Sarasota's Original Omakase Experience.

Yūgen is a 10-seat Japanese chef’s counter led by Executive Chef Lwin Siss. Yūgen presents a multi-course tasting menu showcasing seasonality, balance, and traditional Japanese techniques beyond sushi. The experience is complemented by Beverage Director and Michelin-recognized Sommelier of the Year Benjamin Coutts, whose curated wine and sake pairings are designed to harmonize with each course.

Open Wednesday through Sunday, the journey unfolds at a hidden chef’s counter within a serene, immersive space.

What to expect: A seated, chef-led tasting menu lasting approximately two hours, counter seating only.

An absolutely exceptional dining experience from start to finish! Every course was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with incredible flavors. The attention to detail, creativity, and quality of the ingredients made the entire experience truly unforgettable. It was a unique culinary journey that exceeded all expectations. This is a great option! They have really good lunch menus, and the nigiri was incredibly fresh. The miso soup was delicious, too, and the service was very friendly. It’s a new spot, but I think it’s already a great place to visit. Definitely coming back!

fun experience with the teppanyaki cook. food was great and hot. Sirloin steak was very yummy and tender, I thought I had ordered filet accidently it was so tender. Brian was an awesome server and kept on top of the many needs of 9 guests. we enjoyed Monday Happy Hour with my favorite, Plum Wine!
