place was amazing!! Food was really good and the service was great too. Everyone we encountered was super helpful and attentive. This was a birthday dinner for my wife and the cake was great! Candle and all. All staff wished her happy birthday. Just a 5 star place!! Thank you, Ruggerri's.
One of my favorite places ever
Wonderful as always!
Loved it! Will be back
Nice restaurant. First time there. Highly recommend.
Great standards such as spaghetti bolognese and spumoni ice cream. The nightly special soup, mushroom, and fish special was also very good. Great piano player.
Great food and outstanding service, thank you for a memorable dining experience.
Not value for price. Good ambiance to meet.
Traditional Italian. Good wine list. Nice waiters. Pasta dishes the best and any veal dish
Enjoyed the atmosphere, Attentive staff, good food..
The prices are significantly higher in reality than listed on the website. The food is very average and not a good value for the quality.
As always, Tom and his staff delivered a delicious, plentiful meal. Bruschetta was delightful as was toasted ravioli. My friends from Wales licked their bowls clean from the Cioppino and the veal was tender with a light, flavorful sauce. The chocolate mousse cake they brought for birthday girl was amazing,
Our only complaints were these two: we asked to split appetizers and they plated and delivered to wrong people. Also, out waiter was not familiar with the wines on the list, but we chose one we loved.
Always a lovely, intimate setting where you never feel rushed. Thanks Tom, for making their trip most memorable.
As usual, our family enjoyed a fabulous dinner!
Best eggplant parmigiana I’ve ever had!!
Ruggeri’’s in Preston Hollow is an old-school Italian restaurant with very good traditional Italian food, attentive wait staff, a good wine list, with a somewhat outdated atmosphere. While the clientele tends to run towards a more mature set of diners, families are often seen dining here as well. Ruggeri’s can handle large parties or small with tables of all sizes. Open every day of the year.
This restaurant was quaint and the ambiance was nice. The wait staff were sweet. Food was ok. Not good enough for the price point. But we had a lovely dinner and they comped our birthday dessert for our anniversary! It even had a birthday candle 😂. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ are all I can give this place. It was rated 4-1/2 ⭐️ on yelp.
Fantastic evening! My co-worker and I were in Dallas (from Maryland) for a nursing conference. We were looking for a nice Italian restaurant to have dinner on our last night before flying home. We scored big time with Ruggeri's! We arrived and were greeted by the owner, who was very pleasant. We were seated a nice table near the piano player, but not so close we couldn't enjoy conversation. Our waiter was very accommodating and attentive. We ordered a California Cabernet Sauvignon, which was delicious. I ordered the Mozzarella Caprese Salad, which was absolutely one of the best I'd ever tasted. My friend ordered the Vitello di Parmigiano (the owner stopped to check on us and told her she could cut that with a fork - and yes, she did!). I ordered a chicken dish: Petto di Pollo con Peperoni, which was sublime - tender breast of chicken, bell peppers, kalamata olives, onions, pepperoncini (providing just the right amount of kick), all served in a Marsala wine sauce. I asked the waiter if I could have artichoke hearts added, to which he replied "of course!". The meal came with a half a peach, marinated in something delicious and was the perfect accompaniment to the spice. For dessert, we each ordered Cappuccino and Tiramisu de'Autore, and OH. MY. GOSH, it was the best EVER! We have a favorite place in Little Italy, Baltimore, that serves up the most delectable tiramisu, however, this topped that! We had a lovely time for our last night in Dallas and this restaurant couldn't have gone any further to meet our expectations and satisfaction. I should mention that as we waited to be seated, another gentleman said he was from Colorado and ALWAYS comes to Ruggeri's when he's in town. Now that's an endorsement! Just so you know, this is not "cheap eats"; the food was on the expensive side, however, we felt that it was definitely worth it. Our total bill was $230 including wine, appetizers, entrees, cappuccino, dessert and tip.
Fantastic, The Best. The atmospher is Cozy, The cuisine exceptional, and The Wait staff phenomenal
The grilled salmon salad was delicious and well prepared.
Old school Italian restaurant with very good service, food and ambience in Preston Hollow. Nice wine list and full service bar with seating accommodate those diners without reservations. The Chicken Kiev is a favorite of my wife and I enjoyed the steak I selected. We finished with a delicious key lime pie
We were pleasantly surprised by the meal. The service was very attentive. The food was extremely good. We had salad and toasted ravioli to start. The toasted ravioli were amazing. Much larger and I am assuming hand made. Simply delicious. My daughter had linguini Alfredo and loved it. My wife had veal lemomata and it was amazing. Not soggy and not overly lemony. Just right. I had the sole and it was cooked perfectly. Not breaded too much and nicely seasoned. It really felt like an old school Italian restaurant with solid food. Not a type of restaurant I associate with Dallas. We will definitely be going back.
Great place, loved it
Best Italian food in Dallas!
Had 7 of us and all were happy with their choices and meal. Owner came by and sang for us, very pleasant,
And advised us about Wednesday nights where music is the norm. Already booked next Wednesday.
This was our first visit to Ruggeri's and we were favorably impressed. I had the Parmesan alla Marsalla which I thought was very good, rich gravy with mushrooms and great flavor. My wife had a shrimp and scallop pasta dish that she thought was "Okay". The bread served was wonderful and after we ate the entire first basket, probably 5 pieces, we were served a second. The wine list was fairly limited but I was familiar with most of them so, for me, it was quite adequate.
This was a Wednesday night and they had an entertainer that played an electronic piano and sang. He was quite entertaining and took requests from guests and pretty much played everything from memory. All in all he was quite fun and provided the little extra that made the night memorable. We will definitely go back and probably on a Wed. night!
Tom knows food and people! Great combination my "ole golf buddy".
