The Japanese film Tampopo was marketed as the world’s first “ramen western”. It’s the story of two truck drivers, Goro & Gun, who use their culinary expertise to change the fate of a struggling noodle shop. Those two characters' passion for noodle-making lives on at Calgary’s 150-seat noodle bar — led by executive chef Ryusuke Araki. Located inside Stephen Avenue Place, upstairs on the Plus 15 level, the restaurant melds modern art graphics with distinctive hardwood and right angles of Japanese decor. Tuck into a steaming bowl of ramen with our house-made noodles, made even better with an aji-tama egg. Or depart from noodle fare with house specialities like tuna poke or pork steam buns. We have an office group who's in love with this restaurant for happy hour. Food is amazing and fairly priced. We love that it's not too noisy and always able to have good quality conversation with each other. This is our go to every time we need to get together and destress. You guys are doing a great job, keep it up.

Enjoyed the Omakase experience. Chef May served us herself and shared stories, pictures, and an outstanding meal with us. All the food was fantastic, with highlights like the Sea Breem, the bison dumpling, and Shishamo (I hope I got that right after researching!) Would have liked to know the cost beforehand, as it was expensive, but certainly with it for a birthday experience
