Saltwater Grill
Saltwater Grill was just named Galveston's 2016 Restaurant of the Year. Thanks to everyone who voted!
The tables were very close together with us sitting within a foot of our neighbor. If you are concerned about social distancing, I would not recommend this place.
The food was excellent.
Excellent dining experience! The bouillabaisse was awesome!
Very nice, food was really good. Had lobster egg rolls and steak abs shrimp. Enjoyed the experience.
Excellent as always!
Shrimp cocktail was great. Seabass was better!
New year’s
Good overall
Place was clean but Smokey in dining toom
The waitress was amazing. The food was fantastic. The dessert was Devine. Thank you for a memorable birthday.
Food was so great!! Everyone was so nice and helpful. Felt completely safe dining there during COVID.
We eat here every time we are in town. Never had a meal I didn’t like. Staff is amazing!
Came in for happy hour, we had the filet, it was delicious and cooked perfectly! Overall a wonderful meal and experience and would highly recommend you try this place.
Food was great and the service was awesome. Really appreciated our server who surprised us with an anniversary dessert. Very nice and warm gesture. I would definitely come back and invite friends and family. Thanks again for a wonderful evening.
One of my favorite restaurants. The food is excellent and the waitstaff are awesome! Thank you for helping us celebrate a very special Birthday!
Food and service were excellent. Only area for improvement is the wine list; it's pretty limited and basic, although you can find something to drink. Cocktail list looks much better.
Great food, great service, highly recommended. Will definitely be back
Not too crowded on this visit, so noise level was low. But we do not mind the noise level on more busy nights....feels fun and active. As for service and food here... WE ARE NEVER DISAPPOINTED! Both have been excellent on all of our times here and we will continue to come back often!! Thank you for always accommodating our special requests, too!
First time there, will be back often
Delicious food, fabulous cocktails and outstanding service ! A great place to enjoy a 49th wedding anniversary!
When my mother visits, this is her favorite restaurant. It was her birthday, as well, and the staff made her feel special.
Great food, service was outstanding Kenneth took great care us. Will be back soon
Our anniversary was spent here. We started with champagne and the ahi tuna tower. The best tuna we have ever put in our mouth. Unusual flavor combinations in it kept you coming back it’d after bite. Kenneth was attentive and very polite. He was eager to answer our questions. Took our photo too. The ribeye was cooked to perfection. The sea bass and crab were on point in their creamy butter sauce. Dessert was just as good. Creme brûlée was just right and the chocolate cream cake was unusual and delicious. A great meal. Not very fancy. Don’t get dressed up. It could be noisy if it weren’t for pandemic seating. The ambiance isn’t quite up to par with the food. That’s the two main reasons I rate four out of five stars.
Nice place and great food
Great staff and excellent food! A little noisy, but very worth it.
Outstanding as always and Julie is the absolute best server.
We had the PorterHouse and the Salmon. Think it was the best we've ever had. Will be back many times!
Food and service were amazing !!!
Very nice experience. Good service, food and ambiance!
We had a great time. The food was well prepared and full of flavor. The menu selections were well represented and should please most. The serve staff we're attentive to our needs. The reasturant is well maintained and I would highly recommend this location
we ordered the Chef's special, lobster, crab cake, shrimp and as much as I like this restaurant, the crab cake was too dry, no taste. I had to order tarter sauce to give it flavor. I asked for the potato vegetable medley and don't think I got a potato unless it was different type of potato that I not familiar with. So not to fond of that medley.
otherwise, the waitress was great.
My oyster Rockefeller cool/warm-
Crackers stale
Oscar topping served on a side plate with very little sauce
Gumbo- unflavorful, could not even eat 1/4 of it.
Will not be back
I thought for the prices the food portions would have been better. I thought the prices were on the night side. Don’t think I will visit there again.
Killer happy hour with lobster
Every dish was made with fresh ingredients and was prepared perfectly. This was our first visit to the Saltwater Grill and we will be coming back many times.
Always a delight!
Was looking for a place to take my wife for our wedding anniversary. At first we had settled on Gaido's, which was a place we had been multiple times before. But after reading some recent reviews of Gaido's we thought that maybe we should look for another place to eat. I found Saltwater Grill. After looking over the menu we decided to cancel our Gaido's reservation and make one with Saltwater. My wife even saw a dish on the menu that looked like a dish she had eaten before at another restaurant that she really liked. So win win, or so I thought. We arrived at our reservation time and where promptly seated. The ambiance was very nice and we did enjoy that. My wife ordered the Shanghai Delight, which was the similar dish she liked from another place, and I got the Texas Redfish with Pontchartrain topping and a cup of gumbo. Well the entrees actually came out before my gumbo, which the waiter promptly comped for us for the error. But both of our dishes did little for us. The Shanghai Delight was very bland, very little flavor, and the Redfish even with the Pontchartrain topping was extremely bland as well. It seemed overcooked. While over all the service was great, the food left us very disappointed in our decision to try Saltwater Grill. Next time we will stick with our initial though of Gaido's. Maybe Saltwater deserves another chance, but I don't think I will be giving it one.
We love having dinner when in Galveston. Very understated and great value for the money. Have eaten here for a number of years. Great for out of town guest as well.
Always great food & service.
Delicious food and great service. We had a very enjoyable evening!
We had a great experience at Saltwater Grill. Service was excellent and the Sea Bass was incredible. We will be going back and highly recommend.
We were apprehensive initially because there was only one other table occupied and it was 5:45 Saturday evening. We thought perhaps the food might not be good. We were pleasantly surprised- everything was top notch. A dozen raw oysters for an appetizer- delicious! Drinks from the bar were just right. My husband had the ciappino (spelling?) and said it was the best he’d ever had. I had an entree from the naked fish category with vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes-excellent! As the evening progressed, more and more people came in. Excellent service too. We will add this to our rotation of BLVD, Gaidos, and the only Olympia left (on the Seawall, but can’t remember the name). Highly recommend!
