Bienvenidos, y'all!

Inspired by long days on the Gulf, late nights on the ranch and the colorful creations of our abuela, our family's Kitchen & Cantina showcases the rich foods and traditions we grew up with on both sides of the border. Nothing matches the flavor of food grilled over mesquite. Try wood-fired Texas quail swaddled in homemade tortillas, jalapeno rellanos stuffed with house-made chorizo and sizzling, family-style parrilladas - huge mixed platters of wild game and fresh vegetables, topped with pico de gallo and queso fresco - a unique spin on Houston barbeque. Our days begin roasting chilies and tomatoes, rolling fresh tortillas in our bakery and wringing every last drop of Ruby Red grapefruit for cocktails. We hand-grind our own sausage and hand-trim every ounce of meat in our butchery, then anoint it with the savory seasonings and marinades we've honed over generations. A few margaritas on our patio and you've found your new casa sweet casa.

We had a terrific dinner last night. Hector our server was friendly and efficient. One of the best servers we have experienced in a very long time. Only criticism is the drinks were loaded with far too much ice. When we finished the drinks the glasses still had ice to the brim! ALL ice, very little drink.

Place was busy and there was less wait staff than usual, our server (Hector) did a great job, with other non-wait staff helping out. Our food and drinks were great , the place was clean and organized…..all in all a great brunch.

– “where sunshine spends the winter” – also known as Tex-Mex cuisine served in an Old-West-inspired atmosphere alongside music inspired by Austin.

The cuisine is a combination of 1950s Tex-Mex and the wood grill that has taken the food to another level by way of fajitas and more. An “evolved Tex-Mex menu,” includes the classics: tacos, nachos, tamales and enchiladas plus more intricate dishes such as wood-grilled fajitas and shrimp tacos always served with just-made flour tortillas, all while paying homage to the traditions and recipes that have been a part of the Texas culture for decades.

We made reservations here for my sister's birthday Easter weekend. Upon entering, they were less busy than anticipated. However, the hostess, the service, the food, the team work, the atmosphere... 10 out of 10. Special shout out to our waitress Crystal. She was PHENOMENAL. If you happen to visit Superica, ask for her.

Pretty good tex mex. one stellar item - the chicken - corn chowder - excellent. And the service could not have been better. Salsa and chips and complementary queso were all appreciated. We would go back. The fajitas and carne asada held their own! Finally - the beer was ice cold. Cerveza from!!
