The entire experience was top notch. I couldn’t have asked for a better waitstaff than Miguel and the rest of the crew. Our dinner was amazing and highlighted our anniversary dinner. There was behavior coming from another party we could not control but the staff at Selanne’s handled it graciously. Selanne’s quality of steaks are currently unmatched. I’m pleased to know there are steakhouses that continue to provide outstanding service and splendid meals.

Came here for an anniversary dinner, and both of our steaks were very thin and chewy. The service was friendly, but the food and meat was of very disappointing quality.

Outstanding only issue was just a little odd. They were training a new girl and the trainer was taking us to our table and she yelled to her while walking up the stairs. Seemed totally unnecessary and probably could’ve been avoided

We're frequent guests, but tonight's birthday dinner for three was a letdown! Good: Jos. Phelps cab was good. Sadly, the cocktails weren't balanced. The bread arrived cold and it went downhill from there. Two of our three steaks came out overcooked. The mac and cheese was overly creamy and, again, lukewarm. Everything should be HOT! In my humble opinion, the ricotta didn't work with the green beans. The crab dish was fine and much better with the butter on the side. The mashed potatoes were also just fine. Our service was meh, which was disappointing since the restaurant wasn't busy and we were celebrating. Overall, the food was mediocre and the experience didn't live up to our expectations. We've had great nights here before, so we're bummed tonight was off. We hope it's not a repeat issue. At these prices, every detail should be right.

This restaurant is among one of the best in the Laguna Beach area. Food is excellent! My only suggestion is that the find a way to make it less noisy. The tables in the bar room are the noisiest, as expected, but even the wine room that is downstairs is very loud too. The rooms upstairs are quieter, but there is no elevator or way for injured or handicapped people to get up there. Also, the dessert selection was not all that enticing. But the main courses, steaks, side dishes, etc. were all subperb!! It’s very pricey, but if you don’t mind paying a lot for excellent food you won’t regret going here! Just request one of the quieter rooms if you want to be able to have conversations without shouting over all the noise of the restaurant.

Had a phenomenal experience at Selanne. Service was very attentive overall. The dry aged option was absolutely delightful - perhaps one of the best I’ve ever had. Scallops were great, wagyu tartare also very lovely. I noticed a lot of truffle / mushroom appearances across several dishes but it was rather subtle and enhancing instead of overpowering, and I am someone who normally does not like truffle much. My halibut was seared beautifully but ever so slightly over, and I found the sauces to be lacking flavor. However, the sticky toffee pudding was absolutely outstanding and extremely memorable - that dessert + the dry aged steak alone made our experience. Highly recommend Selanne!
