Still waiting for the butternut squash pizza to be added back to the menu
It was a nice atmosphere. Seems to be family friendly. Sunday brunch had some good options for a low price. I may go there again if in the area.
Great time as usual!
Pizzas were high quality. Environment was warm and inviting. Service from Courtney was subliminal.
Always enjoy Stella Barra. Good food, good atmosphere!
The grilled grapes are a must try. Delicious flavors!!!
Waitstaff was NOT attentive. I had to literally wave my napkin in the air to someone’s attention. Cute restaurant overall.
While our service, quite honestly, wasn't great-- I kept having to flag down our waiter for drink refills, and they just weren't very busy -- our overall experience was still good. The patio is really a lovely place to engage with friends and family over a meal. And the pizzas were both very good!
Salads and pizzas were terrific, plus very good cocktails. We ordered the cracker thin crust which was outstanding. Basic combos were delicious as they are made with the right balance of high quality ingredients and we also enjoyed the creative pizza options, the corn pizza is highly recommended! Overall, a great dinner and I've already recommended Stella Barra to friends who were equally pleased with their dining experience. And get the cookies from the bakery in the lobby, so tasty!!
Great brunch deal and great service!
Was little pricier. Was surprised to see empty spots on Saturday night. Pizzas were great but found to be expensive.
We went on a Friday night for dinner. It was still great weather so I had called earlier in the week to request their outdoor patio seating. We arrive that night only to find out that they had rented the full outdoor patio to a wedding party. And, they never contacted me ahead of time to let me know - though I had specifically asked to have us sit outside. Frustrating.
Creative pizza entrees. Great appetizers. Young crowd.
Used to go a lot when it opened. We both were underwhelmed. Really wanted to like it again!
Came here last weekend for the second time. It’s super busy but a cool atmosphere. Lots of people and groups. The service was pretty good a bit slow at times. The food came out fast and hot and was super good!
Can’t wait to go back! Pizza was the best wood fired I’ve had. We’ll be back often.
Love the buffet, great choices, kid friendly environment, my 4 year old loves it so much, he calls it “my kind of place” :)
Staff’s great, very friendly and they have good service. We visit this place often and have visited many times with friends and family and consistently have had fantastic experience.
I really liked the food at Stella Barra, however, the tables were packed too tightly for a family restaurant. There was a large family group dining while we there and a couple of the children were running all over the restaurant. Obviously the parents should have taken control, but they didn't. It totally detracted from the dining experience.
This is good, interesting pizza options.
Restaurant is loud, service adequate. Worth a tr!
Noise level "energetic"? It is ear-splittingly loud and that combined with too many tables for the space makes any normal conversation impossible and detracts from the quality of the food and service.
Have been several times, but for brunch very disappointing. They aren’t that busy so food seems to sit around waiting for a customer. Meant that bacon was super dry and eggs were so so. For the price would go to their restaurant next door and just buy an individual menu item. Love their pizza and can appreciate the attempt at being a brunch place too, but the offering needs to change.
Best pizza around in a hip and fun atmosphere. Cool craft cocktails, too. Deducted a star because of the awful desserts. Rice Krispy treats and humongous chocolate chip cookies? They could do better.
I've been going to this restaurant for a while. I love the burrata and pizza options, but the service is typically poor. It takes forever for them to take your order and to get your check, so good luck getting anything in-between.
Very very loud music couldn't hear one another or server. Food was good but wouldn't return due to noise level.
We popped in for a quick dinner on the patio and stayed to sip cocktails because of the great ambiance. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Make sure to grab some sea salt chocolate chip cookies on your way out.
Lovely ambiance and wonderful service! Our waitress, Savannah, was delightful the last time we went. We’re right in the neighborhood and we love to frequent Stella Barra. Great pizza and good cocktails too.
We made dinner plans for our group after whiskey tasting at Binny’s. The table was ready right away, and we were put in the back outside area. The dining alfresco was beautiful and made you forget you were in the DePaul neighborhood. The food was very good, but I had just returned from Italy so I wasn’t impressed. The service was good except for the rushed bus service. Overall, Stella Barra Pizzeria is a hot place in the neighborhood and worth a stop to experience all the excitement.
Best gluten free pizza crust in Chicago and probably the best gf crust I’ve ever had!
We've been to Stella Barra many times as it is a nice local place. Sometimes it can be a bit loud, but it has a good energy. We go there for the pizza, and it never disappoints. The Brussels sprouts are also really good!
Our waitstaff was great she gave us choices of what we can order. She checked on us enough times that it did not bother our dining. Second time there and will be back.
Disappointing that outdoor space was closed but grateful waiter got A/C dialed down a bit so less like a meat locker. Food terrific!
Great for family dinner
They seated us on a table underneath a dripping air conditioning duct that felt like “Walking in a drizzle”
Food was mediocre.
Always great service and food!
We had the most amazing waiter who gave us complete insight. Not only do they have the best pizza/food, but the attached bakery has cookies the size of your face that are TO DIE FOR. You can't find a better cookie. The food, service, and vibes are unbeatable and I can call it one of my top favorite restaurants in Chicago!
yum yum yum // love love love
I've only ever gotten the mushroom truffle pizza but figured I'd try something new and went with a red sauce most recently; I was not disappointed. Can't wait to get back to try even more.
The cocktail list is void of drinks with rum or vodka which was a bummer as I don't prefer gin tequila or burbon, however, their specials are usually amazing.
Love the contrast of Stella compared to Summer House next door.
Great brunch buffet. Excellent food, laid back atmosphere.
Favorite place to go when we go to the city!!
Jared and Michael fabulous bartenders!!
We had a great experience! We waited about 45 minutes for our reservation because we requested outside, but we didn’t mind and had a drink at the bar while we waited. The pizza was outstanding and the wine was great. The mushroom pizza with truffle oil is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The outdoor patio is adorable and we’re glad we waited to sit outside!
Anytime this place gets busy, the kitchen slows to a crawl. 50 minutes wait for a thin crust pizza...really?
This is a common problem with Lettuce Entertain You restaurants. Strange...they get most things right.
So happy we found this spot- great food and incredible service. Made a reservation and the table was ready when we arrived, our waitress was great and the cocktails were fun! You can go half and half with any of their pizzas, which is great to try a couple different kinds. Will be back!
