About the restaurant
Set in historic Herndon, the Russia House Restaurant offers Russian hospitality and culinary excellence in all its details. The restaurant opened in July of 1992 by the friendly owners Ali and Homeyra Darugar, and together they created an atmosphere of aristocratic dining with classic cuisine, with the warm feeling that you are dining at your aristocratic grandmother’s table. Mrs. Darugar moved from Russia with her grandparents to Switzerland, where she learned to cook in her grandmother’s kitchen. She brought her great culinary talents here to the United States and created the exquisite menu and served as the head chef in the first few years the restaurant was opened. The restaurant features Russian, Continental and Georgian cuisine with a French flair. PLEASE CALL RUSSIA HOUSE DIRECT- 703-787-8880 TO MAKE RESERVATIONS ON VALENTINE'S DAY.

We love Russia House. The owners are so gracious that we feel like we are being invited into their home for dinner. The food is exquisite, the ambiance perfect. They have an extensive menu, with some items off menu they will prepare on request. We have been going to Russia House for many years and look forward to going back. We really like the borscht. I had the duck breast with sour cherries. It was perfect. My wife and son had chicken with walnut sauce, which was also perfect. Highly recommended!

I generally don't find DC restaurants to be the best, but the service today was enough to get me to come back. There was a mix-up with an order. Accidents happen, right? Well, they brought out the right order, and not only did they acknowledge the mistake, but they brought out desserts for the whole table to make up for it. Accountability was outstanding. The manager even came to the table to apologize. It's a small thing, and we weren't expecting it at all, but it was noted at the table, and the table touch showed just how professional the restaurant is. Thank you for a great experience.

My two teenage sons and I celebrated Father's Day brunch at CUT by Wolfgang Puck, and it was fantastic. The food was delicious, with each dish absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure everything was perfect. The jazz duo added a great touch, creating a vibrant yet relaxing atmosphere. Unlike traditional buffets that can be overwhelming with too many choices, CUT offered just the right amount of food, allowing us to enjoy each dish without feeling overwhelmed. Overall, it was a wonderful brunch, and I will definitely be back. CUT by Wolfgang Puck is highly recommended for its excellent food, outstanding service, and great ambiance.

We drove out here from Md. To try a new Peruvian place. The restaurant was full and very loud and dark. The food was a mix of Peruvian and Colombian . My LomoSaltado was very good and my Husbands Pulpo Al Olivo was very tender but,our friend had the Bandeja Montanera and he thought is was ok but said he probably wouldn’t recommend it. The Pisco Sours were delicious. Also, I wasn’t that crazy about the Empanadas either. I think we’ll stick to our regular Peruvian Restaurant.

Slightly slower meal pace than usual. Not sure if the hibachi offering is ideal as it throws lots of fumes across to adjacent booths. Kind of annoying when a hibachi is frying across from you. Anyway a good experience overall.
