The deep pockets of the Bacchus group (who own Spruce and The Village Pub among others) are on full display when you enter La Connessa and behold the impressive 2 story bar. The food also impresses with solid wood fired oven pizzas, excellent pastas and, on my visit, a fantastic whole pan seared Branzino. Dessert highlight was the apple tart with a perfect, light crusty. House made gelatos, though, were slightly grainy. Service is warm and the restaurant has a great ambiance. Not as formal as Spruce or the Village Pub, it’s also not as expensive. Wine lust is excellent.

Our waitress, whose name I regret not remembering, was superbly professional, while being very kind and considerate. Everything about the Scotts Seafood Restaurant in San Jose was exquisite.
