The menu prices were quite high considering the level of service and overall ambience. After our server took our order, it took over an hour for our food to arrive. Throughout our meal, there were literally 5–6 flies constantly flying around our table and our food, which was very off-putting and unpleasant. This was especially disappointing because we were celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday, a special occasion we had been looking forward to. When I brought the issue with the flies to our server’s attention, there was no acknowledgment or attempt to address the situation. We had a party of seven and a substantial bill for both food and cocktails, so we expected a much better dining experience. Unfortunately, the combination of the long wait, poor response to our concerns, and unsanitary dining conditions made the evening quite disappointing.

Started out in the bar with martinis and shisido peppers. Yummy. Excellent dining experience. Everything on the menu looked so good we had a hard time deciding what to order. All of our dishes were delicious. I had a mock peach daiquiri that tasted like fresh peaches! So good. Definitely want to go back and try a few other dishes.

Honestly, we’ve been coming here for years, and this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. Based on this visit, we will no longer be returning 3–5 times a year like we used to. The night started off well enough with cold, refreshing drinks, but it went downhill quickly from there. The soup came out cold, while the salad was somehow warm—which was very strange. Then things really took a turn for the worse. My steak was cooked rare, exactly as ordered, but my wife’s steak came out completely overcooked—like shoe leather—and was inedible. They apologized and said they would bring a new one. However, they only took the steak back and left her sides sitting on the table. About 10 minutes later, the replacement steak arrived, but by then her sides were ice cold. To make matters worse, the response we received was a quick apology that didn’t feel genuine or sufficient given the situation. All in all, I would rate this experience a negative one.

Food and service is always on point. I brought my stepmom there for dinner and that was her first time being there. She really enjoyed her time there.

The Sheldon Inn has been a staple for my wife and I on our anniversary. It has never disappointed. Our anniversary fell on a Sunday, which was good for me. Sean, our waiter suggested the prime rib. It was cooked to perfection. My wife had the pasta and enjoyed it a lot. We topped the night off with cobbler and crème brûlée. The atmosphere is quiet and welcoming, and the staff is always so attentive. On our anniversary, they customize the menu with our names on it, which is always a feel good for the two of us. I would highly recommend going to the Sheldon Inn for any of your major life events. See you next year or sooner.
