The gnocchi and the eggplant meatballs were incredible. The pizza with chorizo dates and goat cheese was amazing The necromantic drink was superb. Would totally recommend this restaurant to everyone. First time there. Will definitely be back. Our server Matt was excellent and attentive
Nice cocktails, good service, happening atmosphere. On entry we were overcome by noise. We asked for a quiet table and were pretty happy with our table but if no such table had been free we would not have enjoyed ourselves very much. The food is very good. We ordered the meat board as an appetizer and it was nicely prepared but fairly ordinary meats. It came with an assortment of pickled vegetables and was overall good for the price. Serving sizes are quite large and sharing is a good idea. We shared the meat board, a green salad, and 2 appetizer sized pastas. It was plenty for the two of us.
This is quickly becoming one of our favorite spots! The waitstaff, food, and drinks are exceptional!
We are not fans of th open room concept and the tables were awfully close together.

My father and I came for lunch today! It was delicious!! Our waitress, Caroline, was wonderful!! We both had the French Onion Soup as appetizers! It was yummy! For the main course, Dad got the Turkey BLT, which he really liked. My mom also ordered it as a takeout. I got the rigatoni with Fran's Meatballs added which was my favorite! I had the chocolate lave cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert! It was the best!! Adam, Corrine, Becky, Matt, and Nick all came to say hello and see how everything was.We always enjoy coming and cannot wait to come back again soon. Thanks Sovana!

The food was delicious and well prepared. Our server was attentive and helpful with our meal selection. We don't go out to dinner very often but I felt that this was the best restaurant experience we've had in a while. We've only been to Sovana Bistro a few times but each time gives us more reasons to return. Bravo!
Always my favorite local restaurant and our go-to for special occasions. Our waitress, Katie, was fabulous. She made great recommendations and was on top of things. We went for my birthday but already had dessert waiting at home...they gave me a little cake to go anyway! Such a fabulous restaurant, I recommend it to everyone.
Food and service excellent. Very nice menu with creative and interesting items. Everything prepared perfectly on a busy night.

My friend and I had a fantastic lunch, the Express lunch option, which included soup, salad, a sandwich and dessert. Everything was delicious and the portions were perfect!
Excellent dinner with the mezza appetizer a special treat. We shared a pizza and the short rib entree which the server presented on two plates. Nice. Desert was as good as the meal and the espresso a perfect end.
Lunch menu -- Service was good, no issues. Food was good, not great. Gnocchi special was tasty but most of the gnocchi itself was very undercooked. Caesar salad was just OK...had an unusual flavor. We have been going here for many years and it's one of our local favorities, but today was a bit 'off'...

We love Sovana Bistro- and we were there on a busy Friday night so the service was a little slow and uneven compared to our usual experience, but understandable. The staff is great- they just were trying to do their best under very busy circumstances.
Wasn't the greatest experience for me and my girlfriend. First the waiter spilled water all over my girlfriend and then I was sick the next day from the meat on the pizza. And our table was right in the middle of the hallway so everyone was constantly bumping us.
Sovana never disappoints!!! I branched out this trip and was of course happy as a clam. I decided to do the prixe menu with a glass of malbec... delish! Our waiter brought us gluten free bread at my friends request and while I am a big fan of the bread basket here, I have to say this bread was out of this world! I then went to the beet and goat cheese salad, I normally do the tuna tartar, but this was so refreshing and light. Next was the roasted chicken, I normally go for the pappardell but wanted to go out of the box. The chicken did not disappoint, it was so moist and perfectly cooked the sides that accompanied it were perfectly paired. To finish I had the apple tart with the caramel icecream... definitely save room for this!!!

First time but won’t be the last. Was very busy (tightly packed) and noisy (Valentines Day) but the service and food was still outstanding. We will be back!

Busy Valentines Day, but even being busy food and drinks were the best, love this place
We have tried a few restaurants over the years on Valentine's Day and were always disappointed in the holiday menu options. Not with Sovana! They had their normal menu and specials - it was exactly what we were hoping for. We can't wait to go back next year.
Everything about Sovana is always good. And consistent. You can always be confident in taking out of town guests or anyone you want to impress to Sovana and it will be a great dinner. But tonight, our server, Sophie made our Valentine’s a day truly memorable. She is one of a kind!
The food was fabulous as always but for the first time the service was not good. We had to ask for more water, desert menus, and the check. Are waitress was extremely overwhelmed and needed help. Also, every table around us received the taster sampler before you order accept us. We eat there a couple times a year and this was the first time we felt ignored. Of course, we’ll come back again because it’s our favorite restaurant in the area. Maybe just not for Valentines Day.
Service took long time will wait for hour and a half at least for our dinners to come out and unfortunately one of our dinners it wasn't prepare properly,
We love Sovana. We prefer to sit inside however we sat outside on the terrace and it was either too hot or freezing and a little too bright. Otherwise it was fabulous 😍
I will start with this and that I understand that it was Valentine's day. That alone puts a lot of pressure on the entire staff. However the food wasn't that good for these reasons.
Amish Brick chicken, polenta had absolutely no seasoning and a little too stiff. Never a good idea to put a garnish that is burnt. If lemon juice is to used to bring out the flavors, then add it before it leaves the kitchen.
Boar pasta, good flavor, but way too much of it. Less is more.
Charcuterie board was good. Nice presentation, combination of flavors. One suggestion is however that use local mushrooms. That's what the area is known for. High light it.
I am not just another customer that thinks that they are best judge because they are home cooks. No I am a highly trained Executive Chef. I have over 38 years in BOH management as a chef.
These are merely suggestion and I hope you take it that way.
Taste all your food before and during service. This should be done by who ever is running the kitchen, front of the house manager, lead line cook and random waitperson.
Great place and service. All of the food was good and our waiter was outstanding.
Also, had a good selection of wine and good whine by the glass which is rare even in some high end places. Pizza, pasta and homemade pitta were great.
