Great service. Thanks Liam. You did a great job Mom and I enjoyed dinner
My wife and I went to Texas for the first time to celebrate our 23rd Anniversary. It was a great experience. Seeing Dale for the first time in 20 years was also great. God bless Dale and his family.
Great experience. Food was excellent, staff was attentive and management was very interested in knowing how we were doing.
Excellent menu selections and service. Food was great both seafood and steak selections.
Great steaks. Loved the calamari. The bread pudding is to die for!
We had such a great time!!
My redfish was amazing. I would have given food 5 stars but the green beans needed another 1 min cooking. But I didn’t care I had more than enough to eat so didn’t mention to server.
We've eaten at Texas several times since moving to the state of Texas this past year, and have not been disappointed. My husband loves the quail wings. I had the flash-fried chicken with sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes and the wedge salad. The chicken was perfect, very flavorable and perfectly crusted (just the right amount even for a health-conscious selection). The fries and mashed potatoes were perfect, and the salad and blue cheese dressing were fresh, fresh, fresh! The pecan praline ice cream is homemade and divine as was the chocolate cake. Our server was friendly and attentive. They also had a magician going table-to-table and he did a great job of entertaining. We'll continue to patronize this fine establishment and heartily recommend it.
Filet was out of this world. Delmonico was ok but could use a retooling. Crabcakes and Dessert were fantastic. This is a friendly New Orleans style steakhouse family owned and operated and the attention to the details of service showed. This was our New Year's Eve choice and did not disappoint.
After sitting down and being greeted I tried to order a drink only to be told the server will be back when my fiancé returned to the table. We then ordered our appetizer and entrees waited about 8 min, the server returned to ask us what we ordered for an appetizer, again. Then our salads and appetizer came out at the same time. About 5 min later our food came out; we hadn’t even finished our apps and salad. Not to mention the shrimp was not deveined and he told us there was 6 to order, however there was only 5. When I ordered my steak I asked for medium rare. The server insisted that they were a “true rare kitchen” and coaxed me into ordering my filet medium, implying the medium filet would come out more like my desired medium rare, but it came out more like medium well. Also the entire plate was covered in an abundance of cracked pepper so much that I couldn’t even finish my meal. I have been here on a couple other occasions and have had a more pleasant experience, where I haven’t felt rushed out the door, for much less than I spent tonight. Of the hundreds of places to go in DFW we chose, Texas. I am very disappointed in the service and the kitchen this visit out. It may be a while before we consider returning.
We went for New Year’s Eve and they did a great job accommodating our party. The service and food were outstanding. I was impressed with their ability to handle such a large holiday crowd.
It was New Years Eve so they were busy but a tab of $200 should have a little finesse than what we got. I ordered sparkling wine by name and he showed up with Moët, ok then my steak was over cooked but we had already waited and didn’t want to wait for another so it wasn’t great. The crab cakes were delicious and I liked the salad. Also I asked for a water twice and never got one was never even offered water. I had a dirty knife and asked for a new one and never got one. I’d probably try it again but I’ll have to wait a while we are foodies and eat out a lot and this was by far not the best :(
I have been going to Texas since J moved here 5 years ago. I have never been disappointed. Food, service and ambiance is always fabulous!
What a Great Place to welcome the New Year! Texas Cafe has it all... Mouth Watering food, Excellent Service, Cozy Ambiance, Fine Dining, but feels like Family! Thank you, Dale & Shelbi, for always making us feel at home! Happy New Year!
Everything was good. Room was a little cold service was very good.
New Years Eve dinner. This was a great atmosphere, music and conversation. Wait staff was pleasant but very busy. No bread was brought to the table but other than that all was very well done!
New Years eve
I felt the menu should be a little more expanded for New Years. I had to send my steak back because it was under cooked. My wife was a little disappointed in menu selections because she wanted something different.
New Years Eve dinner. Fidel, our server was outstanding - he made positive suggestions with the appetizers and deserts that kept us from over eating. A true excellence in serving. The food was well prepared and delicious.
Amazing food and service! Have not had this kind of service anywhere!!
Disappointed. Asked them to hold nuts on a steak salad; when salad came it had nuts which is an honest mistake. But when we sent back, they brought back salad with no steak saying my wife had had a few bites of the steak on previous salad.
We tried Texas for my Birthday. We really enjoyed the food and service. We tried the filet, ribeye, red fish, and fried shrimp. Every person enjoyed their dish. The filet was cooked to perfection and one of the best that I’ve had in Dallas.
The menu was perfect, the food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. We will definitely be returning.
Every time we go we have a great experience. The owners come by table to check on you and welcome you. The servers, food and atmosphere are great! Its our special occasion place!
Our third visit and all have been memorable. The staff is outstanding. Everyone is having fun. Great place
Perfect in every way.
Great dining experience. Went to celebrate birthday but will definitely return.
Delicious food and excellent service. Enjoyed our meal and would recommend definitely!
World class service, food and ambiance. My 6th visit and every one was exceptional.
Always come to Texas with wife for Date night , holiday, or special occasion
Busy night there. Service seemed off. Asked if we wanted dessert after salads, seemed unaware that we had not even had dinner yet.
Kept having to ask for items like a fork, knife, water, etc
When making reservations did not expect to be seated next to busy bar.
We absolutely loved this restaurant. Each dish was perfect! Glad we had a reservation because this place was hopping.
We all enjoyed our meals. Only complaint was the noise level. Very difficult for seniors who speak softly and might not hear at 100%. Our server was good and the food was cooked perfect.
The food is always delicious and the service and ambiance is great!
We when for my wife’s birthday and everything was great. The service, food, and staff!!!! Thanks
Great place! Enjoy it more every time we go there. I just need to go there more often. My wife and I both love the place. Their food and service is excellent. The steaks melt in your mouth, almost, and the sides are special.
outstanding food and service and a very friendly atmosphere
Texas is my FAVORITE restaurant. Family owned and operated, they are the most hospitable and warming individuals in this industry! Their menu is fantastic and varietal. It is always a pleasure to dine with them. You MUST go!
Very nice restaurant. Attentive staff, delicious food. My only complaint is the bottled soda. Seems like a silly way to get a few extra bucks. Can they really not install a soda machine and give free refills at 2.50 a soda?
For those of you familiar with Del Frisco's & III Forks Restaurants, well you'll have some idea of what's in store for you at Texas. Dale Wamstad, Proprietor of Texas, was the creator of those other two iconic restaurants. Texas is much the same. Great steaks and seafood. Extremely nice staff and you're likely to see Mr. Wamstad making the rounds every night in the restaurant.
We had a great time. The live entertainment and food was great. We'll be back.
