The Bungalow Lakehouse
Sat in the bar, was very busy and noisy (which we did not mind), service was slow at times because it was so busy, but our waitress was sweet! Food came out quickly and was quite good. Would go back when I am in town.
Had dinner on the deck. Great view of the lake and surrounding landscape. Great if the weather permits.
Went on half price burger night , (Tuesdays) after not having been there for about 2 months. They have changed up the burgers and the one the I liked (California Burger) they took off the menu because it was too much like their full price California burger. Funny I thought thats what half price(gourmet burger night) burger night was. O_o
I wound up getting the Big Ben with the toasted ciabatta buns that I didn't care for and it broke up as I was eating the burger. They are apparently enforcing the "no substitutions" so I couldn't change the bun to the brioche bun. The no substitutions rule is to keep people from building a full priced california burger for $6.99. I really can't believe they were losing money on that as the burger nights in past the dining room was pretty full, it wasn't so last Tuesday, will have to check back.
Everything else though was great.
Great Fathers Day Brunch!
Bungalow Lakehouse is consistent in both high quality of the food and great service. Had a most enjoyable brunch on Sunday. BL has become our go to for celebration or just a great dining experience.
The hostess wasn’t there to check in for our reservation so we went to the bar area. It was fine and we enjoyed our meal.
Heard good things about this place so we decided to check it out. Really glad we did because it was all around excellent. The deck has a gorgeous pond/lake view and fabulous for a warm afternoon/evening. Our server was great and attentive. My food came out incorrect and our server was quick to fix it. I just believe my requests got overlooked in the busy evening kitchen because I saw our server take note. They remade it in no time. Their happy hour deals are great and so is their food. Their fried pickles are to die for! I have since been back this place is awesome!
Everything was delicious. Service was great! Would def come back.
Great Place and good food! No better place for sports and drink!
Six of us enjoyed dinner on the terrace overlooking the lake. The nachos from the happy hour menu were delicious. My crab cake sandwich (ordered without the bread) was very good. Those who ordered salads raved about them. One of us needs gluten-free meals and the wait staff was very knowledgeable about how the foods were prepared which gave her confidence that the food she ordered was safe.
We had prime rib and shrimp tacos. Both were delicious. We had reservations and we were seated right away in the main dining room. Service was excellent. Several people in addition to our waiter came by to check on us from time to time. Would like to come back and try the sports bar area or the outside seating. Lots of atmosphere choices for whatever mood you are in.
A delightful evening
It was great having our Easter Brunch at the Bungalow Lakehouse. I took my father there, along with my husband and son and we all had a wonderful experience. The buffet choices were plentiful and our server was attentive to our needs. I would definitely recommend the Lakehouse to others.
It was an amazing experience. Excellent customer service and awesome food. We all had a blast. We will be back again soon.
This place is what you dream of in being a local one of a kind neighborhood rendezvous bar/restaurant. If you want energetic vibe there's the humongous sports and live band area with an outdoor patio... if you want conversation with business associates or close friends try the cozy bar with sofas, fabulous bartenders, and small tables straight ahead.... and if you want restaurant dining in a quiet atmosphere go to the right for the dining room. Everything for everyone. Love this place. Hope it never goes away.
We love coming, to the lake house and always enjoy the service and the meal.
I think however it's time to change out the carpets in the front room. This, however, won't deter us from enjoying the great food and wonderful service.
The service was very good but the food was underwhelming.
Beth, our server, was excellent. She was friendly and knowledgeable when asked questions about various dishes. The restaurant itself is very quiet and peaceful and our conversations could be heard by all at the table. Will definitely be returning.
Always an enjoyable place for dinner. Food and service were excellent.
My son and I went here for the first time. Brent, our server, was very attentive and personable. The food selection was good. Ambiance was a bit outdated. We got the pot stickers which were delicious. The entrees, Chicken Picata and Steak & Cheese, were nothing to write home about. Fairly bland. We did not order dessert as a result. Price for those 3 things, no drinks, was $50.
We had a great st Patrick ‘s day dinner. It was delicious and the ambiance was perfect. And not too loud for us to all talk.
server was great. Food was solid. Dining room smells like cigar smoke
From the minute we arrived, service was as expected, excellent. Our server was exceptional and made sure our dinner was enjoyed. We were not rushed at all and was able to sit, relax and enjoy our dinners and just talking with friends. I do have to say though although that we were sitting at the large corner booth near the double door and it was very cold sitting there. Almost ate with my coat on. Next time will request a booth or table further back into the room.
My wife and I both had a bowl of gumbo and I have to say, this was the best gumbo I have had outside of New Orleans. Most people don’t spice it nearly enough and leave it bland and disappointing. That is not the case here, this was spiced almost perfectly and was absolutely delicious. I followed that up with scallops and my wife had salmon. Both dishes were cooked properly and tasted very good, the side vegetables were also a nice compliment. Overall they did a very nice job, start to finish.
Tried it for the first time for a Valentine’s date. I have to be gluten free and their GF menu was extremely limited. I was excited to splurge and order the filet, but it came out dry and flavorless - without any seasoning at all - not even butter, salt and pepper, and the same with the asparagus. Gluten free doesn’t have to be flavor and sauce free! After asking the waitress who wasn’t sure if I had options, the manager stopped by and was kind enough to bring me the one sauce option that was safe, but at that pojnt, my filet was cool, and quite dry. The waitress was sweet, but not knowledgeable about GF options and seemed overwhelmed. I saw the regular menu, there were so many options that could have been easily adjusted to be GF! After spending a significant amount of money, we were not impressed.
As soon as we walked in we were hit with an overwhelming smell of cigarettes. It was inescapable even in the dining room. Average dining experience but based on the smell alone we won’t be back.
Valentines Day Dinner
Wish the cigar lounge was bigger - but other than that - the food & service was awesome!
Valentines Day dinner was great! Went early. Very quiet. Staff was very attentive and accommodating. Thanks for a great evening!
I ordered a second drink and it was never delivered. I requested a booth table and the hostess said they were all reserved and they clearly were not as there were two empty booth tables the entire time we were there.
Always reliable food and service, always a positive experience. Only recommendation would be to revamp the dessert selections. They no longer serve the banana split. When we asked our server why, she said she was not sure as it was always popular.
Everything was spot on and my bison burger was perfectly cooked and delicious .
Yes, I would highly recommend the Bungalow as a nice get away for groups looking for a pleasant and quiet place to meet and enjoy a great meal. Thank you for the service and smiles. :)
One of the best steaks of my life.
We arrived early, so we were alone. The food was very good and the staff were friendly.
Had a reservation for 9:15. Get there and the host tells us they are closing down but we can go in the noisy sports bar section and order. No thanks we came to talk and have dinner. We went in the restuarant bar section anyway. Matt the bar tender said we were welcome to grab a both and he would serve us. He did a great job. Saved the night
The dining room staff was excellent. Samantha was our server and she was great. The other major bonus is the place has an excellent sports bar and a separate cigar bar as well besides the main dining. Real gem
We arrived just after a larger group was seated in another room. Our waiter disappeared for periods of time, I assume to help with the larger group. The waiter lost sight of our drinks needing refreshed and we had to approach the hostess to ask for our check. We arrive early- 12210 for our 1230 reservation and were seated promptly. We had a 2pm meeting and had to ask for the check to arrive on time. Our food did arrive quickly. Willing to give the place another try as I think the service was off due to the group, or being short of staff.
A very nice evening with friends at the BL. Hubs is hard to please & he was quite happy with the prime rib. I had the cheese quesadilla with salsa & guacamole - really tasty & the leftovers the next day were even more flavorful.
Others at the table had the tuna & raved about how nicely it was done.
It's a bit of a trek for us - 20 minute drive instead of the 5 minutes to Reston Town Center, but totally worth it at least a few times a year.
Good food, attentive service & nice ambiance - we'll be back.
