In looking for a local “Spanish” tapas, I found PintxoPote. What a delightful surprise to have a type of tapas or small bites of Basque origin as opposed to typical Spanish tapas, which there are other restaurants nearby offering that. Their dishes were unique and delicious. All were prepared on the spot. It is obvious that the owner and staff take pride in the food they serve, and the manner in which it is served. The wine selection is also very good and pairs as well with the foods offered. For a unique boutique experience. I definitely suggest trying this restaurant. We will definitely return!

Mission District
About the restaurant
Owners Luis Raga and Raul Aguilera brings you their vision of a casual bar/restaurant in Spain: a fun and unpretentious spot to gather friends, family, or dates. We bring you flavors from all over Spain, the concept is tapas and paellas to be shared at the table. You'll see dishes come on and off the menu often and while we offer a broad selection of dishes, due to our small kitchen, certain tapas will run out during the service. Don’t miss our Happy hour Mon-Fri 5-6pm ONLY on BAR & HIGH TOPS for heavily discounted tapas and drinks.
Also, make sure to check our back patio, it will transport you to a warm summer night of the south of Spain.
If driving street parking could be tricky, check out the SF general hospital parking structure just 2 blocks away from the restaurant. If coming from the East Bay or Peninsula location is just a few blocks from the freeway (exit Cesar Chavez/Potrero on the 80 freeway). The nearest Bart station is at Potrero & 24th, a 15-minute walk.

Brought to you by Award Winning Chef Michael Chiarello and located at Pier 5 on the bustling San Francisco Waterfront, Coqueta is inspired by the cuisines of Spain. This is my favorite Spanish restaurant in the Bay Area. The food is exquisite with tasty paellas. My favorite is the Tomahawk Paella. The have excellent mixologists with delicious drinks. The service is excellent and friendly. Be prepared to wait several minutes even if you have a reservation, as they restaurant is always busy. I highly recommend this restaurant.
