What Insiders Are Saying
It doesn’t get much better than having a Spanish brunch on Terra Plata’s rooftop garden in Capitol Hill. We like it for Monday night paella too.
Their paella was better than the one we had in Barcelona, Spain! We will be back for sure!
Can't beat the location, especially the magical rooftop terrace. The perfect setting for a summer afternoon or evening. As a huge tea fan i appreciated their excellent selection and quality of teas.
Great Father’s Day brunch on the rooftop in perfect weather. Drinks, meals, and service were perfect.
I reserved a roof-top table to celebrate the birthday of my partner. The ambiance was very nice. And it's great that the restaurant gave us a free dessert with candle to celebrate at the end. In general the food was excellent with very fresh ingredients though my partner found the bone marrow weird. Free bread (you will need to ask) was a nice feature since most of the food we ordered was very rich in flavors. One thing they could improve was the timing of delivering the food. Food came at different times, sometimes with long waiting time in between, and the flow is a little off. Prices are on the high side (with small portions) probably due to the high quality of the ingredients. Overall, it's a satisfying dining experience.
We always enjoy sitting on the top deck at Terra Platta. This trip was no exception, though we only were able to score four seats at a common table. Food was great, really enjoyed the roast pig and octopus.
Food was excellent, but service was slow. Our server was very nice, but kitchen seemed backed up.
Recommend sitting on the rooftop if you can especially in the warm days/evenings as it enhances the experience. Food was fantastic (which changed often with some available year round - at least all the times I’ve been each season). Service was a little slower (we had to ask several times to order, inquire about our order, and ask for water), but otherwise a good place to go.
Place was very nice and the atmosphere amazing. Staff was very friendly and good. Was expecting amazing food but was really just ok. Had the chicken and the pork with clams as appetizer which showed up after the main course ( really). Overall worth a visit for the place and the atmosphere.
Loved the food, and the outdoor seating area on the roof is amazing. The server was very friendly, but our food took forever, basics like bread arrived late. Overall we love Terra Plata and will return, but this was not it's best showing.
Fun roof-top dining. Music is loud, energetic atmosphere, tables are close together. Wouldn't recommend for a quiet evening or date night.
Danielle K is the best server in Seattle!
Outstanding food. Expensive - definitely in the $$$$ range - but wonderful.
Bad service, bad aircondition, the red win was served hot, the course were poor and oily. The desert wss not fresh.
Had a delicious dinner on the roof with out of town relatives on the hottest night of the year - so far. Food and service were great. It was a bit too hot on the roof. Not the fault of the restaurant- but the unusual SEATTLE weather!
We made a reservation before a show at the Paramount. They called us ahead to see if we would like the patio if it was available and it was. Beautiful setting and they hustled without making us feel rushed so that we could make the show. I would make my reservation a little earlier so that I could enjoy the space longer. The food was delicious! Flavors were complex, but not overly assertive or overdone.
Beautiful evening on the rooftop for us east coasters.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle and the rooftop patio is to die for on a beautiful day. Service is great, food is excellent, and selection of locally-sourced ingredients is much appreciated. Terra Plata is a wonderful place to take out-of-town guests and I recommend it frequently to our guests (I work in a downtown hotel) as they are always well taken care of.
Every year I go to dinner for my birthday with a few friends. This year I chose the rooftop at Terra Plata. The reservation person called to inquire whose birthday it was. They had a custom menu for our table that said "happy birthday Kim" on the menu letter head. The food was delicious. The heaters were warm. The ambiance was perfect. They even brought out a cake my friend had brought. Just perfect in all ways!
you don't come for the view of the hill as much as the food, though the view of other diners enjoying their fabulous repasts is wonderful, too. I had the braised pork and it was sumptuous, spicy and rich and flavorful. My husband had the burger, a mix of brisket and grass-fed beef, that he said was out of this world. This restaurant is one of the best for foodies, especially for people who know how to cook and can appreciate how hard this is to pull off, day after day, creating masterpieces for the hordes of the hungry looking for simple fare that has been elevated to the divine.
The brunch menu should improve. It has been the same since years
Would definitly come here again. My friend and I ordered over 10 dishes because we wanted to try nearly everything. The price was lower than comparable restaurants so we expected small plates, only to find the servings are very generous. All of the food was very good and perfectly cooked. Service was friendly, but could have been more attentive, however its probably just right for most. Definitly show up hungry, order lots, and share with a friend.
Love the restaurant and love sitting at the bar to eat ....
Order the salmon! Absolutely delicious.
Stay away from the Rockfish. Not appealing in any way (looks like a bottom feeder when it arrives on the plate and kind of tasted like one).
The staff made the special effort to have menus printed for our celebration! They were very accommodating with our slow ordering (catching up). Food was delicious! Couldn’t have asked for any better experience!
Terra Plata is such a unique and beautiful place. My friend and I went on a sunny Sunday morning at about 10:30. It wasn't busy and we were able to get a seat on the roof which is to die for. We started off with churros and they are now my favorite food item to ever order. The rest of the food was fantastic. A little pricey at times but it's totally worth the experience.
The rooftop dining is lovely! The food was good but nothing to write home about. Our favorite part of the meal was the dessert, churros with chocolate sauce!
We loved the servers and ambiance and the food was very good. We did not like the way the food was brought out randomly with the entrees coming out 15 minutes apart. We know they recommend sharing but they could do a better job on timing since not everyone orders to share. This is a surprising expensive restaurant and because of that I am probably a little more sensitive to the chaotic ordering and serving process. If it weren't so expensive, I would probably be more forgiving of the casual customer service.
Team was woefully understaffed last Saturday --- this place was once a top tier restaurants in Seattle.
This was the second time I’ve been. I remembered the food being much better the first time I ate at Terra Plata. The restaurant has all of the qualities necessary to get 5 stars (great location, farm to table, good cocktails), however the food fell short.
I was especially disappointed in the salmon, which did not taste fresh and I’m guessing was farm raised in hindsight. I guess they’re living up to the farm to table name.
For the price, I’d recommend a different restaurant in Seattle.
I'm sorry we didn't live up to your expectations, we clearly fell short on the preparation of your food. We take our "earth to plate" concept and the collaboration with our local farmers and fishermen very seriously. The salmon we served Saturday was fresh troll caught Washington King salmon we received that day. Wild salmon is our last wild resource and we work very hard to protect it. We wouldn't dream of cooking, serving or eating farm raised salmon, it has never been through our doors, ever.
Birthday. It was a very nice touch to put the names on the menu ! Thanks so much
Terra Plata’s open air dining was a great experience. Exceptional food paired with a wonderful atmosphere and a great warm evening made it a perfect choice for a week night date.
Terra Plata consistently impresses both with their food, and outstanding service!
Overpriced but delicious and a wonderful waitress!
Terra Plata is consistently an outstanding dining experience as well as a truly fun place to hang out—it is like being at a private party with close friends and family.
Friendly wait staff. Outstanding food, extremely flavorful.
The food was amazing and it was my first time there. Love the rooftop dining. We are already planning to return with out-of-town guests next month! Looking forward to it!
We went for paella night and it was great. Had mixto for four and vegetarian for two. Great wine specials too.
We had a great dinner on the rooftop in mid May, with heat lamps to take off the chill. Great dinner all round.
Always brilliant in all categories. Service is just right. Food is always excellent
We loved our first visit to Terra Plata. The food is delicious and artistically presented. Each dish was better than the first. Unique dishes served in unique ways, all locally sourced. The service is awesome. The servers and all staff were super friendly and accommodating even though it was a very busy Mother's Day. We will be back and I highly recommend Terra Plata!
